Microbes have consistently coexisted with humans and have profoundly influenced their daily practices. Accompanied by the new materialists' rethinking of the ontology and epistemology of nonhuman matter, and based on the 'Object Oriented Ontology' proposed by Harman, this paper attempt to reinterpret the dynamic relationship between viruses, human bodies, and cities in the process of movement. By reinterpreting the communication patterns between human bodies and viruses, as well as the topological networks between human bodies and cities, this study aimed to reveal the biosocial attributes of cities from the perspective of transcending anthropocentrism." The findings indicate that (1) symptoms and attitudes towards viruses are embodied communication processes between the human body and the virus and that the outcome of embodied communication is influenced by temporal and spatial dimensions. This finding contributes to the reshaping of the humanity-virus relationship, prompting humanity to value the agency of viruses and to confront how viruses coexist and cohabit in the human body and urban spaces; (2) The mobilities of viruses cross boundaries and scales between a human body and cities. By focusing on the mobilities of viruses between extended bodies to explore the interactions between bodies and cities, this study reveals the mobilities and biosocial properties of the city; that is, the city is viewed as a topological biosocial network that transcends boundaries. Using the mask as an example, this study reveals how the extended body affects and alters material connections–that is, how social, policy, and cultural meanings are embedded in the construction and reconstruction of urban topological networks–and how the network of relationships attached to the body creates connections to better cope with the impacts of viral mobilities. Overall, based on the concepts of embodied communication' and an extended body, the results of this study provide new perspectives on micro-mobilities in human geography, enriching the dynamics of the relationship between cities and bodies. First, it re-examines the dichotomy between health and disease as a dynamic relational process by understanding the relationship between humans and viruses from a geographic perspective so that health study pays attention to the dynamics of other elements in the relational network. Second, the findings also expand the connotation and application of the concept of the 'extended body,' enriching the understanding of the dynamic relationship between the body and the city, and revealing the interactions between macro-socio-cultural politics and micro-body behavioral practices in the context of viral pandemics. Viewing the relational nature and attributes of the city through the prism of microbial mobility, draws our attention towards how a city is formed through connections between human and nonhuman matter and exhibits that this relational space is constantly fluid. This turn of thinking, which reflects the connotations and extents of space in a network-nested manner, has inspired geographers to pay attention to the complex network of relationships between people and spaces, where humans, microbes, and cities are seen as a collection of complex relationships. Therefore, the object of urban governance is not limited to humanity but should also be concerned with other nonhuman matters, and the relationships generated between people and nonhuman matters.

【Objective】When analyzing the nonlinear mutation frequency interference problem in all optical communication networks, interference detection mainly relies on estimating channel covariance directly, without expanding network communication signal transformation processing, resulting in low F1-score values of the detection results. Therefore, a nonlinear abrupt frequency interference detection algorithm based on finite difference time domain is proposed for all-optical communication networks.【Methods】We collect all optical communication network traffic data by combining packet capturing and mirroring methods, followed by cleaning, conversion, and protocol processing. Relying on the working principle of finite difference time-domain method, we first describe the time width and bandwidth of the signal in time-domain and frequency-domain space. Then we apply derivative and Fourier transform algorithm to transform the real-time collected network communication signal. Next, we use the transformed signal to analyze the nonlinear abrupt frequency interference. Finally the transformed signal is detected and analyzed. With the aid of the time-frequency joint feature analysis method, the time-domain and frequency-domain features of the interference signal are extracted. Relying on the back propagation algorithm and the minimization of the loss function, the detection process of nonlinear abrupt frequency interference is simplified. The characteristic distance function is used to replace the network loss function, and it is input into the interference recognition model based on the twin network to obtain the detection results of nonlinear abrupt frequency interference.【Results】The experimental results show that under different noise conditions, the F1-score value of the proposed algorithm's nonlinear mutation frequency interference detection results remains above 0.95. The detection time is less than 40 ms.【Conclusion】The new detection method using the finite difference time-domain method can more accurately reflect the interference situation of the current communication network. It ensures the normal operation of the communication network, and meets the interference detection requirements of all-optical communication network.

Currently, the engineering thematic maps used in coal mines are mostly CAD drawings. Extracting data efficiently from CAD drawings and quickly organizing them into geographic information system (GIS) services, thereby supporting the creation of mine spatial objects and business attribute expansion, integrating real-time safety production data are the key to building a coal mine GIS one-map. The implementation process of converting CAD drawings into GIS services based on the ArcGIS platform is cumbersome. The ArcGIS platform has high costs and cannot run well across platforms. In order to solve the above problems, a coal mine GIS one-map rapid construction platform has been designed. The platform includes three major functional modules: CAD drawing management, map service publishing, and thematic map management. The CAD drawing management module is used for basic information management and status tracking of drawings. The map service publishing module is used for map packaging and online preview. The thematic map management module is used for map service management, mine object creation, and attribute extension. Based on the open design alliance (ODA), the Teigha for Java SDK is used to achieve precise recognition and fast and accurate extraction of all elements in CAD drawings. By constructing a hierarchical description model for coal mine CAD drawing data based on GIS data features, rapid storage of all element data in CAD drawings has been achieved. Following the object-oriented design approach, a web-based coal mine CAD drawing dataset storage interface and thematic map service publishing platform are developed under the Spring Cloud framework, achieving rapid construction of coal mine GIS one-map. Taking the mining engineering plan of a certain coal mine as an example, traditional methods and fast construction platforms are used to construct coal mine GIS one-map. The comparison results show that the fast construction platform can significantly improve the efficiency of constructing coal mine GIS one-map, providing a spatiotemporal digital base for the intelligent construction of coal mines.

ABSTRACT: Type IV interferon (IFN) has been shown to be a cytokine with antiviral activity in fish and amphibian. But, it has not been cloned and characterized functionally in avian species. In this study, type IV IFN, IFN-υ, and its 2 possible receptors, IFN-υR1 and IL10RB, were identified from an avian species, the mallard (Anas platyrhynchos). Mallard IFN-υ has a 531 bp open reading frame (ORF), encoding 176 amino acids (aa), and has highly conserved features as reported in different species, with an N-terminal signal peptide and a predicted multi-helix structure. The IFN-υR1 and IL10RB contain 528 and 343 aa, respectively, with IFN-υR1 protein containing JAK1 and STAT binding sites, and IL10RB containing TYK2 binding site. These 2 receptor subunits also possess 3 domains, the N-terminal extracellular domain, the transmembrane domain, and the C-terminal intracellular domain. Expression analysis indicated that IFN-υ, IFN-υR1 and IL10RB were widely expressed in examined organs/tissues, with the highest level observed in pancreas, blood, and kidney, respectively. The expression of IFN-υ, IFN-υR1 and IL10RB in liver, spleen or kidney was significantly upregulated after stimulation with polyI:C. Furthermore, recombinant IFN-υ protein induced the expression of ISGs, and the receptor of IFN-υ was verified as IFN-υR1 and IL10RB using a chimeric receptor approach in HEK293 cells. Taken together, these results indicate that IFN-υ is involved in the host innate immune response in mallard.

A short overview of the history of academic geography since the 19th century shows that there has never been a unity of physical and human geography in the past, at least in the form that is strived for today to justify the relevance of geography in coping with the present problems faced by humanity. But the fact that the limits of positivism start to be recognized in physical geography opens a way to collaboration for addressing the pressing problems affecting our planet today. The paper ends with some examples of how such a collaboration might look like and advocates greater attention to a political chorological approach, concentrating on the diversity of regions in the world, by taking both their internal and external relationships in terms of power structures into account.

Owing to the development issues of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the new domestic and international situation, the content, challenges, and paths of innovation and development of the Greater Bay Area are explored from multiple dimensions, including economic, social, cultural, and institutional. The innovation and development of the Greater Bay Area should strengthen technological and industrial innovation capabilities, improve regional resilience to cope with external shocks, increase the mobility of intraregional factors, improve the well-being of the people's livelihood, enhance the capacity of spatial governance, promote integrated urban-rural development, and optimize the regional pattern of ecological security. The conclusion is that considering the innovation and development of the Greater Bay Area from a systemic and interconnected perspective is crucial for seeking innovations in various development fields and promoting coupling and coordination among them. Therefore, the region may acquire the agency that can continuously break through bottlenecks, resolve external shocks, and unlock new paths of development. We call for the strengthening of cross-field and cross-disciplinary collaborative research to contribute the power of geography to the realization of the development goals of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

As an exceptional nonlinear material, graphene offers versatile appealing properties, such as electro-optic tunability and high electromagnetic field confinement in the terahertz regime, spurring advance in ultrashort pulse formation, photodetectors and plasmonic emission. However, limited by atomic thickness, weak light–matter interaction still limits the development of integrated optical devices based on graphene. Here, an exquisitely designed meta-cavities combined with patterned graphene is used to overcome this challenge and promote THz-graphene interaction via terahertz location oscillation. By using an 800 nm pump laser, the local field-induced strong interaction allows sensitive responses to the ultrafast energy transfer from the ultrafast optical pump to graphene electron heat, enabling 46.2% enhancement of terahertz transparency. Such optical modulation of terahertz waves shows ultrafast response in delay less than 10 ps. Moreover, thanks to the nature of graphene, the device shows unique potential for electrically dynamic tuning and further bandwidth broadening.

Abstract Marine new particle formation (NPF) can affect cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) in the global atmosphere. Recently, iodic acid (IA) has been identified as a critical driver for marine NPF. However, atmospheric observations of IA cannot be associated with predicted particle formation rates. Given the complexity of atmospheric components, other species may promote IA particle formation. As an efficient stabilizer for acidic precursors, dimethylamine (DMA) has a wide distribution over the oceans. Hence, we investigated the nucleation process of DMA and IA under different atmospheric conditions and uncovered the corresponding nucleating mechanism using a quantum chemical approach and Atmospheric Cluster Dynamics Code (ACDC). The findings show that DMA can structurally stabilize IA via hydrogen and halogen bonds, and the clustering process is energy barrierless. Moreover, DMA can enhance the formation rate of IA clusters by five orders of magnitude, and its efficiency in promoting IA cluster formation is much higher than that of NH3. Compared to the nucleation via sequential addition of IA, the IA-DMA nucleation plays a more dominant role in nucleation kinetic. Thus, the effect of DMA on enhancing IA cluster stability and formation rate cannot be ignored, especially in the regions near the source of IA and DMA emissions. Broadly, the proposed IA-DMA nucleation mechanism may help to explain some missing sources of particles and, thus intensive marine NPF events.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a notably global health challenge with high mortality rates and poor prognosis. The deregulation of the Hippo signalling pathway, especially the overexpression and activation of downstream effector Yes-associated protein (YAP), has been demonstrated to result in the rapid malignant evolution of HCC. In this context, multiple efforts have been dedicated to targeting YAP for HCC therapy, but effective YAP inhibitors are still lacking. In this study, through a YAP-TEAD (8×GTIIC) luciferase reporter assay, we identified fingolimod, an immunomodulatory drug approved for the treatment of multiple sclerosis, as a novel YAP inhibitor. Fingolimod suppressed the proliferation of HCC cell lines by downregulating the protein levels as well as the trans-activating function of YAP. Overall, our current study not only identifies fingolimod as a novel YAP-targeting in hibitor, but also indicates that this clinically-approved drug could be utilized as a potential and feasible therapeutic drug for HCC.

Abstract The major concept of "oxidative stress" is an excess elevated level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) which are generated from vigorous metabolism and consumption of oxygen. The precise harmonization of oxidative stresses between mitochondria and other organelles in the cell is absolutely vital to cell survival. Under oxidative stress, ROS produced from mitochondria and are the major mediator for tumorigenesis in different aspects, such as proliferation, migration/invasion, angiogenesis, inflammation, and immunoescape to allow cancer cells to adapt to the rigorous environment. Accordingly, the dynamic balance of oxidative stresses not only orchestrate complex cell signaling events in cancer cells but also affect other components in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Immune cells, such as M2 macrophages, dendritic cells, and T cells are the major components of the immunosuppressive TME from the ROS-induced inflammation. Based on this notion, numerous strategies to mitigate oxidative stresses in tumors have been tested for cancer prevention or therapies; however, these manipulations are devised from different sources and mechanisms without established effectiveness. Herein, we integrate current progress regarding the impact of mitochondrial ROS in the TME, not only in cancer cells but also in immune cells, and discuss the combination of emerging ROS-modulating strategies with immunotherapies to achieve antitumor effects.

Objective To investigate the effect of personality characteristics on near-term postoperative mental health of patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). Methods We included 119 patients with LSCC who underwent surgical treatment. The recent psychological state was assessed by SCL-90, SAS and SDS 5 to 7 days after surgery. The EPQ was used to evaluate the personality characteristics of patients after operation. Multiple linear stepwise regression method was used to analyze the influencing factors of SAS and SDS scores of LSCC patients. Results The postoperative scores of SCL-90, SAS and SDS of LSCC patients were significantly higher than the Chinese norm (P≤0.05). The scores of P scale and N scale in EPQ were higher than the domestic norm (P < 0.01). The scores of somatization, obsessiveness, anxiety, depression, hostility, phobia, paranoia and psychosis were significantly higher than the Chinese norm (P < 0.05). Family income, surgical method, postoperative radiochemotherapy, psychoticism and neuroticism personalities were the influencing factors of postoperative SAS score (P < 0.01). Family income, surgical method, postoperative radiochemotherapy, neurotic personality were the influencing factors of postoperative SDS score (P < 0.01). Conclusion LSCC patients have near-term depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders after operation. In terms of personality, they have psychoticism and neuroticism. Family income, surgical methods, postoperative radiochemotherapy, psychoticism and neuroticism are independent risk factors affecting postoperative SAS and SDS scores.

The development of remote frequency transfer techniques, especially the appearance of optical clocks with unprecedented stability, has prompted geoscientists to study their applications in geodesy. Using remote frequency transfer technique, by frequency comparison of two optical clocks at two points P and Q connected by optical fibers, one can measure the signal's frequency shift between them, and the geopotential difference between them can be determined based on the gravity frequency shift equation. Given the orthometric height of P, the orthometric height of Q can be determined. Since the present stability of the optical clock has achieved 1 × 10−18 or better and comparing the frequency transfer via optical fiber provides stability at 10−19 level, the optical clock network enables determining the orthometric height at centimeter-level. This study provides a formulation to determine the height difference at one-centimeter level between two points on the ground based on the optical fiber frequency transfer technique.

Although political geography has been gaining popularity in China as a sub-discipline of human geography, its methodological development has been limited to the quantitative paradigm. As a widely used research method in social sciences, discourse analysis remains under-used in Chinese geo-environment analyses. This study discusses the application status and prospects of discourse analysis methods in geo-environment analysis within the Chinese scholarship. First, this study discriminates the concepts, theories, and analysis paths involved in discourse analysis methodology. Specifically, it discusses how discourse is conceptualized compared to text, language, discourse formation, discourse structure, textual analysis, and content analysis. Subsequently, the study discusses various case studies of discourse analysis in human geography, which focuses on the application of the discourse analysis method in geo-environment analyses. Additionally, the study introduces other commonly used research methods in geo-environment analyses, to deepen readers' awareness of the characteristics of discourse analysis. Further, it discusses other possibilities of discourse analysis in future geo-environment analyses. By doing so, this study highlights the status and importance of discourse analysis within Chinese political geography. On this basis, this study uses an empirical case study from the Journal of Contemporary China to discuss global perceptions of China's rise, thus providing an accurate practical guide to explain how discourse analysis should be expanded in empirical case studies. Then, this study addresses the challenges and potential of discourse analysis in the background of an emerging Big Data era. Finally, the study combines the current background of continuous innovation in geographical research methods with discourse analysis. Accordingly, it discusses the possible future role of discourse analysis as a relatively traditional research method in geopolitics, or more generally, within human geography.

Abstract Background Hepatic schistosomiasis, a chronic liver injury induced by long-term Schistosoma japonicum (S. japonicum) infection, is characterized by egg granulomas and fibrotic pathology. Hepatic progenitor cells (HPCs), which are nearly absent or quiescent in normal liver, play vital roles in chronic and severe liver injury. But their role in the progression of liver injury during infection remains unknown. Methods In this study, the hepatic egg granulomas, fibrosis and proliferation of HPCs were analyzed in the mice model of S. japonicum infection at different infectious stages. For validating the role of HPCs in hepatic injury, tumor necrosis factor-like-weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) and TWEAK blocking antibody were used to manipulate the proliferation of HPCs in wild-type and IL-33−/− mice infected with S. japonicum. Results We found that the proliferation of HPCs was accompanied by inflammatory granulomas and fibrosis formation. HPCs expansion promoted liver regeneration and inhibited inflammatory egg granulomas, as well as the deposition of fibrotic collagen. Interestingly, the expression of IL-33 was negatively associated with HPCs’ expansion. There were no obvious differences of liver injury caused by infection between wild-type and IL-33−/− mice with HPCs’ expansion. However, liver injury was more attenuated in IL-33−/− mice than wild-type mice when the proliferation of HPCs was inhibited by anti-TWEAK. Conclusions Our data uncovered a protective role of HPCs in hepatic schistosomiasis in an IL-33-dependent manner, which might provide a promising progenitor cell therapy for hepatic schistosomiasis.

Involving the global issues as listed in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education is necessarily done in the education process, especially in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. Exposure to global issues is known to improve students' understanding, awareness, and ability to solve urgent issues faced by global society. This paper aims to find out the trend of research on the coverage of SDGs in students' learning process. This systematic literature analysis was done by applying Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) Method. A total of 25 studies were recognized through a systematic search by using Sustainability, SDGs, and EFL as keywords. The result shows that the trend of associating SDGs with EFL settings was done mostly in Indonesia. In the recent year 2022, it reached the highest number of studies in the particular matter with 7 total of research. It was also found that the study involving SDGs on EFL learning was mostly done in the tertiary setting, compared with K-12, junior high school, secondary, high school, and other educational institutions. It was also discovered that the specific area of study enhances EFL students' learning achievement, environmental awareness, global citizen values, as well as students' levels of self-norms, beliefs, and self-value.

In contemporary education, game-based learning (GBL) has become a captivating instructional method applied across various academic subjects, including mathematics. The utilization of online GBL in mathematics education constitutes a segment of the activities that mathematics educators can employ during their lessons to teach students and enhance their educational progress. The primary goal of this study was to examine recent research endeavors involving the use of online GBL in mathematics education for Generation Z cohort. To achieve this objective, a systematic review (SR) was carried out to investigate the types of online games employed, analyze previous research methodologies, and explore the educational contexts relevant to mathematics education that align with the needs of Generation Z. An SR process was conducted to gather relevant articles from three databases, namely Science Direct, Scopus, and Springer. Full-text articles were meticulously assessed based on predetermined eligibility criteria. The review revealed many online games suitable for mathematics education, including Augmented Reality, Digital Inquiry Game, E-Rebuild, Math-Island Game, NanoRoboMath, Quizizz, and Wuzzit Trouble. The incorporation of online games in mathematics education offers numerous advantages.

Students' homework emotions greatly influence the quality of homework, learning activities, and even academic achievement and burden. Therefore, encouraging students' positive homework emotions is essential for their development. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between three types of teachers' homework feedback (checking homework on the board, grading homework, and constructive comments), students' positive and negative homework emotions in Chinese subjects while taking into account the mediating effect of academic self-esteem and gender differences in these underlying relationships. 928 elementary school students of 4-6th grade participated in this survey and completed scales. Results showed that (1) checking homework on the board and constructive comments positively impacted students' positive emotions, while checking homework on the board negatively influenced students' negative emotions. In contrast, constructive comments did not impact students' negative emotions. Furthermore, grading homework had no significant effect on students' emotions; (2) academic self-esteem mediated the relationship between teachers' homework feedback and students' homework emotions, and (3) gender moderated some underlying relationships between teachers' homework feedback, students' homework emotions, and academic self-esteem. This study has implications for teachers in designing and choosing high-quality homework feedback, encouraging students' positive homework emotions, and reducing students' negative homework emotions.

The present study examined whether and how early cognitive flexibility, metalinguistic awareness, including phonological awareness (PA) and morphological awareness (MA), Chinese word reading (CWR), and listening comprehension (LC) influenced Chinese children's later reading comprehension. In total, 153 Chinese children were recruited. Path analysis showed that cognitive flexibility measured when the children were in Grade 1 (M[subscript age] = 85.92 months, SD = 4.36) significantly explained the variance of later reading comprehension at Grade 3 (M[subscript age] = 103.03 months, SD = 3.80) and all concurrent domain-specific precursors of reading comprehension, except LC. Multiple mediation analyses further demonstrated that MA and CWR partially mediated the effect of cognitive flexibility on reading comprehension. Also, the effect of cognitive flexibility on reading comprehension was mediated partially by two two-mediator paths, PA-LC and MA-CWR. These findings demonstrated that cognitive flexibility could be related to reading comprehension directly and indirectly through multiple pathways involving metalinguistic awareness, word reading, and language comprehension. These findings particularly highlighted the roles of MA and word reading in the association between Chinese readers' cognitive flexibility and their reading comprehension.

This study explored the impact of interactive e-books on the viewing behaviors of children in science demonstrations at museums. To conduct this study, an interactive e-book on a pendulum experiment was developed and integrated into a physical science demonstration at a museum. Two scientific demonstrations were conducted in this study. The first demonstration was conducted using the conventional science demonstration method, without integrating the interactive e-book into the demonstration. The second was a science demonstration with an integrated interactive e-book. The study analyzed and compared the children's learning motivation, viewing behaviors, and knowledge gained in both demonstrations. The results showed that the different science demonstrations did not significantly affect the children's current knowledge gain or learning motivation. However, the sequence analysis revealed that in the conventional science demonstration without the interactive e-book, children were more engaged in observing the science demonstration, experiment, and instrument operation and interacting with neighboring viewers. In contrast, in the science demonstration with the integration of the interactive e-book, children had more physical involvement, including pointing at the answers in the e-book, swinging their arms with the pendulum animation, and nodding when confused about the expected results. In addition, the children who joined the demonstration with the interactive e-book made more attempts to learn about procedural knowledge. These results demonstrated that both learning modes have similar learning effects on children, indicating the feasibility of the two learning modes. Furthermore, the results revealed that children's needs might differ when engaged in different modes of science demonstrations; for example, conventional modes need more support from companions, whereas e-book modes need more children's physical participation.

Parent education programs are important avenues through which parents of children with developmental delays can learn new skills to help them with child-rearing challenges. However, those in economic hardship often face problems with applying these skills at home where the child's learning and/or behavioral problems commonly occur. In this exploratory qualitative study, we adopted a positive deviance (PD) lens to explore strategies six economically disadvantaged parents used to support their children who were attending special and mainstream preschools concurrently. The PD perspective was first used in public health research with low-resource communities where a few individuals have been observed to adopt uncommon practices and behaviors that enable them to find better ways to prevent social or health problems than their neighbors facing similar constraints and risks. We identified adaptive parental behaviors, thoughts and feelings that helped them navigate daily hassles faced with "dual schooling" their children in Singapore. The study highlights important implications in the development and refinement of future parent training programs.

Doppler peaks extraction from massive raw data is a tricky part of coherent Doppler wind Lidar (CDWL) optimization. In this paper, a hybrid genetic/Powell algorithm (HGAP) is proposed to process the power spectrum of the measured signal from CDWL. The HGAP has excellent global exploration capability, which likes traditional genetic algorithms and fast convergence, which like the Powell method. Hence, the HGAP has advantages to find the center frequency of the Doppler peaks from massive raw data, especially to search multiple peaks in complex wind field measurement. Compared with other notable algorithms, the HGAP shows excellent performance in numerical optimization when we use it to solve 27 typical benchmark functions. Then, our algorithm is used to process the raw data in a field experiment of radial wind measurement. The results show that the HGAP can obtain wind speed components quickly and accurately and has value for application in complex wind field analysis.

We established a model that predicts the possibility of chronic schistosomiasis (CS) patients developing into advanced schistosomiasis (AS) patients using special biomarkers that were detected in human peripheral blood. Blood biomarkers from two cohorts (132 CS cases and 139 AS cases) were examined and data were collected and analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. Fisher discriminant analysis (FDA) for advanced schistosomiasis was established based on specific predictive diagnostic indicators and its accuracy was assessed using data of 109 CS. The results showed that seven indicators including HGB, MON, GLB, GGT, APTT, VIII, and Fbg match the model. The accuracy of the FDA was assessed by cross-validation, and 86.7% of the participants were correctly classified into AS and CS groups. Blood biomarker data from 109 CS patients were converted into the discriminant function to determine the possibility of occurrence of AS. The results demonstrated that the possibility of occurrence of AS and CS was 62.1% and 89.0%, respectively, and the accuracy of the established model was 81.4%. Evidence displayed that Fisher discriminant analysis is a reliable predictive model in the clinical field. It’s an important guide to effectively control the occurrence of AS and lay a solid foundation for achieving the goal of schistosomiasis elimination.

Applications of optical clocks in physical geodesy for determining geopotential are of increasing interest to scientists as the accuracy of optical clocks improves and the clock size becomes more and more compact. In this study, we propose a data processing method using the ensemble empirical mode decomposition technique to determine the geopotential difference between two sites in Wuhan based on the frequency comparison of two optical clocks. We use the frequency comparison record data of two Ca+ optical clocks based on the optical fiber frequency transfer method, provided by the Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Wuhan, China). By optical clock comparisons we obtained a geopotential difference of 42.50 ± 1.03 m2∙s−2 (equivalent to height difference of 4.33 ± 0.11 m) between the two sites, which is excellent compared to the geopotential difference of 42.56 ± 0.29 m2∙s−2 (equivalent to height difference of 4.34 ± 0.03 m) measured by a spirit leveling. The results show that the optical fiber frequency transfer method is promising in determining the geopotential and potential for unifying the world height system.

Numerous studies have revealed an alarming prevalence of test anxiety among Chinese junior high school students. Prevention of test anxiety in this population has become crucial. Brief meditation intervention (BMI) has shown promising results for promoting students' well-being and reducing test anxiety, but its mechanism for reducing test anxiety remains unknown. This study examined the effects of BMI and the roles mindfulness and self-efficacy play in mediating between the intervention and test anxiety. The BMI was optimized in content and form and culturally tailored for Chinese eighth graders. It includes guided meditation with relaxation music, mindful breathing and body scanning, and positive suggestions that promote self-efficacy. Six eighth grade classes at an urban junior high school in Beijing (N = 202, M[subscript age] = 14.14, 102 males) were assigned to either a BMI group (3 classes, N = 103) or a control group (3 classes, N = 99). Test anxiety, mindfulness, and self-efficacy measures were administered before, in the middle of, immediately after, and one month after the intervention. Repeated measures ANOVA and mediation analysis indicated that BMI had a significant effect on reducing test anxiety and enhancing mindfulness and self-efficacy over time. The study also found that mindfulness and self-efficacy played a chain of mediating roles in the relationship between BMI and test anxiety. The mediation effect value accounted for 68.35% of the intervention effects.

Given the need for a swift, systematic way to identify students with internalizing and externalizing behavior patterns to connect these students with appropriate supports, we present new findings of the Student Risk Screening Scale--Internalizing and Externalizing (SRSS-IE). In this article, we examined (a) factor structure of the SRSS-IE and (b) the extent to which measurement invariance holds across gender, special education status, race, and ethnicity, as well as time point (fall, winter, spring) within each school level (elementary, middle, high). The sample includes 124 schools from four U.S. geographic regions in their first year of implementing the SRSS-IE collected over a 10-year span. Using confirmatory factor analysis procedures accounting for the nesting of students within teachers' classrooms, we confirmed a two-factor structure (internalizing and externalizing) and determined three items may be removed from the instrument while maintaining adequate model fit, pending replication with schools in later stages of screening implementation. All model comparisons between configural, metric, scalar, and strict models met invariance criteria within a time point. Longitudinal models also met these invariance criteria. We discuss educational implications, limitations, and directions for future research.

Effects of alloying elements on the equilibrium precipitated phases, incipient and final melting temperature of Mar-M247 superalloy were studied through thermodynamic calculation. The results show that the main phases are γ' precipitates, MC, M6C, M23C6 carbides, μ phases, MB2 and M3B2 borides. Hf and Ta segregate more seriously mostly during solidification process. Around the composition range, Cr, Mo, Ti and Hf influence the initial melting temperature mostly. Precipitation temperature and precipitation amount of carbides increase linearly with the increase of the C content. Furthermore, Hf, Ti and Ta are contributed to the precipitation of MC carbides, Cr improves the precipitation of M23C6 and W and Mo are beneficial to the precipitation of M6C. The precipitation of μ phase is mainly influenced by Mo and W, the precipitation temperature and mass fraction of μ phase increase as the content of Mo and W increase. The precipitation behavior of γ' phase is affected by Al, Ti and Ta contents, and their effects decrease in turn.

The global increase in the number of Alzheimer&apos;s disease (AD) patients has posed numerous treatment challenges. Six Food and Drug Administration-approved medications (e.g., donepezil and memantine) have demonstrated some efficacy but are primarily used to alleviate symptoms. The etiology of AD is unknown, and the blood-brain barrier restricts drug penetration, which severely restricts the use of various therapeutic agents. With their high targeting, long-lasting effect, and multifunctionality, inorganic nanomaterials provide a novel approach to the treatment of AD. A review of inorganic nanoparticles in the diagnosis and therapy of AD. This paper reviews the research literature on the use of inorganic nanomaterials in the treatment of AD. Gold nanoparticles, superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, magnetic nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, and quantum dots are among the inorganic nanomaterials studied. As knowledge of the origins of AD remains limited, the majority of studies on inorganic nanomaterials have primarily focused on interventions on Aβ proteins. Adjusting and enhancing the properties of these inorganic nanomaterials, such as core-shell structure design and surface modification, confer benefits for the treatment of AD. Inorganic nanoparticles have a wide spectrum of therapeutic potential for AD. Despite their potential benefits, however, the safety and translation of inorganic nanomaterials into clinical applications remain formidable obstacles.
