Abstract Rechargeable aqueous zinc-metal batteries, considered as the possible post-lithium-ion battery technology for large-scale energy storage, face severe challenges such as dendrite growth and hydrogen evolution side reaction (HER) on Zn negative electrode. Herein, a three-dimensional Cu-In alloy interface is developed through a facile potential co-replacement route to realize uniform Zn nucleation and HER anticatalytic effect simultaneously. Both theoretical calculations and experimental results demonstrate that this bifunctional Cu-In alloy interface inherits the merits of low Zn-nucleation overpotential and high HER overpotential from individual copper and indium constituents, respectively. Moreover, the dynamical self-reconstruction during cycling leads to an HER-anticatalytic and zincophilic gradient hierarchical structure, enabling highly reversible Zn chemistry with dendrite-free Zn (002) deposition and inhibited HER. Moreover, the improved interface stability featured by negligible pH fluctuations in the diffusion layer and suppressed by-product formation is evidenced by in-situ scanning probe technology, Raman spectroscopy, and electrochemical gas chromatography. Consequently, the lifespan of the CuIn@Zn symmetric cell is extended to more than one year with a voltage hysteresis of 6 mV. Importantly, the CuIn@Zn negative electrode is also successfully coupled with high-loading iodine positive electrode to fabricate Ah-level (1.1 Ah) laminated pouch cell, which exhibits a capacity retention of 67.9% after 1700 cycles.

The integrated development of coal and new energy sources is crucial for the smooth transition of China’s energy system and the security and stable supply of energy. Considering China’s resource endowment and its demand for energy supply security and transformation, this study elaborates on the significance and fundamental conditions regarding the integrated development of coal and new energy sources. Moreover, it summarizes the major forms, technical characteristics, and application status of the integrated development from the aspects of four scenarios: integration of coal mining, coal-fired power generation, coal chemical industry, and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) with new energy sources. Emphasis is placed on five types of technologies: integration of coal development with new energy sources; combined dispatching of wind, solar, thermal, and storage; integration of solar thermal and coal-fired power generation; integration of solar thermal power generation with CCUS; and integration of green hydrogen with the coal chemical industry. Furthermore, this study explores the key technological challenges and breakthrough directions, and proposes the following suggestions: (1) incorporating the integrated development of coal and new energy sources into national strategies; (2) formulating action goals and roadmaps to systematically support the integrated development; (3) strengthening the research and development of technologies regarding coal and new energy sources; and (4) improving fiscal, financial, and talent support policies related to the integrated development.

Abstract The iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs), possessing both magnetic behavior and semiconductor property, have been extensively used in multifunctional biomedical fields due to their biocompatible, biodegradable and low toxicity, such as anticancer, antibacterial, cell labelling activities. Nevertheless, there are few IONPs in clinical use at present. Some IONPs approved for clinical use have been withdrawn due to insufficient understanding of its biomedical applications. Therefore, a systematic summary of IONPs’ preparation and biomedical applications is crucial for the next step of entering clinical practice from experimental stage. This review summarized the existing research in the past decade on the biological interaction of IONPs with animal/cells models, and their clinical applications in human. This review aims to provide cutting-edge knowledge involved with IONPs’ biological effects in vivo and in vitro, and improve their smarter design and application in biomedical research and clinic trials. Abstract Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCMs) have been used for centuries for the treatment and management of various diseases. However, their effective delivery to targeted sites may be a major challenge due to their poor water solubility, low bioavailability, and potential toxicity. Nanocarriers, such as liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, inorganic nanoparticles and organic/inorganic nanohybrids based on active constituents from TCMs have been extensively studied as a promising strategy to improve the delivery of active constituents from TCMs to achieve a higher therapeutic effect with fewer side effects compared to conventional formulations. This review summarizes the recent advances in nanocarrier-based delivery systems for various types of active constituents of TCMs, including terpenoids, polyphenols, alkaloids, flavonoids, and quinones, from different natural sources. This review covers the design and preparation of nanocarriers, their characterization, and in vitro/vivo evaluations. Additionally, this review highlights the challenges and opportunities in the field and suggests future directions for research. Nanocarrier-based delivery systems have shown great potential in improving the therapeutic efficacy of TCMs, and this review may serve as a comprehensive resource to researchers in this field. The evaluation of system performance plays an increasingly important role in the reliability analysis of cyber-physical systems. Factors of external instability affect the evaluation results in complex systems. Taking the running gear in high-speed trains as an example, its complex operating environment is the most critical factor affecting the performance evaluation design. In order to optimize the evaluation while improving accuracy, this paper develops a performance evaluation method based on slow feature analysis and a hidden Markov model (SFA-HMM). The utilization of SFA can screen out the slowest features as HMM inputs, based on which a new HMM is established for performance evaluation of running gear systems. In addition to directly classical performance evaluation for running gear systems of high-speed trains, the slow feature statistic is proposed to detect the difference in the system state through test data, and then eliminate the error evaluation of the HMM in the stable state. In addition, indicator planning and status classification of the data are performed through historical information and expert knowledge. Finally, a case study of the running gear system in high-speed trains is discussed. After comparison, the result shows that the proposed method can enhance evaluation performance.

In order to explore whether the Weiyuan block can effectively carry out three-dimensional development well network deployment, we should first explore whether there is a target layer to meet the three-dimensional development. Based on three-dimensional geological, fracture and rock mechanics models, this paper finds that the absolute stress difference between Longyi14a minor layer and Longyi14b minor layer in the study area is less than 5 MPa, and there is no obvious stress isolation section, and the longitudinal distance of the upper part of Longyi14a minor layer from the top of Longyi11 layer distributes in the range of 18~28 m, which is able to effectively avoid strong inter-well interference with the horizontal wells of Longyi11 layer. So, according to the distribution characteristics of the remaining reserves and reservoir characteristics of Weiyuan block, Longyi14a minor layer is initially preferred as the target for three-dimensional development. In order to further explore the specific layers, based on the original three wells of H3 platform, four threedimensional development schemes with different target layers were designed, deploying L4 and L5 wells in the Longyi13 layer~Longyi14c minor layer, and the Longyi14a minor layer was confirmed as a three-dimensional development target layer system based on numerical simulation results. Finally, in the lower half branch of H3 platform, an “M” type three-dimensional well network pattern with five wells was adopted (three 4a wells of the lower layer Longyi11 layer L1, L2 and L3, and two wells of the upper Longyi14a minor layer - L4 and L5). The three-dimensional well network can increase production for the platform by 1.76×108 m3 and recovery increased from 14.3% to 29.3%, an overall increase of 15%. The relevant understanding can provide a reference for the three-dimensional development strategy of Weiyuan shale gas block.

Abstract Carbon nanofibers films are typical flexible electrode in the field of energy storage, but their application in Zinc-ion hybrid capacitors (ZIHCs) is limited by the low energy density due to the lack of active adsorption sites. In this work, an in-situ exfoliation strategy is reported to modulate the chemisorption sites of carbon nanofibers by high pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen doping and carbonyl functionalization. The experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the highly electronegative pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen dopants can not only greatly reduce the binding energy between carbonyl group and Zn2+ by inducing charge delocalization of the carbonyl group, but also promote the adsorption of Zn2+ by bonding with the carbonyl group to form N–Zn–O bond. Benefit from the multiple highly active chemisorption sites generated by the synergy between carbonyl groups and pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen atoms, the resulting carbon nanofibers film cathode displays a high energy density, an ultralong-term lifespan, and excellent capacity reservation under commercial mass loading (14.45 mg cm‒2). Particularly, the cathodes can also operate stably in flexible or quasi-solid devices, indicating its application potential in flexible electronic products. ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to develop a machine learning model to identify preoperative and intraoperative high-risk factors and to predict the occurrence of permanent stoma in patients after total mesorectal excision (TME).MethodsA total of 1,163 patients with rectal cancer were included in the study, including 142 patients with permanent stoma. We collected 24 characteristic variables, including patient demographic characteristics, basic medical history, preoperative examination characteristics, type of surgery, and intraoperative information. Four machine learning algorithms including extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), random forest (RF), support vector machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbor algorithm (KNN) were applied to construct the model and evaluate the model using k-fold cross validation method, ROC curve, calibration curve, decision curve analysis (DCA) and external validation.ResultsThe XGBoost algorithm showed the best performance among the four prediction models. The ROC curve results showed that XGBoost had a high predictive accuracy with an AUC value of 0.987 in the training set and 0.963 in the validation set. The k-fold cross-validation method was used for internal validation, and the XGBoost model was stable. The calibration curves showed high predictive power of the XGBoost model. DCA curves showed higher benefit rates for patients who received interventional treatment under the XGBoost model. The AUC value for the external validation set was 0.89, indicating that the XGBoost prediction model has good extrapolation.ConclusionThe prediction model for permanent stoma in patients with rectal cancer derived from the XGBoost machine learning algorithm in this study has high prediction accuracy and clinical utility.

Abstract Layered transition‐metal (TM) oxides are ideal hosts for Li+ charge carriers largely due to the occurrence of oxygen charge compensation that stabilizes the layered structure at high voltage. Hence, enabling charge compensation in sodium layered oxides is a fascinating task for extending the cycle life of sodium‐ion batteries. Herein a Ti/Mg co‐doping strategy for a model P2‐Na2/3Ni1/3Mn2/3O2 cathode material is put forward to activate charge compensation through highly hybridized O2pTM3d covalent bonds. In this way, the interlayer OO electrostatic repulsion is weakened upon deeply charging, which strongly affects the systematic total energy that transforms the striking P2–O2 interlayer contraction into a moderate solid‐solution‐type evolution. Accordingly, the cycling stability of the codoped cathode material is improved superiorly over the pristine sample. This study starts a perspective way of optimizing the sodium layered cathodes by rational structural design coupling electrochemical reactions, which can be extended to widespread battery researches.

Drawing on interviews with key informants and historical analysis, this study delves into the intricate web of practices that have shaped the evolution and preservation of Suona music over the centuries. From the oral traditions of family transmission to the structured curriculum of training schools, each method has played a vital role in sustaining this cherished cultural heritage and facilitating literacy transmission in music education. Despite facing challenges such as limited access to formal education and the scarcity of written scores, Suona artists have demonstrated remarkable resilience, adapting to societal changes while maintaining the essence of their craft. As economic growth and cultural shifts reshape rural communities, the demand for Suona ensemble music continues to grow, prompting innovations in teaching and learning methods. Through a blend of tradition and innovation, Suona ensemble music remains a vibrant and enduring expression of Chinese folk culture, enriching the lives of both practitioners and audiences alike.

Abstract Implementing fast‐charging lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) is severely hindered by the issues of Li plating and poor rate capability for conventional graphite anode. Wadsley–Roth phase TiNb2O7 is regarded as a promising anode candidate to satisfy the requirements of fast‐charging LIBs. However, the unsatisfactory electrochemical kinetics resulting from sluggish ion and electron transfer still limit its wide applications. Herein, an effective strategy is proposed to synchronously improve the ion and electron transfer of TiNb2O7 by incorporation of oxygen vacancy and N‐doped graphene matrix (TNO−x@N‐G), which is designed by combination of solution‐combustion and electrostatic self‐assembly approach. Theoretical calculations demonstrate that Li+ intercalation gives rise to the semi‐metallic characteristics of lithiated phases (LiyTNO−x), leading to the self‐accelerated electron transport. Moreover, in situ X‐ray diffraction and Raman measurements reveal the highly reversible structural evolution of the TNO−x@N‐G during cycling. Consequently, the TNO−x@N‐G delivers a higher reversible capacity of 199.0 mAh g−1 and a higher capacity retention of 86.5% than those of pristine TNO (155.8 mAh g−1, 59.4%) at 10 C after 2000 cycles. Importantly, various electrochemical devices including lithium‐ion full battery and hybrid lithium‐ion capacitor by using the TNO−x@N‐G anode exhibit excellent rate capability and cycling stability, verifying its potential in practical applications.

Summary: Although Li-metal anodes are extremely attractive owing to the ultrahigh theoretical specific capacity, the low Coulombic efficiency and severe safety hazards resulting from uncontrollable Li dendrites growth hinder their widespread implementation. Herein, we propose a novel design of Ni macropore arrays for the functional Li deposition host. Benefiting from the regulated electric field distribution, Li nucleation and growth can be well confined within conductive Ni macropores. Consequently, the Ni macropore array electrode exhibits stable Li deposition behavior, i.e., high Coulombic efficiency of above 97% over 400 cycles for 1.0 mAh cm−2. Most importantly, the LiFePO4 || Li-Ni macropore arrays full cell also shows greatly enhanced cycling stability (90.3 mAh g−1 at 1 C after 700 cycles), holding great promise for high-performance rechargeable Li metal batteries.

Abstract Kai-xin-san (KXS) is a famous Chinese medicinal formula applied for treating stress-related psychiatric diseases with the symptoms such as depression, forgetfulness and dizziness. In clinic, the composition ratio of KXS is always varied and KXS series formulae are created. Here, we aim to compare the anti-depressive effect of different ratios of KXS and reveal its action mechanism on regulation of neurotrophic factor system. Firstly, daily intra-gastric administration of chemically standardized extracts of KXS series formulae for seven days significantly alleviated the depressive symptoms of chronic unpredictable mild stressed mice displayed by enhanced sucrose consumptions and decreased immobile time of forced swimming coupled with increased locomotor activities. KXS might fulfill this effect by up-regulating the expressions of NGF, BDNF and Trk receptors in hippocampus, which were confirmed by the treatment of corresponding blockers tPA-stop and K252a. The ratio with higher amounts of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Polygalae Radix exerted most profound effect on anti-depression and regulation enzymes in metabolic pathway of neurotrophic factors. These findings suggested that KXS was beneficial for enhancing supplies, up-regulating receptors, and restoring the dysfunction of metabolic pathway of neurotrophic factors, which might account for its anti-depression effect.

The experiments involving a slider moving on top of granular media consisting of photoelastic particles in two dimensions have uncovered elaborate dynamics that may vary from continuous motion to crackling, periodic motion, and stick-slip type of behavior. We establish that there is a clear correlation between the slider dynamics and the response of the force network that spontaneously develop in the granular system. This correlation is established by application of the persistence homology that allows for formulation of objective measures for quantification of time-dependent force networks. We find that correlation between the slider dynamics and the force network properties is particularly strong in the dynamical regime characterized by well-defined stick-slip type of dynamics.

With the rapid development of social economy, energy shortage and environmental pollution are becoming more and more serious, and clean energy power generation has become one of the measures to implement the sustainable development strategy. A large number of small and medium-sized hydropower stations in Southwest China have a large amount of surplus water due to light load and channel blockage. In response to this problem, a method of coupling the natural gas system and the power system using P2G and gas turbines is proposed to improve the absorption capacity of hydropower and reduce the amount of surplus water. In this article, a day-ahead economic dispatch model of electricity-gas coupling system(EGCS) is established with the goal of the lowest operating cost of the whole system, considering the output characteristics of run-off hydropower stations, natural gas system operation constraints, power system AC power flow and other constraints, and solve the model using the interior point method. The analysis of the calculation example shows that compared with the independent system, the EGCS can effectively reduce the amount of surplus water, improve the utilization rate of clean energy, and reduce the operating cost of the system. The rationality and effectiveness of the model are verified.

TA32 is a heat-resistant titanium alloy developed for superplastic forming in fabrication of near-space supersonic aerocraft. Clarification of superplastic deformation behavior is important to the optimization of forming parameters. Superplastic tensile test was conducted in vacuum to eliminate the effect of surface oxidation on experimental data, the test temperature and strain rate varied from 900oC to 960oC and 5.32×10-4 to 2.08×10-2s-1, respectively. It was observed that the size of equiaxed α grains exhibited a trend of coarsening with the increase of temperature and decrease of strain rate. Textures of deformed specimens exhibited random distribution with a decreased texture intensity compared with the as-received materials. The superplastic deformation mechanism of TA32 alloy was dominated by grain boundary sliding, which is accommodated by grain rotation and dynamic recrystallization.

An environment-friendly biomaterial bacterial cellulose (BC) is introduced to substitute general organic polymers to assist the preparation of ZnO/CdS/BC photocatalyst hybrid nanofiber through coprecipitation method under the low-temperature condition. The XRD, XPS, and SEM results show that high load of ZnO/CdS/BC ternary hybrid fiber can be produced. TGA curves scan shows that ZnO/CdS/BC hybrid fiber has better thermal properties than bacterial cellulose. The UV-Vis spectra of the ZnO/CdS/BC hybrid nanofiber (0, 10, 20, and 50 wt%, resp.) show that photocatalytic activities of ZnO/CdS/BC are influenced by the added amount of CdS. The degradation curve of methyl shows that ZnO/CdS/BC nanohybrid fibers exhibit excellent photocatalytic efficiency.
