- Abstract
The radicular inflammatory cyst develops at the apex of odontogenic roots where the inflammation persists for a long time. Some therapies can help complement treatment, such as the use of fibrin-rich plasma (L-PRF). Sticky bone is a mixture of autologous fibrin glue and bone graft, allowing the material to be modeled. The association of these materials accelerates tissue regeneration. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) presents excellent results for the treatment of bacterial infections and promotes greater postoperative comfort. This work reports a clinical case of a 31-year-old patient, referred for treatment of a cystic lesion. The procedure was performed under local anesthesia. After gaining access, enucleation and curettage of the lesion were performed. The collected material was sent for anatomopathological examination, apicoectomy of teeth 21, 22 and 23 and retrograde filling were performed. PDT was performed and the sticky bone graft associated with L-PRF was placed. After 1 year of follow-up, satisfactory results were observed in the clinical and imaging examination. The use of complementary therapies in the reconstructive treatment of oral lesions can benefit bone healing and photodynamic therapy contributes to the prevention of local infections and a better postoperative period.
