The study examines the relationship between money supply and inflation in Vietnam in the period of 2005-2021. The relationship between money supply and inflation is addressed in economic theories and models and has been studied by many experts in different economies in different periods. To examine the relationship between money supply and inflation in Vietnam in the period of 2005-2021, the research team collected data on money supply and inflation rate, then analyzed this relationship during three periods of 2005-2011, 2012-2019 and 2019-2021. Next, the research team collected data on money supply (MS - total means of payment) and consumer price index (CPI), quarterly data from the first quarter of 2005 to the fourth quarter of 2021 and uses Eviews 8 software for analyzing. The research team uses a linear regression model to evaluate the impact of money supply growth (GMS) on consumer price index (CPI), a variable representing the inflation rate, of Vietnam during the research period. The model results support the view that money supply growth and past inflation are among the factors affecting inflation in Vietnam. From the research results and the actual money supply, the money supply growth rate as well as the inflation rate in Vietnam during the research period, the research team makes some policy recommendations to achieve the targets of supporting economic recovery, controlling inflation, stabilizing the macro-economy in Vietnam after the Covid-19 pandemic.

CuSO4/hydrazine hydrate was used as a catalyst system for copper(I)-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) of AZT and 5′-azido adenosine with terminal alkynes to give 30 novel 1,2,3-triazole derivatives. Screening for their anticancer, anti-inflammatory, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), and 3C-like protease (3CLpro) inhibitory activities showed that several triazoles of AZT containing murayafoline A and indirubin-3′-oxime inhibited the growth of HepG2 and LU-1 with the IC50 values ranging from 11.01 to 19.87 μg/mL. Besides that, some triazole derivatives of adenosine exhibited anti-inflammatory activity against RAW264.7 cells with the IC50 values within an interval of 12.00–59.48.00 μg/mL. Especially, two triazoles of adenosine with indirubin-3′-oxime at O- and N1 positions expressed the ACE2 and 3CLpro inhibitory activities in which the triazole of adenosine with indirubin-3′-oxime at N1 inhibited both ACE2 and 3CLpro inhibitory activities with IC50 values of 135.62 and 142.95 μg/mL, respectively.

Eleven conjugates between dihydroartemisinin (DHA) with thiols containing both ether and thioether bonds were designed, synthesized by a two-step procedure including etherification and S-alkylation. Analysis of the NMR spectral data indicated that the dimer of DHA with thiols 6-mercaptopurine and 2-mercaptoimidazole was produced with yields of 31% and 62%, respectively. Furthermore, the tautomerization of thiol 5-methoxy-2-mercaptobenzimidazole led to the formation of a mixture of two isomers in which they might be interchangeable through a dynamic tautomeric equilibrium in the solution. Screening in vitro biological activities revealed that most of the synthesized conjugates showed good cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activity, while three of them displayed α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Notably, two conjugates 5d and 5e of DHA with thiols 2-mercaptopyrimidine and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole had an effect in all tested activities in which conjugate 5e is the most potent.

Abstract Background Varicocele presents as the most frequent cause of infertility in men. Most reports showed that varicocelectomy has a significant impact on male fertility and reproductive outcome. This study aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of scrotal–inguinal microsurgical varicocelectomy in treating male infertility. Methods We prospectively studied preoperatively and postoperatively (at 3 and 6 months) 86 consecutive patients diagnosed with varicocele, abnormal semen parameters, and infertility, undergoing scrotal–inguinal microsurgical varicocelectomy. Semen test was performed before surgery and at 3 months and 6 months after surgery. The reproductive events were short-term followed up. Results The median age of the patient was 32.9 ± 5.1 (20–43). Two cases (2.7%) had a minor infection of the scrotum incision, who were well treated by appropriate antibiotics. After operation, total sperm count and the percentage of motile sperms at 3 months and 6 months were significantly higher than those pre-varicocelectomy, respectively. In total, 26.7% (23/86) of all couples achieved a spontaneous pregnancy. Late complications such as testicular atrophy, hydroceles, and recurrent varicocele have not occurred. Conclusions Scrotal–inguinal microsurgical varicocelectomy is an acceptable method in treating male infertility due to high rate of reproductive outcomes and very low rate of complications.

This study aims to determine the governance factors that influence the scientific research output of lecturers through the application of PLS-SEM, in conjunction with ANOVA and t-test. Based on a survey of 398 lecturers in twelve higher education institutions (HEIs) in Vietnam, the psychometric properties of the scales measuring the considered dimensions of scientific research outputs were initially examined through the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) procedure, prior to being input into the PLS-SEM model. The SEM model comprised six constructs for the scientific research outputs: scientific research objectives of HEIs, leadership, decentralization, policies for lecturers, support for scientific research activities, and resources for scientific research. The results reveal that resources for scientific research have the most impact on lecturers’ scientific research output, followed by policies for lecturers, support for scientific research activities, scientific research objectives of HEIs, and finally, leadership.

- Abstract
Background. Emergency groin hernia is an understudied research field despite its severity requiring emergency surgery associated with high postoperative morbidity and mortality rates. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy, critical technical elements, and management of problems associated with the transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) laparoscopic technique for adult patients in need of an emergency groin hernia repair. Methods. We analyzed adult patients who were treated between January 2021 and March 2023 for emergency groin hernia repair. These patients' preoperative data were examined. Results. The surgery was successfully performed on all 21 patients. The duration of the surgery was 71.6±19.7 minutes (range, 45–120 minutes). The hospitalization time was 3.2±2.2 days (range, 2–5 days). Conclusions. The TAPP approach is a secure and efficient method for performing emergency groin hernia repair in adults due to its ability to evaluate hernia content and reduce the incidence of incisional infection. Warming in mountain regions is projected to be three times faster than the global average. Pronounced climate change will likely lead to species reshuffling in mountain plant communities and consequently change ecosystem resilience and functioning. Yet, little is known about the role of inter‐ versus intraspecific changes of plant traits and their consequences for functional richness and evenness of mountain plant communities under climate change. We performed a downslope translocation experiment of intact plant‐soil mesocosms from an alpine pasture and a subalpine grassland in the Swiss and Austrian Alps to simulate an abrupt shift in climate and removal of dispersal barriers. Translocated plant communities experienced warmer and dryer climatic conditions. We found a considerable shift from resource conservative to resource acquisitive leaf‐economy in the two climate change scenarios. However, shifts in leaf‐economy were mainly attributable to species turnover, namely colonization by novel lowland species with trait expressions for a wider range of resource use. We also found an increase in vegetative height of the warmed and drought‐affected alpine plant community, while trait plasticity to warming and drought was limited to few graminoid species of the subalpine plant community. Our results highlight the contrast between the strong competitive potential of novel lowland species in quickly occupying available niche space and native species' lack of both the intraspecific trait variability and the plant functional trait expressions needed to increase functional richness under warming and drought. This is particularly important for the trailing range of many mountain species (i.e. subalpine zone) where upward moving lowland species are becoming more abundant and abiotic climate stressors are likely to become more frequent in the near future. Our study emphasizes mountain plant communities' vulnerability to novel climates and biotic interactions under climate change and highlights graminoid species as potential winners of a warmer and dryer future. This paper explores how land-based financing mechanisms are currently used in Ho Chi Minh City as a public-private funding strategy. The Landfor- Infrastructure (LFI) mechanism appears as a solution to produce infrastructures. We found that the implementation of the LFI mechanism remains difficult, but eventually can lead to success. By 'trial-errortranscend,' the City managed to build two essential roads while the developers received attractive investment opportunities in urban development. This mechanism cannot, however, be seen as a panacea for the local authorities due to constraints to replicate it and potential undesired 'side effects.' [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

METAL-insulator transitions , *BOSONS , *MEAN field theory , *RENORMALIZATION group , *ELECTRON configuration - Abstract
Metal-insulator transitions in a three-component Falicov-Kimball model are investigated within the Kotliar- Ruckenstein slave boson mean-field approach. The model describes a mixture of two interacting fermion atom species loaded into an optical lattice at ultralow temperature. One species is two-component atoms, which can hop in the optical lattice, and the other is single-component atoms, which are localized. Different correlation-driven metal-insulator transitions are observed depending on the atom filling conditions and local interactions. These metal-insulator transitions are classified by the band renormalization factors and the double occupancies of the atom species. The filling conditions and the critical value of the local interactions for these metal-insulator transitions are also analytically established. The obtained results not only are in good agreement with the dynamical mean-field theory for the three-component Falicov-Kimball model but also clarify the nature and properties of the metal-insulator transitions in a simple physics picture. We show that by introducing isoelectronic iron (Fe) magnetic impurities and Beryllium (Be) double-donor atoms into InAs, it is possible to grow an n-type ferromagnetic semiconductor (FMS) with the ability to control ferromagnetism by both Fe and independent carrier doping by low-temperature molecular-beam epitaxy. We demonstrate that (In,Fe)As doped with electrons behaves as an n-type electron-induced FMS. This achievement opens the way to realize spin-devices such as spin light-emitting diodes or spin field-effect transistors, as well as helps to understand the mechanism of carrier-mediated ferromagnetism in FMSs. This research paper focuses on examining the relationship between the cash conversion cycle (CCC) and the profitability of Food and Beverage (F&B) companies in Vietnam by utilizing quantitative models. Analyzing a sample of 23 companies in the period from 2015 to 2021, the study revealsthat a reduction in the CCC positively influences profitability, as measured by the return on assets (ROA) ratio. The study further dissects the impact of CCC’s components, including days payable outstanding (DPO), days inventory outstanding (DIO), and days sales outstanding (DSO), on profitability. Based on regression analysis results, the study recommends that companies under study endeavor to reduce the durations of DPO, DIO, DSO, and CCC to improve profitability. Implementing strategies to tighten credit policies and optimize capital utilization is suggested as a means to achieve this objective.

Different types of OCR errors often occur in OCR texts due to the low quality of scanned document images or limitations in OCR software. In this paper, we propose a novel unsupervised approach for OCR error correction. Correction candidates for OCR errors are generated and explored in their neighborhoods using correction character edits controlled by an adapted hill-climbing algorithm. Correction characters are extracted from only original ground truth texts, which do not depend on OCR texts in training data. A weighted objective function used to score and rank correction candidates is heuristically tested to find optimal weight combinations. The proposed model is evaluated on an OCR text dataset originating from the Vietnamese handwritten database in the ICFHR 2018 Vietnamese online handwritten text recognition competition. The proposed model is also verified concerning its stability and complexity. The experimental results show that our model achieves competitive performance compared to the other models in the ICFHR 2018 competition.

Emergence of the topological invariant and the magnetic moment in topological insulators doped with magnetic impurities is studied based on a mutual cooperation between the spin-orbit coupling of electrons and the spin exchange of these electrons with magnetic impurity moments. The mutual cooperation is realized based on the Kane-Mele model in the presence of magnetic impurities. The topological invariants and the spontaneous magnetization are self-consistently determined within the dynamical mean-field theory. We find different magnetic topological phase transitions, depending on the electron filling. At half filling an antiferromagnetic topological insulator, which exhibits the quantum spin Hall effect, exists in the phase region between the paramagnetic topological insulator and the trivially topological antiferromagnetic insulator. At quarter and three-quarter fillings, a ferromagnetic topological insulator, which exhibits the quantum anomalous Hall effect, occurs in the strong spin-exchange regime. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
