Competition in tourism has become one of the main concerns in destination management in those countries where tourism development has taken a step forward. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the present development of the Santa Lucia tourist cluster compared to its nearest internal competitors; to identify its competitive position in order to propose actions and alternatives that support its improvement as a tourist destination and so to contribute to attaining a more competitive "Cuba Destination" in the Caribbean context. To obtain a comparative appraisal of clusters with similar tourism services, systems of attractions, and markets, an application based on fuzzy logic that applies preference relations has been developed in the methodological procedure. This allows for a hierarchical arrangement within the whole of compared destinations and facilitates decision-making in this environment with its uncertainties and non-lineal approaches.
