This literature review seeks to map the state of research on the effects of digitization on personal financial behavior and management through a bibliometric analysis and a systematic literature review. The findings indicate that current knowledge is primarily based on perspectives of actors in commerce and systems development. More research is needed on how personal financial behavior change in relation to digital technology, the vulnerability of children and adolescents, and the links between changes in credit behavior and indebtedness. Financial counseling could benefit from an awareness of young adults vulnerability as digital consumers and an extended perception of financial literacy that encompasses requirements of digital society. Policymakers need to be aware of the consequences of digital measurability.

Introduction: In human-agent interaction, trust is often measured using human-trust constructs such as competence, benevolence, and integrity, however, it is unclear whether technology-trust constructs such as functionality, helpfulness, and reliability are more suitable. There is also evidence that perception of "humanness" measured through anthropomorphism varies based on the characteristics of the agent, but dimensions of anthropomorphism are not highlighted in empirical studies. Methods: In order to study how different embodiments and qualities of speech of agents influence type of trust and dimensions of anthropomorphism in perception of the agent, we conducted an experiment using two agent "bodies", a speaker and robot, employing four levels of "humanness of voice", and measured perception of the agent using human-trust, technology-trust, and Godspeed series questionnaires. Results: We found that the agents elicit both human and technology conceptions of trust with no significant difference, that differences in body and voice of an agent have no significant impact on trust, even though body and voice are both independently significant in anthropomorphism perception. Discussion: Interestingly, the results indicate that voice may be a stronger characteristic in influencing the perception of agents (not relating to trust) than physical appearance or body. In this conceptual article, we argue that artificial intelligence (AI) systems are contributing to the generation of an environment of affordances for everyday information practices through which they exert influence on people and the planet in ways that often are left unrecognized. We illustrate our insights by focusing on the practices of information seeking in everyday life, suggesting that the affordances of AI systems integrated into search engines, social media platforms, streaming services, and media generation, shape such practices in ways that may, paradoxically, result both in the increase and reduction of diversity of and access to information. We discuss the potential implications of these developments in terms of the sustainability of information ecosystems and suggest solutions for addressing them through regulation and education. Drawing from the fields of library and information science and science and technology studies and research on affordances, everyday information practices, and sustainability, the article seeks to respond to the need for more nuanced theoretical insights on the impact and implications of AI on information practices and to develop conceptual tools with which to examine the co‐evolution of humans and information systems from a systemic perspective. In the context of geo-infrastructures and specifically tunneling projects, analyzing the large-scale sensor-based measurement-while-drilling (MWD) data plays a pivotal role in assessing rock engineering conditions. However, handling the big MWD data due to multiform stacking is a time-consuming and challenging task. Extracting valuable insights and improving the accuracy of geoengineering interpretations from MWD data necessitates a combination of domain expertise and data science skills in an iterative process. To address these challenges and efficiently normalize and filter out noisy data, an automated processing approach integrating the stepwise technique, mode, and percentile gate bands for both single and peer group-based holes was developed. Subsequently, the mathematical concept of a novel normalizing index for classifying such big datasets was also presented. The visualized results from different geo-infrastructure datasets in Sweden indicated that outliers and noisy data can more efficiently be eliminated using single hole-based normalizing. Additionally, a relational unified PostgreSQL database was created to store and automatically transfer the processed and raw MWD as well as real time grouting data that offers a cost effective and efficient data extraction tool. The generated database is expected to facilitate in-depth investigations and enable application of the artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to predict rock quality conditions and design appropriate support systems based on MWD data. Construction and infrastructure projects account for a large share of global greenhouse gas emissions. Included in these projects are geotechnical engineering works, which cause environmental impact and costs throughout their life cycle. In the geotechnical design process, the geotechnical engineer often has design choices where different methods and materials can be used. If assessments of environmental impact and costs were to be integrated into the geotechnical design process, the geotechnical work could be made more sustainable. As a result of this, there is a need for research on integrating the assessments of environmental impact and costs into the geotechnical design process. This paper, therefore, presents a methodology showing how life-cycle assessment and life-cycle cost analysis could be integrated into the geotechnical design process. The presented methodology is then illustrated in a practical example for assessing the climate impact and costs of high-speed railway embankment fill methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper describes the instrumentation, execution and performance of two full-scale tests where a braced steel sheet pile wall interacting with rows of overlapping dry deep mixing columns was excavated and then loaded to failure. The purpose of these tests was to provide knowledge of the behavior of deep mixing column rows located in the passive zone and interacting with a retaining structure. Both tests were extensively instrumented on the active as well as on the passive side of the retaining structure. In both conducted tests a stability failure of the retaining structure occurred, resulting in heave at the bottom of the excavation and large settlements of the ground surface behind the sheet pile wall. For a spacing between lime-cement (LC)-panels of 3.0 m, a very brittle failure developed suddenly in the clay between the panels with small deformations prior to failure. In the second test, with a spacing of 1.5 m between LC-panels, the failure developed in the LC-panels as well as in the clay between the panels. Even if a similar failure mechanism developed, measured horizontal displacements, horizontal stresses, and pore pressure response prior to failure differed between the tests. Le but de ces essais etait de fournir des connaissances sur le comportement de rangees de colonnes a melange profondes situees dans la zone passive et en interaction avec une structure de retenue. Les deux tests ont ete abondamment instrumentees sur la matiere active, ainsi que sur la partie passive de la structure de retenue. Dans les deux essais effectues, un echec de la stabilite de la structure de retenue est produit, entrainant le soulevement du fond de l'excavation et de grands tassements de la surface du sol derriere le mur en palplanches. Pour un espacement entre les panneaux LC de 3,0 m, un echec tres fragile s'est developpe soudainement dans l'argile entre les panneaux avec de petites deformations avant l'echec. Dans le deuxieme essai, avec un espacement de 1,5 m entre les panneaux LC, l'echec s'est developpe dans les panneaux de chaux-ciment (LC), ainsi que dans l'argile entre les panneaux. For staging the construction of embankments on soft clay, an important aspect in deterministic or probabilistic stability analyses is the assessment of the representative average values and associated uncertainties for the undrained shear strength as the height of the embankment is sequentially increased. Assessments made prior to construction can be verified by performing observations during the construction phase. All relevant available information should be incorporated into an analysis to increase the level of confidence and the objectivity of the assessment. To this end, we apply an extended multivariate approach to assess the undrained shear strength using different indirect measurement methods during the staged construction of the Veda embankment (Sweden). This multivariate approach implies that uncertainties associated with the assessments are reduced, and objectively weighted averages are obtained. The resulting implications on the calculated deterministic safety factors and the probabilistically retrieved reliability indices of the embankment are thoroughly discussed in this work. Rock tunnel construction is associated with considerable geotechnical uncertainty, often due to limited knowledge about the ground conditions. This warrants the use of stringent risk management procedures to reduce the likelihood of cost increases, delays, and structural failure events. The observational method is often promoted as a tool to achieve cost-effective designs in cases of large geotechnical uncertainty, but its practical use is still limited. One reason may be the lack of guidelines and experiences from previous projects where the observational method has been used. In this paper, we therefore present a case study of the design and construction of the tunnel under the Hvalfjörður fjord in Iceland, where the observational method played a key role in the risk management that was performed to deal with the challenging geological conditions at the site. The project was a success and completed four months earlier than originally planned. In light of the case study, we discuss the definition of the observational method in Eurocode 7 and the related contractual aspects to consider in such projects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Important features of the multivariate approach are discussed, and an extension to this approach is proposed whereby the total uncertainty in site investigation methods due to spatial averaging is assessed prior to its adoption. Results from a site investigation of spatially averaged values of undrained shear strength ([[bar.S].sub.u]) and the corresponding coefficient of variation ([MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]) in Veda sulphide clay were used as a practical illustration of the extended multivariate approach and provide a basis for discussion. The inherent variability and scales of fluctuation for different methods are presented. The study shows the usefulness of the extended multivariate approach for the evaluation of representative values of [[bar.S].sub.u] and [MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII] based on results from different methods. It is also a way of implicitly reducing the transformation errors that arise when a property is derived from measurement results. Nevertheless, considerable care must be taken as a much lower COV for one method will have a significant impact on the results.
