Aims: To identify studies and the content of the interventions that have facilitated the implementation of pressure injury (PI) prevention measures in nursing home settings. Design and Method: A scoping review methodology was employed. The author has carried out the following steps successively: Identified this scoping review's questions, retrieved potentially relevant studies, selected relevant studies, charted the data, summarised the results, and consulted with stakeholders from nursing homes in China. Data Sources: Six electronic databases and three resources of grey literature—PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science Core Collection, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Psych INFO, Open Grey, MedNar, ProQuest Dissertations, and Theses Full Texts were searched from January 2002 through May 2022. Results: Forty articles were included, among which the primary interventions were quality improvement, training and education, evidence‐based practice, device‐assisted PI prophylaxis, nursing protocols, and clinical decision support systems. Twenty‐three outcome indicators were summarised in 40 articles, which included 10 outcome indicators, seven process indicators, and six structural indicators. Furthermore, only five articles reported barriers in the process of implementing interventions. Conclusion: The common interventions to promote the implementation of PI prevention measures in nursing homes are quality improvement, training, and education. Relatively limited research has been conducted on evidence‐based practice, clinical decision support systems, device‐assisted PI prophylaxis, and nursing protocols. In addition, there is a paucity of studies examining the impediments to implementing these measures and devising targeted solutions. Therefore, it is recommended that future studies include analysis and reporting of barriers and facilitators as part of the article to improve the sustainability of the intervention. Impact: This article reminds nursing home managers that they should realise the importance of implementation strategies between the best evidence of PI prevention and clinical practice. Also, this review provides the types, contents, and outcome indicators of these strategies for managers of nursing homes to consider what types of interventions to implement in their organisations. This article considers the design and stability of networked control systems with random delay in signal transmission channels. To deal with the random delay, a networked predictive control strategy is proposed for discrete networked systems. The key parts of the control strategy are the control prediction generator that provides a set of future control predictions and the network delay compensator that compensates for the network transmission delay. The analytical stability criteria of the closed-loop networked predictive control systems are derived for both fixed and random network delays. The proposed networked predictive control method is illustrated using simulations and practical Intranet-/Internet-based control experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper describes a novel control technique to deal with networked control systems with random communication time delay, which is known to highly degrade the control performance of the controlled system. This problem can be solved using a modified model predictive control, which uses the future control sequence to compensate for the forward communication time delay. Also, using a model predictor, the time delay in the backward channel can be compensated as well. Another key part of this paper is to analyse the stability of the networked control systems. The analytical criteria are obtained for both fixed and random communication time delays. The simulation results and practical experiments illustrate that the proposed controller design is realistic. Background: Recent years, percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) has gained wide clinical acceptance as an effective treatment option for patients with intractable pain related to compression fractures of the spine. But little is known about PVP for spinal malignant lesions with epidural involvement in patients with neurologic deficit. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of PVP for malignant vertebral compression fractures with symptoms of neurologic compression following percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP), and evaluate the predictive factors for poor outcomes following PVP. Methods: Forty-three patients with malignant vertebral compression fractures with symptoms of neurologic compression were treated with PVP. Patients were classified into 2 groups according to the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) impairment scale at the last follow-up. Data were collected and the patients followed-up at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months and yearly after the procedure. Univariate and multivariate analysis was performed to evaluate factors predictive of poor neurologic compression symptoms recovery. Results: PVP were successful in all patients. Full recovery from (n = 2) or improvement of (n = 16) neurologic compression symptoms were achieved in 18 patients (Group A), and no improvement of neurologic compression symptoms in 25 patients (Group A). Univariate analysis showed more PMMA leakage (P = 0.038) and less PMMA volume injection (P < 0.001) was associated with the poor symptoms of neurologic compression recovery, and multivariate analysis showed that less PMMA volume injection (P = 0.004) was an independent predictor for poor symptom of neurologic compression recovery. Conclusion: Our results indicated PVP should not be served as an effective treatment of malignant compression fractures with symptoms of neurologic compression, and less PMMA volume injection was an independent predictor of poor symptom of neurologic compression recovery.
