The optimal recanalization goal and number of endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) passes for elderly patients with large vessel occlusion strokes is unclear. Consecutive patients 80 years or older undergoing EVT were identified from 2016 to 2022 at a single center. Clinical information, procedural details, and modified treatment in cerebral ischemia (mTICI) scores were collected. Primary outcome was modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 90 days. Bivariate and multivariable analyses were conducted to assess associations between mTICI scores, EVT passes, and 90-day outcomes. One hundred twenty-six patients were identified. At 90 days, mTICI 2b recanalization resulted in high rates of poor outcomes (8.7% functional independence and 60.9% mortality) not significantly different from mTICI 0, 1 or 2a (median mRS 6 vs. 6, P = 0.61). Complete recanalization (mTICI 2c or 3) led to significantly better mRS outcomes at 90 days compared to mTICI 2b (median mRS 4 vs. 6, adjusted P = 0.038), with 26.8% functional independence and 37.8% mortality. In multivariable analysis, complete recanalization was significantly associated with better 90-day outcomes than mTICI 2b or lower recanalization (odds ratio 4.24 [95% Confidence interval 1.46–12.3]; P = 0.002), while the number of passes was not independently associated with worse outcomes (P = 0.98). For octogenarians, mTICI 2b recanalization yields limited clinical benefit and results in poor 90-day outcomes. In contrast, complete recanalization is independently associated with significantly better outcomes. Thus, once the decision is made to pursue EVT in the elderly, mTICI 2c or better recanalization should be the angiographic goal. Providers should not withhold thrombectomy passes based on age alone. The paper presents the results of a simulation on a 3D model of undeformed chips and cutting forces during three-pass gear cutting using the power skiving method. At the level of individual blades and teeth in successive angular cutting positions, the main component of the cutting force and the tangential force on the cutter axis are shown. The analysis of the forces acting on a single gear tooth and the continuous cutting forces allowed the development of a methodology for the selection of rational cutting modes - the value of the axial feed, the number of passes with different cutting depths in order to ensure the minimum time consumption and to achieve the required accuracy of the gears in terms of the parameter of the permissible angular deviation of the profile of the cut gear. It is shown that, provided the required machining accuracy is ensured, higher productivity is achieved by increasing the axial feed at a lower depth of cut and increasing the number of passes, rather than by reducing the feed and increasing the depth of cut. Background: The Six Nations represents the oldest and most famous rugby tournament in the world. The several types running, of technical and of tactical in the team sports such as rugby, basketball, and soccer, vary according to physical characteristics and sports. In particular, in the rugby the running is characterized by continuous acceleration and deceleration phases, which entail a greater physical and mental commitment. Aim: The aim of this study has been of analyzed and comparison, through the video analysis, the quality of the play of the six rugby teams that participated at tournament of the Six Nations 2018 and the impact that these aspects had on the final result. Methods: The data sample is represented by the matches played and from the technical variables detected the video analysis of the matches examined. Results: The findings of this study offer valuable insights for coaches aiming to optimize training and tailor the training load based on both gender and young players. This optimization pertains to the development of coordination and conditioning skills, as well as the technical and tactical experiences of the players. Therefore, it is imperative to assess and continually monitor training, incorporating tools such as video analysis and GPS, to analyze technical and tactical aspects. This approach is a crucial element in performance control. Conclusions: The Irish national team managed to emerge thanks to the high number of passes made, a remarkable technical precision and a superior team organization of the team which allowed them to reach 26% of the goals in the tournament, underscoring that the effectiveness of ball movement in isolation does not ensure victory. Background As the number of thrombectomy passes increases during endovascular therapy (EVT) for acute stroke, neurointerventionalists must weigh the risks of potential complications against the risk of failing to recanalize the affected vessel. Thus, we investigated the effectiveness and safety of EVT for patients with acute stroke in which ≥5 EVT passes were performed. Methods This retrospective cohort study from January 2013 to December 2022 included 31 thrombectomy‐capable centers. Patients in whom ≥5 EVT passes were made were included in the analysis. The patients with successful recanalization defined as modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction ≥2b at 5, 6, 7, or more passes were compared with unsuccessful recanalization. We also compared procedure time, separated by 30 minutes. Primary outcome was a favorable 90‐day outcome (modified Rankin scale score of 0–2). Secondary outcomes were intracranial hemorrhage and death. Results A total of 407 patients met the inclusion criteria, of which 175 were women (43.1%); the mean age was 67.3 years. In 265 (65.1%) patients, successful recanalization was achieved: 134 patients with 5 passes, 67 patients with 6 passes, and 64 with ≥7 passes. Intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator administration was more common in the unsuccessful recanalization group (successful recanalization with 5, 6, and ≥7 EVT passes and unsuccessful recanalization: 35.3%, 30.3%, 18.8%, and 45.4%, respectively). Successful recanalization with 5, 6, and ≥7 EVT passes was associated with favorable outcome compared with unsuccessful recanalization group (adjusted odds ratio successful recanalization with 5, 6, and ≥7 EVT passes to unsuccessful recanalization [95% CIs]: 8.29 [2.13–32.3]; 14.0 [3.27–60.3]; and 5.26 [1.12–24.8], respectively). However, symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage was not significantly different between the groups. Objetivo: correlacionar os passes, finalizações, consumo de oxigênio máximo das jogadoras da equipe feminina de futsal de rendimento. Materiais e Métodos: A amostra foi de 10 jogadoras de futsal da categoria adulta, com idade em anos de média 26,50 ±4,70, e massa corporal em kg de 54,83 ±8,51. Foram avaliados a capacidade fisiológica durante período de treinamento e habilidades técnicas durante período competitivo em 3 jogos. O consumo de oxigênio máximo foi mensurado através do teste incremental progressivo submáximo. Já as habilidades passes e finalizações por análise de desempenho via vídeo. Resultados e discussão: O consumo de oxigênio médio foi de 51,41 ±3,53 (ml.kg.min). Within the institution of Transatlantic Slavery, across the Americas white enslaver control extended to the physical movement of those they held in bondage. This article adopts an extended conceptualization of creolization – the transformation of cultures, societies, and populations within the context of the contact between Europeans, enslaved Africans, and colonized and enslaved Indigenous peoples in the Americas – to explore the intersection of and conflicts between knowledge production and enslaved mobility. Through two case studies that analyse fugitive slave advertisements and the use of passes in the eighteenth-century British province of Quebec, I argue that these primary sources reveal evidence of a creolized counter-knowledge through which the enslaved resisted enslaver control through self-directed mobility in Canada. Purpose: to determine model indicators of performing technical and tactical actions by high-level teams. Material and methods: registration of technical and tactical actions was carried out on the example of games of participating teams in the 2020/2021 UEFA Champions League. A total of 242138 technical and tactical actions in 25 games of the teams «Manchester City» (Manchester, England), «Chelsea» (London, England), «Olympique» (Marseille, France), «Olympiacos» (Piraeus, Greece), «Porto» (Porto, Portugal), «Krasnodar» (Krasnodar, Russia), «Rennes» (Rennes, France), «Sevilla» (Sevilla, Spain), «Atletico» (Madrid, Spain), «Borussia» (Dortmund, Germany), «Borussia» (Monchengladbach, Germany), «Real» (Madrid, Spain), «Paris Saint-Germain» (Paris, France) were registered and analyzed. The following research methods were used to solve the tasks: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, registration of technical and tactical actions, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: the article presents data characterizing features of the defensive and attacking TTA by high level teams based on the results of the 2020/2021 UEFA Champions League games. Model indicators of making the ball passes (different in purpose, distance, direction, trajectory, method of performance), shots on target (with a foot and head from different areas of the football field), dribbling of an opponent, aerial duels, tackles, interceptions, knocking out the ball, blocking strikes into the goal have been developed. Conclusions: the data of the study show differences in the structure of competitive activity of different level teams in the games of the 2020/2021 UEFA Champions League. The winning team outnumbered their rivals in almost every indicator.

Abstract: Leave passes provide authorized leave for hospitalized patients from a psychiatric inpatient unit. Although providing day passes was once a relatively common practice, there are relatively few data describing their safety and efficacy. This descriptive study examines the use of leave passes in an adult inpatient unit at a university hospital between 2017 and 2021, with attention to reasons for granting the day pass, duration, and outcome of the pass. During the study period, 10 patients with primary psychotic or mood disorders received 12 passes for housing coordination, COVID-19 vaccination, or major family events. There were no fatalities or abscondments. One patient experienced severe agitation and engaged in nonsuicidal self-injurious behavior. A second patient showed mild, redirectable psychomotor agitation upon return to the unit. The remaining 10 passes were uneventful. Our findings support the view that patients with diverse diagnoses can safely be provided leave from an inpatient setting with adequate planning and support, yielding a low incidence of adverse events. The study detailed here has sought to assess the physical and technical activity engaged in by football players in the light of the direction of travel in which time zones were crossed as players transferred from training centres to match venues, in the context of matches played at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The material consisted of 945 observations of 340 players. Analysed: total distances covered [km], distances covered with high-intensity running (20–25 km/h) [m], numbers of sprints, numbers of shots, numbers of passes, pass accuracy [%] and the official ranking of national teams. Three categories of time-zone shift (training centre → match venue) were taken account of, i.e. (1) West→East (WE), (2) Same Zone (SZ) and (3) East→West (EW). Analysis of results revealed that players in the EW and SZ categories were able to achieve results significantly better than those moving WE (total distances covered H = 11.815(2); p = 0.003; numbers of passes H = 7.630(2); p = 0.022), and this in relation to team placings in the end-of-tournament ranking (H = 18.099(2); p = 0.001). The study presented below aimed to examine the position-specific evolution of technical activity among soccer players and how it is related to match outcomes over three consecutive domestic seasons in Germany’s Bundesliga. The research was based on a sample of 13,032 individual match observations of 556 soccer players during the 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 seasons. These players were classified into five positional roles: central defenders (CD), full-backs (FB), central midfielders (CM), wide midfielders (WM) and forwards (F). The activity of the players was analysed using the Impire AG motion analysis system. Our study indicates that over the course of the three seasons: 1) the total numbers of shots by CMs decreased in the case of won or drawn matches; 2) the number of passes by CD players increased in matches won, and by CM and WM players in matches won, drawn and lost, whereas percentage pass accuracy increased at the CM position in won and drawn matches; 3) players at each position engaged in a substantially smaller number of duels, no matter what the match outcome, while the percentage of encounters won in subsequent seasons decreased among CD, and increased among WM in matches won and at F positions in both won and drawn matches. This research clearly shows that the evolution of technique among professional soccer players is heading in the direction of increased accuracy, with a simultaneous stabilisation of, or even a decline in, the number of activities engaged in.

The present study attempts to assess changes in soccer players' physical and technical activity profiles due to thermal stress, measured with the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI), in training centres and during matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The study also verifies the theoretical models of soccer players' physiological parameters. The study sample consisted of 945 observations of 340 players of national teams taking part in the World Cup in Russia. The measured variables included physical activities: total distance covered, distances covered with an intensity of 20–25 km/h, number of sprints; technical activities: number of shots, number of passes, pass accuracy and physiological indicators: evaporative water loss and heart rate. In addition, the final ranking places of each national team were also used in the study. The UTCI was calculated based on meteorological data recorded at training centres and during matches. The UTCI records were then classified into two ranges: NTS—no thermal stress (UTCI 9–26 °C) and TS—thermal stress (UTCI > 26 °C). Climatic conditions at soccer training centres assessed as involving "no thermal stress" are found to be more beneficial for increasing the total distance covered and the number of sprints performed by players during a match. The theoretical models for determining soccer players' physiological parameters used in the study reduce the players' heart rate effort and evaporative water loss, which is in line with findings in studies by other authors. The climatic conditions at soccer training centres and during tournament matches should be taken into account in planning preparations for future World Cup tournaments, especially those in hotter countries. This study investigated the technical demands on football players, based on their various playing positions, during the qualifying matches for the European Football Championship. Data were obtained from the InStat database. The sample consisted of 314 players grouped into the following five playing positions: central defenders (n = 89), wide defenders (n = 58), central midfielders (n = 85), wide midfielders (n = 51), and forwards (n = 31). The results showed that forwards had a significantly (p < 0.01) greater number of shots than players in other positions. Central midfielders performed a significantly (p < 0.01) greater number of passes than players in other positions, with a large effect when compared to forwards (ES: 1.38). Furthermore, wide midfielders made the highest number of crosses compared to players in other positions, but they showed a trivial difference when compared to wide defenders (ES: 0.10). Forwards' tendency to lose the ball was significantly (p < 0.01) higher than that for other positions, with a very large effect when compared to central defenders (ES: 2.41). These results may assist football coaches in preparing players to meet the game's technical requirements, thus increasing the likelihood of qualifying for the European Football Championship. The purpose of this study was to analyze in FIFA World Cup Tournament 2018 focusing on the technical and tactical offensive actions of the male goalkeepers when being under pressure and to evaluate if their actions correlated with the outcome of the match. The sample consisted of the g oalkeepers (n = 41). A descriptive analysis and a hierarchical clusters analysis were performed to identify the goalkeepers' classes. Furthermore, a factor analysis was conducted to locate the goalkeepers' style of play and the statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. The results showed that the total percentage of correct passes under pressure was 46.5% and that the goalkeepers preferred using the air and long distance passes with one or two touches. In addition, out of the 4 groups that were formed with cluster analysis, the goalkeepers of group 2 and 3 stood out concerning the quality of their actions. The incorrect actions were correlated with defeat and the correct actions were correlated with a win (p < 0.001, r = 0.663). In conclusion, a male goalkeeper, nowadays, needs to have all the technical actions of his feet at a good level so he can contribute to his team's build-up, especially those of distributing the ball with his feet. Friction stir processing (FSP) was evolved as a potential technique for producing surface composites. Processed surface properties of soft and hard materials such as; hardness, abrasive, erosive and corrosive resistance, tensile strength, fatigue life, ductility, formability and corrosion resistance can be improved through FSP without changing the base material properties. Initially, FSP was limited to fabricating soft materials like aluminum and magnesium and its alloys. But now, it has been slowly introducing for hard materials and high temperature also such as; steel, titanium and nickel, cobalt and iron-based alloys. The leading concerns of this progressive research are to review and highlight the various process parameter effects on resultant microstructure, mechanical properties and related defects. The fundamental strengthening mechanisms during FSP of several surface composites are also discussed with various existing models and simulations. This review article has exhibited few research gaps on surface composites obtained through FSP and provide useful guidelines to academicians and researchers in effective surface composite fabrication. The study presented below aimed to examine the position-specific evolution of technical activity among soccer players and how it is related to match outcomes over three consecutive domestic seasons in Germany's Bundesliga. Resumen El proceso de preparación técnico-táctica ofensiva en el fútbol constituye un pilar fundamental para lograr un buen desarrollo del juego y también alcanzar resultados favorables cuando se compite. Se pudo comprobar mediante un diagnóstico que los futbolistas de la categoría 12-13 años del Combinado Deportivo Previsora, municipio Camagüey, presentan insuficiencias en la ejecución de los pases con el empeine exterior del pie mientras compiten o entrenan, lo que afecta sus resultados; por tanto, esta investigación tiene como objetivo diseñar juegos y ejercicios que favorezcan la ejecución técnico-táctica de los pases con el empeine exterior del pie. Para ello se emplearon diversos métodos y técnicas como la entrevista, la revisión documental, la observación a sesiones de entrenamientos y la observación a competencias. Estos arrojaron como resultados que la ofensiva era poco variable, poco sorpresiva, con una constante pérdida de balones en su desarrollo. La elaboración del conjunto de juegos y ejercicios favorece la correcta ejecución técnico-táctica de los pases con el empeine exterior del pie y eleva el nivel de preparación deportiva. Abstract The process of technical-tactical preparation offensive in football is a fundamental pillar to achieve a good development of the game and also achieve a favorable outcome when competing. It was possible to verify by means of a diagnosis that the soccer players of the category 12-13 years of Combined Sport Previsora, municipality Camagüey, present insufficiencies in the execution of the passes with the outside instep of the foot while competing or training, which affects the results of its Football activity. Therefore, the present research aimed to design a set of games and exercises that favor the technical-tactical execution of the passes with the outer instep of the foot. For this, various methods and techniques were used, such as interviewing, document review, observing training sessions, observing skills and measuring. These showed as fundamental results that the offensive was little variable, little surprise and very predictable with a constant loss of balls in its development. The elaboration of the set of games and exercises presented favors the correct technical-tactical execution of the passes with the outer instep of these players and raises their level of sports preparation.

Purpose: to determine the efficiency of game indicators of a male national picked team of Ukraine on the World Championship on basketball in 2014. Material and Methods: theoretical analysis of scientifically methodical literature, pedagogical observations, methods of mathematical statistics. Results: indicators of the efficiency of a game activity of basketball players in games of the World Championship of 2014 were studied. Game indicators of the Ukrainian team are analysed, the efficiency of individual actions of the leading basketball players of the world is considered. Conclusions: it is established that basketball players of Ukraine had a result below an average on all components of indicators of technical and tactical actions in attack and defense in games of the World Championship in 2014, except the efficiency of free throws where the accuracy of their performance was the highest in the group. It is revealed that the defender Eugene Jeter was the leader of the Ukrainian team in this championship.

The study aimed to examine the performance frequency of selected technical activities by soccer teams playing in the UEFA EURO 2016 in relation to match outcome and match status. Thirty-six matches of the group stage were analysed. The data were retrieved using an OPTA Sportsdata Company system. The notated technical activities: shots, passes, were expressed as frequency of performance (playing time/number of activities); while ball possession was expressed in percentage terms. There was a large effect size in frequency of shots on target (η2 = 0.201), of shots from inside the penalty area (η2 = 0.163) in relation to match outcome. A medium effect size was then found in frequency of passes (η2 = 0.102), short passes (η2 = 0.060) and ball possession (η2 = 0.113) in relation to match status. A team’s playing effectiveness requires a concurrent scrutiny of players’ technical activities in relation to match outcome and match status. Key technical activities affecting a successful match outcome are frequencies of different types of shots. Starting from the fact that the subjective evaluations of a coach or by a group of experts can not give a definite conclusion on the real engagement of players in the football field during a given match it is necessary that the evaluations on the contribution of players during a football game play to be relied on the contemporary information technology. The aim of the paper work is to analyze the impact of some technicaltactical parameters on the success of the game in football in some of the best teams of the three European championships during 2008/09: The Italian Championship, the German Championship, and the English Championship. In the research were analyzed 7 championship games of 3 European countries, teams from Italian, English, and German championship. The following matches have been analyzed: Italian championship: Inter Milan 1 - Sampdoria 0; Inter Milan 2- AC Milan 1; English championships: Manchester U 1 - Liverpool 4; Hull C 0 - Manchester U. 1, German championship: Hamburg 1 - Bayern Munich 0; Bayern Munich 3 - Borussia Dort. 1; Bayern Munich 4 - Wolfsburg 1. The parameters of the technique of the game are considered as variables in this paper, and they are made by computer measurements of 13 technical parameters, for the 7 matches of the three strongest championships in Europe, the championship of 2008/09. The obtained results show that short negative passes have a significant impact on determining the winner in the football game. Surface composites were fabricated on AA6063-T6 base metal using silicon carbide (SiC) reinforcement particles by friction stir processing (FSP). Influence of multiple FSP passes was investigated on the SiC particle distribution, processed zone dimensions, and microhardness of fabricated composites. The rotational speed, traverse speed, and tool tilt were kept constant and the numbers of passes were varied at 2, 4, 6, and 8. The particle distribution in processed zone was analyzed using OM and SEM, while microhardness were evaluated by Vickers indentation test. The results reveal that with increase in FSP passes there is increase in processed zone dimensions and elimination of defects such as agglomeration of particles and void. The microhardness of reinforced region was increased uniformly with increasing passes which is attributed to homogeneous distribution of reinforcement particles. The peak microhardness value of 81.9 Hv was obtained in sample which is processed with eight numbers of FSP passes. Processed zone indicates good bonding with the substrate and grain refinement. Peri-procedural blood loss and hemodilution occur in patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for ischemic stroke; however, its relationships with thrombectomy passes, procedure times, and clinical outcomes are unknown.Consecutive patients undergoing MT for anterior circulation large-vessel occlusion ischemic strokes were identified at a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Clinical information, modified treatment in cerebral ischemia (mTICI) scores, and modified Rankin Scores (mRS) at 90 days were prospectively collected from 2012 to 2021. Hemoglobin measurements before and after MTs were collected retrospectively via chart review, and changes were quantified. Patients with new-onset severe anemia (defined as post-MT hemoglobin less than 10g/dL) were identified. Modified Rankin scale (mRS) at 90 days was used to measure clinical outcomes.Four-hundred and forty-five patients were identified. Hemoglobin decreased 1.27 ± 1.05 g/dL after MT on average. Greater number of thrombectomy passes and longer procedure times were associated with larger decreases in hemoglobin (p < 0.001 and p = 0.002, respectively). 11.5% (51 of 445) of patients had new-onset severe anemia, and this incidence was significantly higher with more thrombectomy passes (6.4% for one pass, 11.9% for two passes, and 17.4% for three or more passes; p = 0.010). In multivariable analyses, new-onset severe anemia was associated with significantly higher odds of 90-day poor outcomes (mRS 3-6, OR 2.70 [95%CI 1.12–6.51], p = 0.027) and death (OR 2.73 [95%CI 1.06–7.04], p = 0.037) compared to mild post-MT anemia.More thrombectomy passes and longer procedure times were significantly associated with larger peri-procedural decreases in hemoglobin. The aim of this study was to examine the variety and the success rate of the skills of the technical processes used by the players between the ages of 17-21 years and respectively 22-35 years in the official games in order to have a landmark in approaching some training strategies and for achieving the players lots at the level of the Third League in 2013. In the achievement of this statistical study proposed through observation method, there were analyzed 48 matches. For each game we analyzed the 40 minutes of actual game (which means, without taking into account the time in which the ball was out of the game, that is 20 minutes in each halftime). They have provided 32 hours of game phases, for each of the two groups of players. Success rates for technical processes of passing the ball were similar for those between 17-21 years (67,6%) and those between 22-35 years (68,6%), players between 17-21 years have caaried out more passes than the players aged (22-35 years). Passing over short distances had a higher success rate rather than those medium and long for both age groups. While the players aged between 22-35 years had success rates less than 50%, both for long and medium passing, the younger players from the other group had success rates over 60% at these passing categories. Pass with the inside of the foot (flat) was the predominant technique, used on short and medium distances. The total number of tested centerings and the proportion of the successfull centerings were roughly similar inside the two age groups. Those from the 17-21 years group had a higher number of finalisation attempts, more of these being on the gateway, in comparison to those of the players with the age between 22-35 years. The number of dispossessions, interceptions and wrong control have been similar between the two age groups, even if the players from the 22-35 years category had more au avut mai multe blows/missed kicks.

Introduction. Having possession of the ball makes it possible for the players of a team to undertake a greater number of actions that can help the team win the match. The aim of the current study was to determine the number and completion rate of passes made from different distances in relation to percentage ball possession and the outcome of the match in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup held in Brazil in 2014. Material and methods. The study included 32 teams who participated in the final tournament. The performance of 266 players (682 observations) who played 48 matches in the group stage was examined. Only players who took part in the entire match were included in the research, and goal-keepers were excluded. The data used in the study, which had been recorded by means of the Castrol Performance Index system, were obtained from the FIFA official website. The total number of passes and the percentage of completed passes were analysed, which were classified as short, medium, and long, in relation to the team's percentage possession of the ball (over and below 50%) and the outcome of the match (win, loss, or draw). Results. Out of the three types of passes which were examined in the study, teams playing in the World Cup in Brazil most often made medium passes. The number of these passes was the highest in matches won. These matches were also characterised by a significantly higher percentage of completed long passes. Conclusions. Players from teams who were in possession of the ball more than 50% of the time performed a higher number of all types of passes, regardless of the outcome of the match. In this work was analyzed the sample of 27 soccer players from two national teams: the national team of Spain and the national team of Germany, the first and second ranged team in the European championship ,,EURO 2008 “ With the information gathered with the ,,Castrol Performance Index“ ,it was possible to express a different situational parameters in all stages of game . There were drown out the information’s about the kinds and number of passes of the team and the players, the percentage of the efficiency of the team, and for each player of each team .The main issue of the work was to investigate and to describe competitive efficiency of the players and teams, respectively, competitive efficiency of the players, and the finalist teams in the last European championship, with the special focus to passes. According to the results the team of Spain in final match has as paid attention to the all kinds of ball passes. The city of the Convenae, which succeeded the populations displaced by Pompey at the opening of Garonne valley onto the plain served as an anchorage in the Augustean reshaping of the lands in southern Aquitania. The military ventures of the Ist c. B.C. and the building of the cities and provinces, at the turn of our era, endowed it with a network of big arterial roads. The two northsouth roads which reached Lugdunum from Tolosa and Aginnum went on through the Val d’Aran towards Ilerda, following the valley of the Noguera Pallaresa. Although there is no mention of that layout in the antique Itineraries, epigraphic and archeological data make its existence obvious. The present study evaluated the effect of a smaller, lighter ball on kicking speed and technical- tactical and physical match performance in high-level adult female footballers. In the laboratory test setting, the peak ball velocity was 6 % higher with the new ball (NB) than the standard ball (SB) (26.5 ± 0.5 vs. 25.1 ± 0.5 m ⋅ s-1, p < 0.05). However, during match-play, no differences were observed in mean heart rate (87 ± 5 vs. 87 ± 5 %HRmax; p > 0.05), blood lactate (90 min: 4.7 ± 1.7 and 4.0 ± 1.7 mmol ⋅ l-1; p > 0.05), total distance covered (10.6 ± 0.9 and 10.4 ± 0.8 km; p > 0.05), intense running ( > 16 km/h) (2.08 ± 0.42 and 1.94 ± 0.38 km; p > 0.05) and match-induced decrement in Yo-Yo IR1 performance (28 vs. 31 %, respectively, p < 0.05) using NB compared to SB. Likewise, no difference was observed in the number of short, medium-range or long passes during matches played with the 2 ball types, and there was no difference in passing success rate (NB: 68 ± 1 % and SB: 68 ± 1 %, p > 0.05). In conclusion, high-level adult female footballers had a higher kicking speed when using a smaller, lighter ball, but no differences were observed during matchplay with the 2 ball types in respect of technicaltactical and physical match performance. Whether the use of more active teaching–learning methods has a positive impact on academic performance remains unanswered. This article seeks to contribute to the issue by conducting a study of an Operations Management course with almost 1000 students per year over three consecutive academic years. The study compares three scenarios with differing degrees of student involvement and Information Technology usage. The findings show no differences in terms of exam grades, but there is an increase in the percentage of passes in the most active scenario analysed, in which continuous assessment tests are used. Notwithstanding, student involvement in the optional assessable activities was found to be a significant factor for predicting the likelihood of passing the subject, especially when continuous assessment tests are used, since their grades show a higher correlation with exam grades. A study is made of the effect of the degree of ovality of the passes in the finishing stands of an FQM mill on the accuracy and deformation characteristics of the rolled product with the use of a system of 384-mm passes. The transverse distribution of wall-thickness at the outlet of the deformation zone in the fourth and fifth stands is determined for different degrees of ovality of the finishing-stand passes. Relations are obtained to calculate the degree to which the mandrel is enveloped by the metal, the increase in the thickness of the semifinished product, and its spreading for different pass ovalities in the finishing stands of the FQM mill. It is established that it is best to regulate pass ovality in the leader stand in order to significantly improve the accuracy of the rolled pipe's geometric dimensions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study it was verify the differences of prominence levels between tactical positions in futsal (indoor football). For that reason, it was performed an analysis of variance between competitive levels and tactical positions for the centrality metrics computed by using network analysis. Forty-six futsal players from different competitive levels (U12, U14, U16 and Amateurs) it were analysed during three official futsal matches. Results revealed no differences in centrality metrics between competitive levels (p = 1.00; η²p= 0.001; very small effect size) had no significant statistical differences in the centrality metrics. Nevertheless, tactical position (p = 0.001; η²p= 0.593; moderate effect size) had significant main effects on the centrality metrics. Centrality metrics revealed that defenders are the most prominent players in to receive the ball. The aim of this research is to compare the game play variables in artificial turf vs. natural turf at high performance level and to assess in which manner it affects to the sport performance and the management of the facility. We analyzed 283 women players who participated in the FIFA® World Championship of 2011 (natural grass) and 483 women players of 2015 (artificial turf). Variables measured were passes, touches, dribbles, and tackles. We used U of Mann-Whitney test to evaluate the differences between two tournaments. Results showed that the success percentage of all game play actions is higher in artificial turf (World Championship 2015) in most of variables analyzed (except dribbles), in total and depending on player position. The aim of this study was to verify the prominence levels of rink-hockey players in different competitive levels. For that reason, it was analysed the variance of network centrality metrics between competitive levels and tactical positions. Fifty-four rink-hockey players from five different levels (U12, U14, U16, U18 and Elite) were analysed during three official matches. The results did not found statistical differences in centrality levels of players between competitive levels (p-value=1.00; partial eta square = 0.001; very small effect size). Nevertheless, tactical position (p-value = 0.001; partial eta square = 0.534; moderate effect size) had significant main effects on the centrality metrics. In this study it was found that defender and forward are the positions that most receive balls from the teammates. In other hand, the forward is the position that most passes performed until the U16 and in older levels the defender assumes the centrality in passes performed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study of the improvement of eye-hand coordination skills and eye-breech for young disabled athletes Special Olympics, was carried out on a sample of 24 athletes (16-18 years), including 12 young people with intellectual disabilities supported by a group of able-bodied partners. The work was developed by the Course of Sport and Disability, Department of Exercise Science and Wellness, University of Naples Parthenope in collaboration with the College of St. Catherine of Siena, in Salerno, in the second phase of the project unique school and peer Special Olympics unified italian football. Method: Athletes who took part in the first phase of the study for the verification of conditional capacity, had performed the following tests at coordination skills: the launch of the soccer ball with both hands, passing the ball with your dominant foot, shot on goal. The data collection was carried out over a period of five months with initial, intermediate and final projection into indoor stadium with a ball number 4. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relative performance of the eye-hand motor coordination and eye-foot noting the percentage of error in shooting and passing by conducting tests in an indoor soccer field to five for athletes and partners divided into group A and group B. Result and Conclusion: The final data, recorded at the end of the second phase of the project, have shown positive results particularly for athletes of group B who participated in 10 meetings over the extra two hours of physical education during school hours. The intermediate survey of group B showed an increase in percentage quantifiable around about 6,5% while the end result showed an overall improvement rate of almost 8%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND Spray boom systems, an alternative to the predominantly-used spray guns, have the potential to considerably improve crop protection management in glasshouses. Based on earlier experiments, the further optimization of the deposits of a medium spray quality extended range flat fan nozzle type using easy adjustable spray boom settings was examined. Using mineral chelate tracers and water sensitive papers, the spray results were monitored at three plant levels, on the upper side and the underside of the leaves, and on some off-target collectors. In addition, the deposition datasets of all tree experiments were compared. RESULTS The data showed that the most efficient spray distribution with the medium spray quality flat fan nozzles was found with a 30° forward angled spray combined with air support and an application rate of 1000 L ha-1. This technique resulted in a more uniform deposition in the dense canopy and increased spray deposition on the lower side of the leaves compared with the a standard spray boom application. Applying 1000 L ha-1 in two subsequent runs instead of one did not seem to show any added value. The purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of wheelchair basketball as motor difference performance of 20 disabled athletes practising wheelchair basketball. They resulted with variable classifications-point between 1 and 4.5 and had different positions. Pre-requisites were the different disabilities of the athletes, due to mobility impairment by traumatic injuries, polio, mutilations, and others, resulted compatible with the basketball practice. Aims were improving the percentage of shooting and passing by strengthening the upper limbs through specific exercises and the use of competition balls, medicine balls, and elastics fitband. The data were collected during two academic years at the Faculty of Sport Sciences (now the Department of Sport Sciences and Wellness) of the University of Naples Parthenope to evaluate the conditional and coordinative abilities used in passing and shooting in wheelchair basketball. The research carried out using an observation method and handwriting reporting-was made on a sample of 20 disabled athletes who already had experienced national wheelchair basket leagues and who belonged to the "CISS Basket Napoli" team, including athletes of the junior team. The study included initial, intermediate and final tests. The final output, recorded at the end of the second agonistic season, showed the improvement percentage of about 6, 5% validating a methodology based on supplementary training. The athletes of group B showed an incremented percentage and even some athletes of group A, determined to train with greater concentration, showed improvements in their performances reaching higher points of percentage. Between 1916 and 1981, 17.25 million black South Africans were arrested for pass-law infringements. Though passbooks were pivotal texts in the lives of many South Africans, scholarship has focused mostly on their role in administering labour influxes. Thus the implications of having books facilitate state power have been largely unexplored. This article considers passbooks as books to examine how they narrated lives and conditioned various political and racial modes of subjectivity. It argues that despite passbooks’ unparalleled control over South Africans’ everyday lives, passbooks failed to mould all life stories into the rigid forms promulgated by apartheid doxa. Counter-narratives in black and ‘coloured’ writing of the period provide a useful framework for re-evaluating the role of reading and writing in the production of power. As interventions in the apartheid state’s monopoly of public discourse, such writing insisted that there be alternative ways of writing the apartheid subject into the archive.
