Introduction. Medication therapy adherence is a challenge in the clinical practice of health providers. Objective. To identify predictors of nonadherence to medication therapy and quality of life (QoL) in medication users. Method. A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted at five primary health care (PHC) units in Brazil. Standardized tools included the Self-Reporting Questionnaire, Measurement of Treatment Adherence, and World Health Organization Quality-of-Life-Bref, in addition to a sociodemographic and treatment-related questionnaire. Results. Participants with common mental disorders (CMDs) who used psychotropic medication were more likely to be nonadherent to medication treatment. Sociodemographic variables, presence of a CMD, and psychotropic medication use were key predictors of lower QoL in patients treated at PHC. Discussion and conclusion. The findings of this study could inform interventions designed to improve medication therapy adherence and train public health care professionals to enhance health care. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract. First aid has been part of the Spanish educational system for over 30 years, gaining prominence in the last two educational laws. This study examines its presence in the current educational legislation. An analysis has been conducted on the inclusion of first aid and basic life support (BLS) content in the autonomous curricula of compulsory secondary education (ESO) in Spain. All autonomous communities incorporate first aid in a manner similar to that stipulated in the Royal Decree that establishes the minimum contents. In the first cycle of ESO, the contents focus on learning the BLS protocol, the emergency number, and the PAS protocol (Protect, Alert, and Assist). In the second cycle, these become more complex, including CPR maneuvers, the Heimlich maneuver, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). There are studies that recommend initiating the learning of first aid with simple content in primary education and gradually increasing the complexity throughout the entire educational stage. Therefore, while the contents proposed in secondary education are not inappropriate, some of them might be more suitable for the previous stage, namely, Primary Education. Keywords: Basic life support, physical education, accidents, emergencies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, curriculum.

Report on the experience of practicing first aid through health education with high school students. This is an experience report on an intervention project that took place in a state school in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, from september to october 2023, with students enrolled in high school as participants. The project was carried out in two stages: the first was a theoretical activity and the second a practical activity. During its realization, the students' interest in the subject was noticed, and they showed themselves to be participative and collaborative. It was found that the students had difficulty with the subject of trauma, both in terms of theory and practice. In this way, this study has made it possible to contribute to the students' learning on the subject in question, as well as contributing to a society with greater knowledge of first aid. Objective: to analyze how the practices of nurses in primary health care affect professional identity. Method: qualitative research, from a dissertation. The research was carried out in the second half of 2020 through a semistructured interview with nurses who worked in Primary Health Care in a small municipality in the interior of Bahia. Data organization used the software N vivo 10 for Windows, and for theoretical analysis, the notion of habitus presented by Pierre Bourdieu. Results: three subcategories of analysis were identified: Prevention Practices, Clinical Practices - Individual and Assistance Standardization. Final considerations: there were conflicts and fragility in the professional identity of the nurse, with normative practices and processes that mark the professional choice by real possibilities and not by the interest of being, thus forming the habitus of the nurse of Primary Health Care.

First Aid is defined as actions that are performed on an individual in the face of a situation that may cause suffering or risk to life. The school environment is considered a favorable place for accidents to occur, since the interaction activities developed there and the high number of children and adolescents present in the same space and for a long period of stay, are factors that drive this reality. In view of this, this study aims to know the strategies of care and assistance of teachers regarding first aid in the school environment. This is a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory research, carried out with 17 teachers who worked in the municipal education system of a municipality in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The focus group was used for data collection, and the analysis the data was guided through thematic analysis that made it possible to group the data into the following categories: First aid in the school context; Practice of first aid in the school environment: facilities and difficulties and Knowledge and Learning about First Aid. It was observed that the injuries witnessed by the educators indicate that urgent and emergency situations are part of the reality of the school routine, many needing first aid actions. It is concluded that the strategies of care and assistance for the prevention of accidents in the school environment must be incorporated through health promotion actions, since the school is considered the ideal space for the implementation of knowledge that involves the practice of first aid. Barreiras. Ciência da Implementação. Promoção da Saúde.

Over the last years, the susceptibility activity of the most common microorganisms causing community-acquired infections has significantly changed in Spain. Based on the susceptibility rates of Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae collected from outpatients aged 15 or older with symptoms of respiratory or urinary tract infections in several Microbiology Departments in Catalonia in 2021, penicillin V should be first choice for most respiratory tract infections, amoxicillin and clavulanate for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations and a single dose of fosfomycin or a short-course nitrofurantoin should remain first-line treatments for uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Updated information on antimicrobial resistance for general practitioners is crucial for achieving appropriate empirical management of the most common infections by promoting more rational antibiotic use.
