Introduction: Residents of rural regions may have higher and unique suicide risks. Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) is a Canadian province replete with rural regions. Despite an abundance of rural suicide research, heterogeneity in rural regions may preclude amalgamating findings to inform prevention efforts. Thus, exploring the unique needs of NL is needed. Importantly, health care providers (HCP) may afford unique perspectives on the suicide-related needs or concerns of rural life. We asked HCPs of residents of rural NL their perceived suicide risk factors, concerns, and needs for rural NL. Method: Twelve HCPs of rural residents of NL completed virtual semi-structured interviews. Interviews were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis [13,14]. Results: HCPs noted individual, psychological, social, and practical factors linked to rural-suicide risk and subsequent needs. Abstract: Adolescents and emerging adults who engage in nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) often participate in online activity regarding their self-injury. Of particular importance are the potential benefits and risks associated with online NSSI activity, including how individuals describe their NSSI experiences. One way that individuals describe these experiences is by discussing NSSI as an addiction. Accordingly, we used thematic analysis to explore why individuals may use addiction references to describe their NSSI experiences. To do this, we examined 71 posts from a popular NSSI social network. Four themes emerged: difficulty inherent in stopping, authentication, warn others, and communicate the plight of the behavior. Findings highlight a number of avenues for research as well as implications for clinicians working with clients who self-injure perceive NSSI as an addiction. Identification of anomalous light curves within time-domain surveys is often challenging. In addition, with the growing number of wide-field surveys and the volume of data produced exceeding astronomers' ability for manual evaluation, outlier and anomaly detection is becoming vital for transient science. We present an unsupervised method for transient discovery using a clustering technique and the astronomaly package. As proof of concept, we evaluate 85 553 min-cadenced light curves collected over two ∼1.5 h periods as part of the Deeper, Wider, Faster program , using two different telescope dithering strategies. By combining the clustering technique HDBSCAN with the isolation forest anomaly detection algorithm via the visual interface of astronomaly , we are able to rapidly isolate anomalous sources for further analysis. We successfully recover the known variable sources, across a range of catalogues from within the fields, and find a further seven uncatalogued variables and two stellar flare events, including a rarely observed ultrafast flare (∼5 min) from a likely M-dwarf. This study explored meaning-making in the narratives of survivors of partner suicide. The 117 posts of 50 users of a public online grief support forum were analyzed using the Meaning of Loss Codebook (MLC; Gillies, Neimeyer, & Milman, 2014). There was evidence of substantial psychological distress and an ongoing struggle to make meaning of the death, in addition to focusing on memories, longing for the deceased, and efforts to actively cope with the loss. Given the importance of meaning-making in the adjustment to loss, and through the application of the MLC, these findings deepen the understanding of this component of grief. This study examined rates of heavy drinking and alcohol problems in relation to drinking motives and protective behavioral strategies in university students with a documented current diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD; n = 31) compared with students with no history of ADHD (n = 146). Participants completed a Web-based questionnaire, and logistic regression models tested interactions between ADHD/comparison group membership and motives and protective strategies. Group differences in rates of heavy drinking and alcohol problems were not statistically significant, but medium-sized risk ratios showed that students without ADHD reported heavy drinking at a rate 1.44 times higher than students with ADHD and met screening criteria for problematic alcohol use at a rate of 1.54 times higher than students with ADHD. Other key findings were, first, that drinking to enhance positive affect (e.g., drinking because it is exciting), but not to cope with negative affect (e.g., drinking to forget your worries), predicted both heavy drinking and alcohol problems. Second, only protective behavioral strategies that emphasize alcohol avoidance predicted both heavy drinking and alcohol problems. Contrary to expectations, we found no ADHD-related moderation of effects of motives or protective strategies on our alcohol outcomes. Results of this study are limited by the small sample of students with ADHD but highlight tentative similarities and differences in effects of motives and strategies on drinking behaviors and alcohol problems reported by students with and without ADHD. The odontogenic keratocyst, OKC, is a very aggressive intraosseos lesion with a recurrence rate of approximately 25 percent to 60 percent.1 The tendency for this lesion to "return" after surgical treatment has prompted studies to obtain more information concerning the inherent nature of the lesion. The OKC lesions are usually treated with enucleation of the soft tissue lining, curettage and ostectomy of the bony margins, or with more aggressive block resection. The purpose of this study was to characterize the multifocal aspect of the OKC and to demonstrate the presence of cystic lesions remote from the margins of the primarily diagnosed cyst itself. A retrospective chart review was conducted of seven patients who had sustained a long history of recurrent OKCs. Three types of documentation were reviewed for each patient: Orthopantomograms, cephalograms, and CT scans, which had been taken over the long-term course of the disease, Detailed operation reports of surgical procedures to treat the OKC lesions, and Large histologic specimens from the six patients who received total resection of the involved mandibular bodies. These hemimandibulectomy slides offered a unique opportunity to observe OKC activity throughout a wide osseous area. The Multifocal Nature of Odontogenic Keratocysts All patients had been operated multiple times over a period of 10 to 21 years, coming eventually to mandibular resection. The operating surgeon in all of the cases was one of the authors, Philip J. Boyne, DMD, MS, DSc. All patients exhibited the multifocal nature of OKCs with demonstrable cyst formation at distant sites in the mandible. Two patients had local recurrences at the margins of the primary lesion in addition to cyst formation at distant sites. The authors concluded that clinicians should respect the multifocal nature of OKCs. The "recurrences" observed in OKCs may not necessarily be due to the degree of skill of the surgeon or the technique used to eradicate the primary cyst, but instead are probably a reflection of the multifocal nature of the pathologic lesion itself.
