In 1964, A. I. Perov generalized the Banach contraction principle introducing, following the work of ¯D. Kurepa, a new approach to fixed point problems, by defining generalized metric spaces (also known as vector valued metric spaces), and providing some actual results for the first time. Using the recent approach of coordinate representation for a generalized metric of Jachymski and Klima, we verify in this article some natural properties of generalized metric spaces, already owned by standard metric spaces. Among other results, we show that the theorems of Nemytckii (1936) and Edelstein (1962) are valid in generalized metric spaces, as well. The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of interpolative fuzzy Z-contractive condition for a pair of self maps in a fuzzy metric space, which enlarges, unifies and generalizes the existing fuzzy contractions (by Gregori et al. [6]), contraction (by Mihet [11]), fuzzy Z-contractions (by Shukla et al. ([19]) and Tirado contraction (by Tirado [20]), which are for only one self map. Using this, we establish a unique common fixed point theorem for two self maps satisfying condition (S), which was introduced by Shukla et al. in [19] through weak compatibility. In this article, we introduce generalized cyclic contractions in the context of metric-like spaces and prove some new fixed point results concerning these contractions. In this paper, we introduce the concept of F--G--contraction mappings in F-metric spaces endowed with a graph and give some fixed point results for such contractions. The purpose of this paper is to establish the uniqueness and existence of the common fixed point under generalized contractive conditions in b -metric spaces with supportive examples. We also approximate the common fixed point by Jungck–Picard and Picard iteration procedures along with the P property of the mappings. A lot of authors have proved various common fixed-point results for pairs of self-mappings under strict contractive conditions in metric spaces. In the case of cone metric spaces, fixed point results are usually proved under assumption that the cone is normal. In the present paper we prove common fixed point results under strict contractive conditions in cone metric spaces using only the assumption that the cone interior is nonempty. We modify the definition of property (E.A), introduced recently in the work by Aamri and Moutawakil (2002), and use it instead of usual assumptions about commutativity or compatibility of the given pair. Examples show that the obtained results are proper extensions of the existing ones.

We prove several fixed point theorems on cone metric spaces in which the cone does not need to be normal. These theorems generalize the recent results of Huang and Zhang (2007), Abbas and Jungck (2008), and Vetro (2007). Furthermore as corollaries, we obtain recent results of Rezapour and Hamlborani (2008).

New fixed point results for a pair of non-self mappings defined on a closed subset of a metrically convex cone metric space (which is not necessarily normal) are obtained. By adapting Assad-Kirk's method the existence of a unique common fixed point for a pair of non-self mappings is proved, using only the assumption that the cone interior is nonempty. Examples show that the obtained results are proper extensions of the existing ones.

In this paper, we present a new type of contraction calledW-contraction in fuzzy metric space. Utilizing this contraction, we establish a unique fixed point theorem for self-map in the structure of fuzzy metric space which turns out to be generalization of fuzzy contraction given by Gregori et al. [8]. As an application of our result, we study the existence and uniqueness of the solution to nonlinear ordinary differential equations. In this paper is introduced a new type of generalization of metric spaces called Sb metric space. In this paper direct proofs of some common fixed point results for two and three mappings under weak contractive conditions are given. Some of these results are improved by using different arguments of control functions. Recently, Chao Wang, Jinghao Zhu, Bogko Damjanovid, Liang-gen Hu [Approximating fixed points of a pair of contractive type mappings in generalized convex metric spaces, Applied Mathematics and Computation 215 (2009) 1522-1525] proved some results for an Ishikawa type iteration process with errors, which converges to the unique common fixed point of a pair of contractive type mappings in complete generalized convex metric spaces. The aim of this paper is to consider this in the frame of abstract (cone) metric spaces. We extend some fixed point results of these mappings from complete generalized convex metric spaces to convex abstract metric spaces with the solid cone. Also, we have improved some results. In this paper we see the personality of man through his comprehension as a moral entity. An entity that emerges, thinks morally and/or behaves morally, inseparable from the society in which he lives as a moral being, and by its moral thinking and/or behaviour further defines the morals of the whole society. Accordingly, we present (post)modern society as a society of tolerance of value ambiguity. In that kind of society we perceive medical situation as moral situation and define the role of medical ethics in the field of biomedicine. In that kind of society politics is perceived as one of the social spheres where different varieties of systems of values of individuals or groups are publicly embraced, touched, or terribly unhappily pursued... all in the name of understanding man and his world. In order to prevent the victory of Thanatos, who prevails in the contemporary concept of politics and in postmodern global society, we suggest implementing applied bioethics as a form of metapolitics as an answer. We explain the idea of bioethics and suggest bioethical education as the operationalisation of metapolitics through bioethics as orientation knowledge, in both medicine and politics.

In this paper we consider, discuss, improve and generalize recent b-(E.A)-property results for mappings in b-metric spaces established by Ozturk and Turkoglu (J Nonlinear Convex Anal 16(10):2059-2066, 2015). Thus, all our results are with much shorter proofs. One example is given to support the result.

Objectives: To identify factors associated with sexual initiation before the age of 17 among Serbian adolescents and to assess whether the latter is associated with other risky behaviours, such as tobacco, alcohol and illicit drug use, and fighting., Methods: The study was an analysis of data gathered by the 2006 Serbian National Population Health Survey in which information concerning adolescents was obtained by means of questionnaires. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and a logistic regression model., Results: A total of 474 adolescents aged 15 and 16 completed the survey. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that male respondents reporting sexual initiation were significantly more likely to smoke daily and to have experienced two or more episodes of drunkenness in the past. Female respondents reporting sexual initiation were significantly more likely to live with both parents, to feel insecure in school, to smoke daily and to drink more than once a week., Conclusions: A strong association was found between adolescent sexual initiation and substance abuse. Although a causal relationship is evidently not established, one might contemplate including measures lowering the frequency and intensity of substance abuse in health prevention programmes and interventions aiming at reducing the risks associated with sexual initiation.
