Literature reviews are an essential feature of academic research because, fundamentally, the advancement of knowledge must be built on prior existing work, and to push the frontiers of knowledge, one must be clear as to where these frontiers presently are. By systematically analyzing, synthesizing, and summarizing bodies of related literature, hypotheses can be tested and/or new theories and insights developed. However, despite the recent increase in systematic review research in business and management, and particularly marketing literature, arguably, many reviews continue to be poorly undertaken and reported due to a lack of a rigorous modus operandi for their journal editors, reviewers, and readers. The purpose of this paper is twofold, first to offer marketing researchers and practitioners a modus operandi to better demonstrate the optimization of rigor when undertaking quantitative systematic review research, and second to represent a call-to-action for marketing scholarship to engage further with optimizing rigorous systematic review research in the future. Purpose: To analyze the risk of dental implant failure for patients with a history of antidepressant use through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: An electronic search was performed up to June 2023 in three databases including PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials; data on the comparison of implant failure rate for patients with and without the use of antidepressants were included. Meta-analyses for the risk ratio of implant failure rate at patient level and implant level were performed. Results: Overall, 11 clinical studies were selected for inclusion in this review. The meta-analyses showed a risk ratio of 2.44 (95% CI = 1.75 to 3.39; P < .0001) and 2.44 (95% CI = 1.73 to 3.46; P < .0001) for the implant failure at patient level and implant level, respectively. The comparisons presented a low heterogeneity for the patient-level analysis and a moderate heterogeneity for the implant-level analysis among the pooled studies. Subgroup analyses also revealed that patients who received only selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or SSRIs with other types of antidepressants had a higher risk of implant failure than those who were not on any antidepressants. Conclusions: The current review demonstrates that the use of antidepressants such as SSRIs may increase the risk of dental implant failure at both patient level and implant level. Although limited evidence suggests that a certain type of SSRI (sertraline) may have more influence on implant failure than other SSRIs, future studies are needed to confirm this finding. Purpose: To assess histologic and imaging outcomes related to new bone formation around implants, inserted simultaneously with sinus augmentation, and compare different types of grafts. Materials and Methods: This systematic review (SR) was carried out following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. LILACS/BVS, MEDLINE/PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase databases, including gray literature and manual investigations, were searched to identify clinical trials reporting specific requirements. The present study needed human histologic and imaging data of bone formation around implants inserted into the maxillary sinus simultaneously with elevation and augmentation procedures. Study selection, risk of bias (Rob 2.0 or ROBINS-I), quality of evidence (GRADE), and data collection were performed by two independent reviewers. Results: Of the 1,101 potentially eligible articles, 44 were retrieved, 12 were assessed for eligibility, and 5 were included (4 randomized and 1 controlled clinical trial). As a result, 130 grafted sinuses with 179 placed implants in 103 patients were analyzed. The patients were aged between 24 and 79 years and followed up between 6 and 15 months. The heterogeneity between studies did not allow the data to be combined for meta-analysis. All graft materials proved to be viable options for the intervention. The use of biphasic calcium phosphate was related to higher bone-to-implant contact. Conclusions: All of the assessed grafts are viable options for the addressed intervention. The use of some material is justified to maintain the sinus volume and allow bone formation in the apical implant site under the sinus membrane. Longer chair time and donor site morbidity should be considered when choosing autogenous bone. Purpose: Dental implants are a common treatment method after tooth loss, the accuracy of which directly affects efficacy and stability. Through a network meta-analysis, this study compared the accuracy of different modalities of implant placement: dynamic navigation (DN), fully guided static navigation (FG), partially guided static navigation (PG), and free handed (FH). Materials and Methods: This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. An electronic literature search was conducted on October 2, 2022. The comparison of implant accuracy in all included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conformed to at least one of the following: deviation at the implant crown, deviation at the apical portion of the implant, or angular deviation of the implant. Results: Twenty-six articles were included for the qualitative analysis (17 RCTs, 3 prospective studies, and 6 retrospective studies), and the 17 RCTs were included for network meta-analysis. The data included in this study had high consistency, and the funnel plot showed that the articles had low publication bias. Compared to FH, FG and DN had higher accuracy for coronal deviation (P < .05), and FG, DN, and PG had higher accuracy for apical and angular deviations (P < .05). According to the SUCRA (surface under the cumulative ranking curves) value, FG had the highest accuracy for coronal deviation, while DN had the highest accuracy in apical and angular deviations. Conclusions: According to the present results, the accuracies for DN, FG, and PG were higher than those for FH. DN showed the highest accuracy in terms of apical deviation and angular deviation. FG had the best control over the coronal deviation. There was no statistical difference between DN and FG in terms of accuracy. Purpose: To answer the following focus question: In preclinical in vivo experimental models, do oral implants placed in overdimensioned (OD) sites present greater biomechanical properties and histomorphometric parameters of osseointegration compared to implants placed in standard or undersized implant sockets? Materials and Methods: Online databases were searched for controlled animal studies reporting on OD sites up to February 2023. The relative implant-final drill discrepancy (IDD) was used to categorize the control and test groups according to surgical drilling protocol: (1) control: undersized (IDD > 0.5 mm) or standard (IDD = 0.2 to 0.5 mm); and (2) test OD: stress-free oversized (IDD = 0.0 to -0.1 mm); test GAP: friction-free oversized (IDD = -0.1 mm). Random-effects meta-analyses were performed for the outcomes of insertion and removal torque values (ITV and RTV, respectively), bone-to-implant contact (%BIC), and bone density (%BD) for short- (0 to 2 weeks), intermediate- (3 to 4 weeks), and long-term (= 5 weeks) healing periods. Results: Of the 527 records identified, 13 studies met the eligibility criteria. Histologically, the OD and GAP groups prevented ischemic necrosis and extensive bone resorption at the bone-implant interface in both the marginal cortical layer and the trabeculae. Faster and increased rates of bone formation, characterized by primary osteons and highly vascularized tissue, took place in OD sites between 1 and 5 weeks of healing. Meta-analyses indicated statistically significant benefits in favor of (1) control vs OD for short-term healing in extraoral sites, with pooled estimates (weighted mean difference) of ITV = 25.35 Ncm, %BIC = 2.10%, and %BD = 26.19%; (2) control vs OD for long-term healing in intraoral sites, with %BD = 11.69%; (3) control vs GAP for intermediate-term healing in extraoral sites, with %BD = 3.03%; and (4) control vs GAP for long-term healing in extraoral sites, with RTV = 5.57 Ncm. Conclusions: Oversized surgical preparation of the implant site does not seem to provide any additional benefit compared to standard or undersized sites regarding quantitative parameters of osseointegration. However, it does minimize marginal bone resorption and yields better-quality bone healing, despite the comparable results among different experimental animal models in the late postoperative period. Ambidexterity in a business context has focused primarily on how organizations can strategically coordinate multiple, often competing tasks. Within the marketing function, ambidexterity has centered specifically on how frontline employees can best coordinate sales and service activities manifesting at the frontline. This paper systematically reviews the frontline literature to provide a framework that encompasses and reconciles the many forms of ambidexterity that arise at the frontline interface. This work identifies critical areas for future research to better unify the field, allowing for an inclusive understanding of frontline ambidexterity that encompasses any firm or firm representative involvement in the multiple routine and non-routine demands that emerge within a dynamic frontline interface. Notably, this review suggests a nuanced perspective of frontline ambidexterity, including three distinct forms that are labeled dueling, holistic, and synergistic ambidexterity. Thus, the objectives are to (1) assess the current state of the literature pertaining to a broader understanding of frontline ambidexterity, (2) identify classifications of frontline ambidexterity interactions that allow us to better understand the status of our knowledge base, and (3) critically evaluate this understanding to identify gaps and provide insights regarding extensive directions for future research in this domain. The paper investigated the usage of mobile technology in marketing academic libraries in developing countries. The main purpose, apart from awareness, is to look at how researchers are studying mobile technology in marketing academic libraries, what are the current issues investigated and what has to be the direction of the topic globally. The paper employed 23 research papers for systematic review. The findings reveal that academic libraries are aware of mobile technology and use it at various levels for academic library promotion, visibility, and teaching and learning. Factors influencing the use of mobile technology in marketing academic libraries were identified and further noted that little has been studied regarding mobile technology in marketing academic libraries and its performance in developing countries. This study represents the first comprehensive qualitative systematic review on sport coaches' and teachers' perceptions and application of Game-Based Approaches (GBA) and Constraints-Led Approach (CLA). From searching 12 electronic academic databases from 1982 to 2020, 29 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in the meta-study. Data revealed studies were conducted in several different countries, and case study design was the predominant methodology. The main data collection method reported was cross-sectional interviews. There were inconsistencies in the quality of reporting methodologies, sampling procedures, data analysis, and assessing quality. The meta-theory analysis identified weaknesses in the methodological and conceptual approaches, and a low number of studies stated philosophical perspectives. The meta-synthesis identified assumptions about learning, pedagogical knowledge and skills, content knowledge, and support as the overarching themes reported to impact coaches' and teachers' perceptions and application of GBAs and CLA. New approaches are needed to address low physical activity levels among older adults and to promote daily physical activity tailored to their interests and abilities. This study aimed to review the current literature analyzing the physiological demands of exergames in older adults. A systematic database search was conducted in October 2020 and March 2022. A total of 3,540 studies were screened, and 16 were incorporated into the data analysis. The studies included 527 participants, 61% female, with a mean age of 72.3 ± 4.7 years. Analyzed physiological parameters included mean heart rate, rate of perceived exertion, and metabolic equivalents or oxygen uptake. Exergames are capable of offering light- to moderate-intensity activity for older adults (mean heart rate: 108 ± 9.1 bpm; mean rate of perceived exertion: 11.5 ± 1.8; metabolic equivalents: 2.7 ± 0.7). This study conducts a systematic review of salesperson sampling within the pages of the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management from 2013 to 2022. A total of 284 papers (all inclusive) were identified in the first step of the review. Next articles were qualified based on article types, methodology (research approach), and respondent type before additional analysis was conducted. This resulted in 109 published manuscripts with 147 unique salesperson samples for further review. Specifically, sample scope and participant profiles were examined based on the 109 articles. The sample scope included response metrics, study deployment, and contextual aspects. Participant profile includes the examination of demographics, experience, work details, and performance. Ensuing the systematic review, managerial importance and implications, best practices, and research insights and future research directions are provided. This includes guidance on the sampling frame overview, data collection, and sample contexts of participants for a better understanding of what information should be included in research studies. In turn, this study puts forth evidence that one type of salesperson sample does not fit all sales research, and the generalizability of the sample should be carefully considered. Purpose: Alveolar ridge split (ARS) is ridge augmentation to mitigate ridge width loss that typically follows tooth extraction. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of ARS on alveolar ridge horizontal dimensional changes and the survival rates of implants placed into the same sites. Materials and Methods: An electronic and manual search was conducted for English articles published up to January 1, 2021. The PICO (problem, intervention, comparison, outcome) model for quantitative studies was established to address the following two focused questions: (1) What are the effects of the ARS technique on increasing alveolar width and implant survival?; and (2) what are the factors that influence the efficacy of the ARS technique? The outcome measures in this systematic review and meta-analysis were mean alveolar ridge gain—horizontal (buccolingual) in millimeters from baseline (initial presentation) to final assessment (minimum of 12 weeks after ARS), implant survival rate, and patient-reported complication rate. The risk of bias was evaluated using the ROBINS-I assessment tool for non-randomized interventional studies. Weighted means were calculated, and pooled effects and 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) were depicted on forest plots. Publication bias was assessed by funnel plot and Rosenthal Statistics. A sensitivity analysis was undertaken to assess the primary outcome. Results: Overall, 35 studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in the systematic review. The mean alveolar ridge gain for ARS was 3.06 mm (95% CI: 3.01 to 3.12 mm). A mean gain of 2.99 mm (95% CI: 2.93 to 3.04 mm) was found after sensitivity analysis, excluding one article with a high risk of bias. There were no significant differences in ridge width in the group with bone graft (mean difference [95% CI] of 2.97 mm [2.91 to 3.03 mm]) and in the group without bone graft (mean difference [95% CI] of 3.06 mm [2.92 to 3.20 mm]). The ARS technique demonstrated a 98.17% implant survival rate in 4,446 implants, 4,103 of which were placed at the time of ARS with a 97.72% implant survival rate, and 343 placed in a delayed approach with a 99.14% implant survival rate. The risk of bias was low in 14.2%, low to moderate in 68.5%, moderate in 11.4%, and severe/moderate in 5.7% of the included studies. Conclusions: ARS shows a high implant survival rate in narrow alveolar ridges, adequate horizontal alveolar ridge dimensional gain regardless of adding grafting material, and minimal patient-reported complications. Building on the foundational study conducted by Abeza et al., this work extends the investigation by critically reviewing social media research in sport studies published from June 2014 to June 2023. Methodologically, the review involved an examination of 153 original research articles from five prominent journals in sport communication and sport management, namely the International Journal of Sport Communication, Communication & Sport, Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review, and European Sport Management Quarterly. The study identified the research streams, platforms, theories, and research methods that have garnered attention in the social media research community. The findings reveal several key insights that contribute to the ongoing dialogue in the field, stimulating further exploration and advancing knowledge at the intersection of social media and sport. Despite the prominence given to firm-level international experience (IE), there is a dearth of comprehensive and unified conceptualizations of this concept in the literature. This problem necessitates a targeted study to investigate IE, compile its common conceptualization methods, and integrate the existing literature with a new comprehensive approach. The author aims to achieve this by employing Dewey's philosophy to define IE, reviewing 306 high-quality articles to extract extant approaches to the concept, and integrating these results to provide a new conceptualization. This article supports situations as generators of experience and demonstrates that previous approaches primarily focus on only some aspects of IE, overlooking the phenomenon as a whole. The new IE conceptualization is a seven-dimensional construct that includes length, breadth, depth, intensity, diversity, complexity, and echo. Additionally, the author discusses that IE can be analyzed at six levels depending on its origin (entry mode specific, international marketing specific, or both) and geographical scope (regional vs. global). Purpose: To assess the implant survival rate in mandibles reconstructed with free fibula flap after oral tumor resection after 1 year of prosthetic loading. A secondary objective was to compare immediate or delayed implant placement protocols in this population. Materials and Methods: Electronic and manual searches were performed on different databases for controlled and prospective trials that indicated implant survival rate. This systematic review followed PRISMA guidelines. Risk of bias was evaluated using Cochrane Collaboration tools. Meta-analyses heterogeneity source assessment and GRADE evaluation were performed among studies with identical follow-ups. Results: Among 305 primarily selected articles, 109 were eligible after reading the title and abstract, and 8 were included after full-text reading: 2 randomized controlled trials and 6 prospective studies comprising 140 patients and 507 implants. Meta-analyses estimated an overall survival rate of 97% (95% CI: 94% to 99%) after 1 year of prosthetic loading. The survival rate was 98% (95% CI: 94% to 100%) with immediate implantation and 97% (95% CI: 90% to 99%) with delayed implantation. Only 3 studies reported radiotherapy treatment, with no real impact on implant survival rate. Overall, 69% of tumors were benign. Conclusions: Implant placement in vascularized fibula flaps in the mandible is recommended for patients undergoing segmental mandibular reconstruction after tumor resection. Quantitative data was transformed into qualitised data, then thematically synthesised with qualitative data and coded all findings into themes. Clinicians' and patients' views were also compared.English language peer‐reviewed studies published from 2009 to March 2023 were identified from Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL, PsycINFO and Cochrane Central Library.Thirty‐seven studies (16 quantitative, 17 qualitative, 3 mixed‐methods and 1 quality improvement) met the inclusion criteria. Five main themes represent key factors believed to influence the implementation of evidence‐based surgical site infection prevention and management guidelines: (1) Intentional non‐adherence to insufficiently detailed and outdated guidelines, (2) Knowledge deficits on evidence‐based SSI care bring about inconsistent clinical practice, (3) Collaborative interdisciplinary and patient‐provider relationship to enhance guideline uptake, (4) Infection surveillance to improve patient safety and quality of life and (5) Negative physical and psychological impacts on patients.The five themes reflect a need for updated hospital guidelines as a medium to improve surgical site infection knowledge and ensure consistent and evidence‐based clinical practice. This review also highlights the significance of interdisciplinary and patient‐provider collaboration and infection surveillance to facilitate guideline uptake. The objective of this systematic review was to synthesise the evidence of the impact of pressure injuries (PIs) on the health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) of adults aged 18 years and older. Electronic databases (Ovid Medline, Ovid Embase, CINAHL EBSCO, Scopus and Central Register of Controlled Trials) were searched for eligible studies published between January 2019 and April 2024. All identified articles were reviewed by two reviewers against the eligibility criteria. The risk of bias was assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool and the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal tool. Data were narratively synthesised due to methodological heterogeneity. Twenty‐two studies (12 quantitative; 9 qualitative;1 mixed methods) met the inclusion criteria. The qualitative studies were grouped into four impact areas: symptoms, physical function, psychological well‐being and social functioning. Five instruments were used to assess HRQoL and identified low scores in people with PIs, with the lowest scores mostly reported in physical functioning and role physical and emotional concepts. A complexity of factors influenced theHRQoL of people with PI. This review synthesised both quantitative and qualitative evidence indicating PI was associated with low HRQoL scores and negatively affected all aspects of HRQoL. This review emphasised the complexity of factors related to PI and its impact on HRQoL. A promising approach for managing root caries is the use of cross‐linking agents to stabilize collagen. However, despite testing various natural and synthetic agents in vitro, their efficacy remains uncertain. The aim of this review was to examine which cross‐linking agent performs better in reducing root caries lesion depth and the release of hydroxyproline, which is a marker of collagen degradation. Studies evaluating the impact of cross‐linking agents on dentin were included, while studies performed on enamel surface/cell cultures and studies evaluating collagenase inhibitors were excluded, among others. A comprehensive search covered eight databases, and study quality was assessed using the QUINN Tool for in vitro dental studies. Synthesis of the results was done using a Bayesian network meta‐analysis to compare agents. Fifty studies involving 31 cross‐linking agents were included for qualitative synthesis. The network meta‐analysis for lesion depth involved 284 samples across 36 comparisons and ranked cross‐linking agents in terms of their caries lesion depth‐reducing effect (from best to worst): naringin > quercetin > riboflavin > proanthocyanidins > hesperidin > glutaraldehyde > cranberry > grape seed extract > untreated controls. Only naringin, quercetin, proanthocyanidins, and glutaraldehyde showed statistically significant efficacy over untreated controls. Cranberry extract excelled in reducing hydroxyproline release, followed by proanthocyanidins. In conclusion, proanthocyanidins positively affected both outcomes, suggesting they are prime candidates for translational research. Mindfulness interventions yield significant benefits such as stress reduction, increased empathy and compassion, and enhanced self-efficacy among counselors. These outcomes are particularly valuable for helping professionals. This systematic review examines mindfulness interventions within mental health professional development programs, evaluating their effectiveness, assessing outcomes, and analyzing the mindfulness measures used. A comprehensive search across three databases identified 19 articles meeting the inclusion criteria. Findings demonstrate that diverse formats of mindfulness interventions effectively enhance mindfulness levels, reduce stress, foster self-compassion, and improve mental health outcomes among counselors and trainees. The review underscores the necessity for future studies to report practical significance to further substantiate the impact of mindfulness interventions in professional practice. ABSTRACT Objective Design Methods Results Conclusion To assess the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in reducing depressive and anxiety symptoms in older adults.A systematic review and meta‐analysis.Nine databases were searched for publications up to 2 April 2024, using combinations of search terms related to depression, anxiety, ACT, older adults and randomised controlled trials (RCTs). Two researchers were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, data extraction and methodological quality evaluation, and Stata 16.0 software was used for meta‐analysis.Seven articles were included in a systematic review and six were in a meta‐analysis. The results indicated that, compared to the control group, ACT had a small but significant effect in reducing depressive symptom (SMD = −0.22, 95% CI, −0.38 to −0.06, p < 0.001; 576 older adults; low‐quality evidence), while it showed a small, non‐significant effect on reducing anxiety symptoms (SMD = −0.29, 95% CI, −0.73 to 0.15, p = 0.194; 576 older adults; very low‐quality evidence). Subgroup analysis based on the different control conditions may have some enlightenment on the sources of heterogeneity.ACT can be an important component of future psychotherapy for older adults, as it may alleviate depressive symptoms. However, high‐quality studies with large samples, multiple centres and long follow‐up durations should be performed to further reliably assess the treatment effects of depressive symptoms and explore potential benefits for anxiety symptoms. Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) or C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 2 (CCL-2) is a key chemokine implicated in the inflammatory response to malaria. The objective of the study was to synthesize the evidence on variations in MCP-1/CCL-2 levels in relation to Plasmodium spp. infections and the severity of malaria. The protocol for this systematic review and meta-analysis was registered at PROSPERO (CRD42024565867). To identify relevant studies, a comprehensive search strategy was conducted using major databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Medline, Journals@Ovid, and Nursing & Allied Health Premium. The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal checklists were used to determine the risk of bias in selected studies. The pooled standardized mean difference (SMD, Hedge's g) and their 95% confidence interval (CI) were estimated using the random-effects model. Thirty-three studies, with a total of 6,804 participants enrolled, were included in the systematic review. Most studies (60.6%) were published between 2010 and 2019; the majority (57.6%) were conducted in Africa. The predominant Plasmodium species studied was P. falciparum (66.7%). The meta-analysis revealed no significant difference in MCP-1/CCL-2 levels between Plasmodium-infected and uninfected individuals (P: 0.16, SMD: 0.99, 95% CI: -0.39–2.37, I2: 97.2%, number of participants: 2140). Subgroup analysis found an increase in MCP-1/CCL-2 levels in children with Plasmodium infections, with no heterogeneity observed (I2: 0%). Subgroup analysis found no difference in MCP-1/CCL-2 levels between P. falciparum-infected participants and uninfected participants, as well as between P. falciparum or non-P. falciparum-infected participants and uninfected participants. The meta-analysis revealed significantly higher MCP-1/CCL-2 levels in participants with severe Plasmodium infections compared to those with non-severe malaria (P: 0.04, SMD: 1.51, 95% CI: 0.06–2.95, I2: 98.5%, number of participants: 1371). The systematic review and meta-analysis suggest no statistically significant difference in MCP-1/CCL-2 levels in participants with Plasmodium infections overall. However, there was a significant increase in MCP-1/CCL-2 levels in patients with severe malaria. These findings suggest that MCP-1/CCL-2 may have potential as a prognostic biomarker for severe malaria. Background: Recognizing and appropriately responding to ethical considerations is a crucial element of ethical nursing practice. To mitigate instances of ethical incongruity in healthcare and to promote nurses' comprehension of their professional ethical responsibilities, it is imperative for researchers to accurately evaluate ethical sensitivity. Conducting a systematic review of the available instruments would enable practitioners to determine the most suitable instrument for implementation in the field of nursing. Aim: This review aims to systematically assess the measurement properties of instruments used to measure ethical sensitivity in nursing. Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted in July 2022 in the following electronic databases: Scopus, CINAHL, APAPsycINFO, Embase, Web of Science, and PubMed. Two reviewers independently screened and assessed the studies in accordance with the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) checklist. The updated criteria for good measurement properties are used to rate the result of measurement properties, and the modified Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach was used to grade the quality of the summarized evidence. Results: This review encompasses a total of 29 studies that describe 11 different instruments. Neither cross-cultural validity nor responsiveness was examined in any of the included studies. Whereas the majority of the instruments were conducted with at least some type of validity assessment, nearly all of the reliability results rated were indeterminate. Two instruments were recommended, the Ethical Sensitivity Questionnaire for Nursing Students (ESQ-NS) and the Ethical Awareness Scale for nurses in intensive care units. It is recommended that new self-administration instruments for special nursing settings be developed in accordance with the item response theory (IRT)/Rasch model. Conclusion: The selection of ethical sensitivity measurement instruments in nursing, and further research on the development, psychometric, and cross-cultural adaptation of these instruments, could be conducted in accordance with the findings and suggestions of this systematic review. Background: The potential roles of viral infections in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) have been suggested based on previous studies. Given the high prevalence of human herpesviruses (HHVs), the associations between HHVs infection and the risk of NDDs warrant explored. Methods: Our study employs a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and systematic review with meta-analysis to investigate whether genetically predicted HHVs infection are linked to three main childhood NDDs—autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Tourette syndrome (TS). We utilized genetic variants associated with HHV infections in genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary datasets of European populations to establish instrumental variables and statistics for three NDDs obtained from Psychiatric Genomics Consortium. MR analysis was performed using inverse-variance weighted, MR Egger, weighted median, simple median, weighted mode, and MR-PRESSO. In addition, publications associating HHVs infection with three NDDs were systematically searched using PubMed, Web of Science, and three Chinese databases for meta-analyses. Results: The MR results found no evidence to support a link between genetically predicted HHVs infection and the risk of NDDs based on existing datasets. Twenty-seven observational studies on children with HHVs infection and NDDs were considered eligible. Meta-analysis showed that cytomegalovirus and HHV-6 infection were related with ASD, while Epstein-Barr virus and cytomegalovirus infection were associated with TD in Chinese population. Conclusions: These results contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the possibilities underlying HHV infections in affecting childhood NDDs. Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) has been linked to insulin resistance (IR), with various surrogate indices being used to assess this association. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the relationship between IR indices and the incidence and severity of ED. Methods: A comprehensive search across PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus was carried out. Required data were extracted and meta-analyzed. The Newcastle–Ottawa Scale (NOS) was employed to evaluate the studies' risk of bias. Sensitivity analyses and meta-regressions were conducted to explore heterogeneity and the impact of confounding variables. Results: Seventeen studies with a total of 3810 patients with ED and 8252 without ED were included. Meta-analysis revealed that males with ED had significantly higher levels of Homeostasis Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) (SMD = 0.59, 95% CI [0.15, 1.03], I2 = 82%, P < 0.01), Triglyceride-Glucose Index (TyG) (SMD = 0.53, 95% CI [0.31, 0.75], I2 = 69%, P < 0.01), and Visceral Adiposity Index (VAI) (SMD = 0.45, 95% CI [0.25, 0.64], I2 = 76%, P < 0.01) compared to those without ED. However, there was no significant correlation between a one-unit increase in HOMA-IR (OR = 0.63, 95% CI [0.03, 13.69], I2 = 91%, P = 0.77) or TyG (OR = 0.53, 95% CI [0.02, 11.53], I2 = 88%, P = 0.68) and the odds of ED. Additionally, a one-unit increase in VAI was associated with more severe ED (SMD = 0.34, 95% CI [0.03, 0.64], I2 = 16%, P = 0.03). The diagnostic accuracy of these indices varied. Conclusions: The results indicate a significant connection between insulin resistance and erectile dysfunction, as shown by HOMA-IR, TyG, and VAI. Yet, their usefulness in predicting ED is restricted because of significant differences and inconsistencies in diagnostic precision. Background: The global nursing shortage was a well-known issue before the Covid-19 pandemic, but the Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the current nursing workforce shortage and reduced nursing retention. This systematic review aimed to explore factors affecting retention of nurses. Methods: The PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus and Proquest databases were searched for relevant primary studies published on nurses retention during Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, Google Scholar was searched for retrieving more related documents that may not be indexed in other searched databases. Inclusion criteria were research articles and gray literature related to nursing retention in Covid-19 pandemic, articles published in English, access to the full-texts, and without time limitation. Both qualitative and quantitative studies focusing on factors affecting the nurses retention were included. The Joanna Briggs Institute checklists were used for assessing quality of quantitative and qualitative studies. Qualitative and thematic content analysis methods based on Braun and Clark's model were used to analyze the data. Results: Eighteen studies were identified through a systematic search of the literature. The results showed that seven factors include personal, interpersonal, organizational, social media, educational, emotional, and protective factors are the factors affect the nurses retention. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that retention of nurse is complex and multi-factorial issue that factors from micro to macro-level affect it. Background: The burden of pediatric HIV/AIDS, mother-to-child transmission rate, and unintended pregnancy among HIV-positive women remain high in sub-Saharan Africa, including Ethiopia. Provision of contraceptives is an undeniable strategy to overcome the risks. However, pooled data to provide informed decisions on modern contraceptive use among HIV-positive women attending ART clinics in Ethiopia are meager. Hence, this review aimed to estimate the magnitude of modern contraception, and revisable long act contraceptives methods (RLCM) use and associated factors among HIV positive ART clinic attending women. Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted using PubMed, Google, Cochrane library, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Scopus database. A funnel plot and Egger's regression test were used to assess publication bias. Heterogeneity of studies was assessed using I-square statistics and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) quality assessment tool was applied to ensure the quality of the included articles. We employed a random-effect model to pool the national utilization of modern contraceptives and the effect size of associated factors. We conducted sub-group analysis by regions to control heterogeneity and to detect variation. Results: A total of 21 studies were included in the meta-analysis. The magnitude of pooled utilization of modern contraceptive and RLCM was 60% [95% CI: 52–68] and 11%, [95% CI: 8–14], respectively. In the random effect model, young women [OR = 2.36, 95% CI: 1.78–3.13], attending secondary school and above [AOR = 1.34, 95% CI: 1.06–1.69], having two or more live children [AOR = 1.84, 95% CI: 1.46–2.34], discussion with a husband [AOR = 2.92, 95% CI: 2.39–3.57], CD4 > 250cells/mm3 [AOR = 1.59, 95% CI: 1.08–2.33], and using HAART [AOR = 1.71, 95% CI: 1.35–2.15] increased odds of modern contraceptive methods utilization. Conclusion: Overall the utilization of RLCM among modern contraceptive users HIV positive women is low. Therefore, to improve the uptake of RLCM among modern contraceptive users HIV positive women, policymakers and program designers need to take into account age and educational levels of women and programs which enhance reproductive health consultation habit between couples. Background: We systematically reviewed Mendelian randomization (MR) studies and summarized evidence on the potential effects of different antihypertensive drugs on health. Methods: We searched PubMed and Embase for MR studies evaluating the effects of antihypertensive drug classes on health outcomes until 22 May 2024. We extracted data on study characteristics and findings, assessed study quality, and compared the evidence with that from randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Results: We identified 2643 studies in the search, of which 37 studies were included. These studies explored a wide range of health outcomes including cardiovascular diseases and their risk factors, psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, immune function and infection, and other outcomes. There is strong evidence supporting the protective effects of genetically proxied antihypertensive drugs on cardiovascular diseases. We found strong protective effects of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors on diabetes whereas beta-blockers showed adverse effects. ACE inhibitors might increase the risk of psoriasis, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease but did not affect COVID-19. There is strong evidence that ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are beneficial for kidney and immune function, and CCBs showed a safe profile for disorders of pregnancy. Most studies have high quality. RCT evidence supports the beneficial effects of ACE inhibitors and CCBs on stroke, diabetes, and kidney function. However, there is a lack of reliable RCTs to confirm the associations with other diseases. Conclusions: Evidence of the benefits and off-target effects of antihypertensive drugs contribute to clinical decision-making, pharmacovigilance, and the identification of drug repurposing opportunities. Several studies have investigated the role of HIF-1α in predicting the prognosis of patients with glioblastoma, yielding contradictory results. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to document the correlation between HIF-1α and glioblastoma in individuals diagnosed with glioblastoma. We searched the PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science by January 25, 2024. Hazard Ratio (HR) was used to evaluate the relationship between HIF-1α and survival outcome, and Odds Ratio (OR) was adopted for tumor features.There was incorporation of nine observational studies with 607 individuals. The total prevalence of HIF-1α (higher than cut-off values) among individuals with glioblastoma was 0.72 (95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.68–0.75, I2 = 95.1%). There is a strong association between increased levels of HIF-1α in tumour tissues and shorter Overall Survival (OS) (HR = 1.82, 95% CI = 1.41–2.34, I2 = 13.7%). Subgroup analysis also indicated a correlation between higher levels of HIF-1α and reduced OS, specifically in the Asian population (HR = 1.48, 95% CI = 1.13–1.83, I2 = 41.5%). In addition, there was a correlation between HIF-1α and age (older vs. younger, OR = 2.19, 95% CI = 1.25–3.86, P = 0.260). High levels of HIF-1α expression were associated with poorer survival outcomes and other clinicopathological characteristics of glioblastoma. Three out of five studies reported that nurse‐led e‐health interventions significantly reduced depressive symptoms. Four studies reported significant improvements in stress and self‐efficacy after the intervention. Two studies reported significant improvements in anxiety symptoms, self‐management ability, and quality of life after the intervention. One study showed that weight gain and physical activity significantly improved after the intervention. ABSTRACT Chitosan, a commonly used dietary supplement, is believed to have the potential to decrease body weight by binding to dietary fats and decreasing their absorption. However, due to conflicting results from various studies, this review aimed to investigate the effects of chitosan supplementation on obesity indicators in adults. To find appropriate randomized clinical trials (RCTs), a thorough search was conducted across electronic databases like PubMed/Medline, Scopus, and ISI Web of Science. The random‐effects method was employed to combine the data, and the outcomes were presented as the weighted mean difference (WMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). In total, 19 RCTs with 21 effect sizes were included in the meta‐analysis. The combined analysis showed that chitosan supplementation significantly reduced body weight (WMD = −0.79 kg; 95% CI, −1.30 to −0.29; p = 0.002) and body‐fat percentage (BFP) (WMD = −0.41%; 95% CI, −0.50 to −0.32; p < 0.001). Additionally, there was a notable increase in fat‐free mass (FFM) (WMD = 0.20 kg; 95% CI, 0.06–0.34; p = 0.005). However, no significant impact of chitosan on body mass index (BMI) (WMD = −0.35 kg/m2, 95% CI: −0.71, 0.00; p = 0.054) and waist circumference (WC) (WMD = −0.71 cm, 95% CI: −1.49, 0.05; p = 0.069) was observed. Overall, chitosan supplementation shows promise in improving obesity indicators by reducing BFP and increasing FFM. To examine whether cognitive frailty serves as a predictor of hospitalisation in older adults. PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus and Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched from inception to February 6, 2024. The reviewers independently selected studies, extracted data and evaluated the quality of studies. Stata 15.1 Software was used to perform the meta‐analysis. A total of 13 articles were included in this study, including 34 230 participants. The results suggested that cognitive frailty was associated with hospitalisation in older adults (odds ratio (OR) = 1.79, 95% CI: 1.33–2.42, P < 0.001). The risk of hospitalisation for patients with cognitive frailty was 1.76 times higher than that for patients without cognitive frailty (relative risk = 1.76, 95% CI: 1.48–2.08, P < 0.001). According to different models of cognitive frailty, the results of subgroup analysis showed that the frail + cognitive impairment group had the highest risk of hospitalisation (OR = 2.22, 95% CI: 1.51–3.26, P < 0.001). Subgroup analysis based on study design showed that the incidence of hospitalisation was lowest in the cohort study group (OR = 1.51, 95% CI: 1.14–2.00, P = 0.004). This study suggested that cognitive frailty was an important predictor of hospitalisation in older adults. Future studies are needed to investigate the impact of cognitive frailty on hospitalisation in older adults, as this may help reduce hospitalisation rates and improve patients' quality of life. However, family members often face challenges when collaborating with healthcare professionals. Family members of people with severe and profound intellectual disabilities often encounter many professionals due to medical needs and the severity of their disability. Therefore, providing a comprehensive overview of existing literature on the needs and experiences of family members of relatives with severe or profound intellectual disabilities when collaborating with healthcare professionals is needed to provide insight into how to stimulate and support collaboration.The review was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) statement. Seven databases were systematically searched and a thematic analysis was conducted on 23 studies.Five overarching themes were identified: (1) need for a balanced view of their relative; (2) need for recognition and compassion; (3) healthcare professionals facilitating close and active involvement; (4) desired qualities of healthcare professionals and (5) conditions for successful interaction between family members and healthcare professionals.The results indicated distinct needs that family members had for themselves and their relatives, as well as desired qualities (e.g. trustworthiness) and supporting factors (e.g. information). Furthermore, the review highlighted persisting needs, such as the need for information and empathy, as well as emerging needs, such as the desire to be recognised as experts and to develop personal bonds with healthcare professionals. Social support has long been acknowledged for mitigating stress and enhancing personal well-being. Despite the increasing attention to this area of research, there remains a considerable variation in how social support is defined and measured in existing studies. To gain a more thorough understanding of the role of social support for community corrections offenders, a systematic review was conducted, scouring studies published between January 2000 and December 2023 across five databases: Web of Science, Scopus, PsycINFO, MEDLINE, and Criminal Justice Abstracts. Sixteen studies met the eligibility criteria. The majority of these studies indicated that social support effectively alleviated the challenges faced by community corrections offenders, although there were some conflicting findings between different studies. A total of 180 studies on psychological capital and burnout were retrieved from Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, Medline, and PsycINFO. The articles were written in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Then, 23 studies were included in several meta‐analyses (random‐effects models) performed with the R statistical program.Analysis of the 23 studies revealed that psychological capital and burnout are significantly correlated. The Psychological Capital Questionnaire (PCQ) and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) were the most used scales to measure psychological capital and burnout, respectively. The meta‐analyses showed an inverse correlation between psychological capital and burnout (r = −0.44, 95% CI [−0.51, −0.36], n = 6092), and emotional exhaustion (r = −0.32, 95% CI [−0.42, −0.21], n = 3349).This review provides evidence of the negative relationship between psychological capital and burnout in registered nurses. In this study, we aimed to explore the impact of okra consumption on glycemic parameters and lipid profile in adults, including homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA‐IR), glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C), and high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL‐C). To find relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs), we systemically searched EMBASE, Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Scopus until April 2024. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, eight studies involving 521 participants were ultimately included in the present study. Compared to placebo, okra consumption remarkably decreased FBG (WMD: −32.56 mg/dL; 95% CI: −48.83, −16.28; p < 0.001; I2 = 84.7%), HbA1c (WMD: −0.48%; 95% CI: −0.81, −0.16; p = 0.004; I2 = 5.5%), TG (WMD: −13.16 mg/dL; 95% CI: −23.54, −2.77; p = 0.013; I2 = 0.0%), and TC (WMD: −9.70 mg/dL; 95% CI: −14.95, −4.46; p < 0.001; I2 = 38.3%) in adults. However, okra showed no notable impact on HOMA‐IR, HDL‐C, and LDL‐C. Okra consumption has an improving effect on adult FBG, HbA1c, TG, and TC levels. More large‐scale RCT studies are necessary to validate the beneficial effects of okra on adults due to the limited number of included RCTs.Trial Registration: PROSPERO: CRD42024540121 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present review aimed to investigate the effectiveness of aerobic exercise (AE) compared to other interventions in decreasing pain intensity and reducing disability in individuals with neck pain. A systematic review (SR) of randomized controlled trials was conducted. This SR was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42021231231). Searches were conducted in five electronic databases (MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, Cochrane and SCOPUS). Studies were selected if they included adults over 18 years old with neck pain. The primary outcomes were pain intensity and physical function. A meta‐analysis was conducted when applicable. Cochrane RoB Tool‐2 was used to determine the risk of bias of included studies, and the certainty of the evidence was determined using the GRADE approach. Out of 4669 initial records screened, six studies published in 12 articles were included. AE was not statistically different compared to no‐treatment or other interventions (e.g., localized exercise or acupuncture) on pain intensity measured with a visual analogue scale (VAS) (mean difference (MD) [95%CI]: 5.16 mm [−6.38, 16.70]). Contrarily, strengthening exercise was better than AE for pain intensity (MD [95%CI]: −11.34 mm [−21.6, −1.09]) after treatment. However, when AE was combined with other therapy (strengthening exercises or acupuncture), the combined therapy was better than isolated treatments (MD [95%CI]: 7.71 mm [1.07, 14.35]). A high heterogeneity was observed between protocols, comparisons, and results (magnitudes and directions). In conclusion, AE had positive results only when combined with other therapies to reduce pain intensity and disability in patients with neck pain. Background: Cleft lip and palate (CLP) is one of the most common birth defects worldwide. It typically results in significant maxillary dysplasia, causing severe oral function problems and substantially affecting the patient's facial aesthetics. Maxillary anterior segmental distraction osteogenesis (MASDO) has gained popularity in recent years as an effective treatment for correcting maxillary dysplasia. However, the evaluation of its effectiveness in patients with CLP varies across different studies. Our research was aimed at providing evidence of the effects of MASDO among CLP patients. Methods: A meta-analysis covered Medline, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane Library. Controlled clinical trial studies published before February 2024 and analyzed changes in maxillary cephalometric landmarks before and after MASDO among patients with maxillary hypoplasia and CLP were included. Results: Our meta-analysis included 10 papers in total. One study was at low risk of bias, seven were at medium risk, and two were at serious risk. MASDO significantly increased the maxillary length. The mean SNA angle increased by 6.43° (95% CI, 4.11° to 8.74°) and A-McNamara rose by 7.29 mm (95% CI, 6.21 mm to 8.37 mm). The maxilla also showed a slight counterclockwise rotation; however, this reached no statistical significance. The mandibular position did not vary remarkably. Moreover, a significant increase in upper anterior tooth tipping and overjet, a decrease in overbite, and an improvement in nasolabial soft tissue were observed. Conclusions: MASDO might be a valid therapy option for CLP patients. It causes a significant increase in the maxillary length, anterior tooth crossbite, and nasolabial soft tissue were also greatly improved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: The literature lacks comprehensive evidence on the efficacy of advanced platelet rich fibrin(A-PRF) in treating gingival recession. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of A-PRF in the treatment of gingival recession. Materials and methods: We adhered to the guidelines of PRISMA in searching the following databases: PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Scopus to include all the eligible studies according to the prespecified inclusion and exclusion criteria. We conducted our search up to February 28, 2024. We conducted a meta-analysis of the primary and secondary clinical outcomes to measure the changes from baseline to 6 months after surgery. Results: Our review included 10 randomized clinical trials in which 146 participants with 457 recession defects were included. We found that combination of A-PRF with various surgical techniques, such as coronally advanced flap (CAF) connective tissue graft (CTG), VISTA, tunneling, and pinhole surgical technique, demonstrated promising outcomes but varied by comparison group. We observed that CTG with CAF showed a higher reduction in recession depth in comparison to A-PRF with CAF. This review indicated no statistical or clinical differences in recession width, width of keratinized gingiva, probing depth, and clinical attachment level between the study and control groups. Conclusions: Due to the less invasive nature of A-PRF, it provides a better clinical option to improve the outcomes of treating gingival recession. Background: Interprofessional education (IPE) refers to a teaching and learning method in which students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes. A systematic review was performed to investigate the current practice and the effectiveness of IPE in pharmacy education. Methods: Databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Medline, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP China Science and Technology Journal, and WanFang were searched from inception to September 20, 2024, using search terms such as interprofessional, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, IPE, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical education. Studies were screened and included if they were randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or cohort studies reporting the outcome differences between pharmacy students participating in IPE activities and those receiving lecture-based learning. Reporting quality was evaluated using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool 2 and the Newcastle Ottawa Scale. Detailed information including the studies' general information, research methods, and results were collected. Primary outcomes including pharmacy students' interprofessional competence, readiness for and attitudes towards IPE, class satisfaction, and professional knowledge were analyzed with meta-analysis or reported descriptively. Results: Seven RCTs and seven cohort studies were included in the systematic review. Eight studies reported that IPE demonstrated a positive impact on pharmacy students' interprofessional competence (p < 0.05). Three studies showed that IPE enhanced students' readiness for participating in interprofessional learning (p < 0.05). Four studies revealed that IPE significantly improved the attitude of pharmacy students towards IPE (p < 0.0001). The meta-analysis of the two cohort studies showed that IPE significantly improved the Attitudes Towards Health Care Teams (ATHCT) scale scores (SMD = 0.41, 95% CI = 0.22–0.60). Students who participated in IPE activities were generally satisfied with the course (average score > 4.0 out of 5.0). Apart from embedded in courses, some novel IPE programs were conducted, such as outpatient clinics operated by interprofessional students. Conclusions: The study revealed that IPE was widely used in pharmacy education. IPE enhanced pharmacy students' interprofessional competence, class satisfaction, and their readiness for and attitudes towards interprofessional learning.
