This study evaluated the success or failure of using Virtual Workspace (VW) in a project-based physics laboratory. This study uses a qualitative approach with 4E evaluation methods: educational effectiveness, ease of use, involvement, and environment. Data were collected through a questionnaire to evaluate the implementation and practical functions of the VW CCCW. In addition, data were also collected using interview techniques to find out how the perceptions of students and instructors or lecturers during project-based physics practicums apply VW CCCW. The sample of this study consisted of 126 respondents consisting of 104 prospective physics teacher students, 12 lecturers of basic physics courses, and ten laboratory instructors representing public and private teacher education universities in Aceh. The evaluation findings show that VW has been successfully implemented and tested. The use of virtual workspaces as a tool in practical work is very effective in training 4C skills. Therefore, as an implication in the 4.0 revolution era, virtual workspaces in practicum can be a new way to work collaboratively with task management, creative action plans, communication and problem solving, critical thinking and completing projects, and practicum performance evaluation and assessment.

This research aims to fill the gap in sustainable insurance product study. The central research question of this research is how to develop a fair pricing framework in order to design a sustainable financial product. Current profit testing method is arguably lack of policyholder considerations. The profitability decision under current method only considers profit margin for company. There is no profitability measurement for policyholder. To improve fairness under current pricing, the proposed study proposes a concept of equity in risk between company and policyholder. In order to establish equity in risk, profitability for policyholder needs to be defined and risk measure Conditional Tail Expectation (CTE) for company and policyholder is proposed as a solution. Fairness is achieved if CTE between company and policyholder falls within certain range. CTE generated under new framework could be used as a reference point to all stakeholders to assess the fairness of Unit Linked price. The target population for the study was any regular premium Unit Link product. This research used simple random sampling. From the population consisting of 34 companies 20 samples were drawn. Data is taken from the Indonesian Financial Service Authority. The data used is from the time period between 1 January 2015 and 30 June 2019. Using the CTE, this study finds that most of the Unit Linked pricing are far from fair. It is recommended that companies could be more efficient in their operating and distribution cost in order to be fairer to policyholder and therefore will make the product more sustainable.

BackgroundThe COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the mental health of university students. ObjectiveThis study examined the psychological responses toward COVID-19 among university students from 3 countries—Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand. MethodsWe used a web-based, cross-sectional survey to recruit 1985 university students from 5 public universities (2 in Indonesia, 1 in Thailand, and 1 in Taiwan) via popular social media platforms such as Facebook, LINE, WhatsApp, and broadcast. All students (n=938 in Indonesia, n=734 in Thailand, and n=313 in Taiwan) answered questions concerning their anxiety, suicidal thoughts (or sadness), confidence in pandemic control, risk perception of susceptibility to infection, perceived support, resources for fighting infection, and sources of information in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. ResultsAmong the 3 student groups, Thai students had the highest levels of anxiety but the lowest levels of confidence in pandemic control and available resources for fighting COVID-19. Factors associated with higher anxiety differed across countries. Less perceived satisfactory support was associated with more suicidal thoughts among Indonesian students. On the other hand, Taiwanese students were more negatively affected by information gathered from the internet and from medical staff than were Indonesian or Thai students. ConclusionsOur findings suggest that health care providers in Thailand may need to pay special attention to Thai university students given that high levels of anxiety were observed in this study population. In addition, health care providers should establish a good support system for university students, as the results of this study indicate a negative association between support and suicidal thoughts.

Islamic education and multiculturalism are connected to each other where the content of multiculturalism in national scale includes religious character as one of the core components, whereas Islamic education relies on commands and prohibitions regarding multiculturalism stated in Alqur'an. Therefore, since intercultural competence and religious character development of students are considered to be important and become one of fundamental objectives existed in national curriculum of 2013 in Indonesia, this research is aimed at conducting Research and Development (R & D) related to developing Islamic Religious course or what so called by "Pendidikan Agama Islam" (PAI) in Indonesian context in high schools in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. In terms of data collection, the data gained from observation, interview, questionnaire, and validation techniques. Moreover, five stages of ADDIE model were employed in conducting the development research of PAI materials which includes Analysis, Design, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. As a result, findings showed that material design of PAI teaching is feasible and effective to be used in PAI teaching and learning due to good criteria gained from the validation result from material expert and excellent category from media expert. Students' responses towards the implementation of product design of PAI teaching materials showed good to excellent result towards all aspect assessment. Highlighting points regarding novelty and pedagogical implication are discussed further in this research.

The purpose of this study is to describe 1) how the implementation of blended learning at the State Islamic Institute of Samarinda (IAIN Samarinda), and 2) how students respond to the implementation of blended learning. The research subjects were students in the Islamic Religious Education program at Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Samarinda East Kalimantan. The method used was a descriptive qualitative research approach. The technique used observation, interview, and questionnaire instruments. The subjects were 32 students of Islamic Religious Education Program at FTIK IAIN Samarinda. The data analysis was carried out with the model of Miles & Huberman, namely in three steps: data reduction, display and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicated that 1) students and lecturers are actively involved in the face-to-face learning process and online activities on the e-learning website. These results indicated that a positive potential for education with blended learning innovation is implemented at public Islamic higher education such as IAIN Samarinda.

This article explains how the project-based lab (PJB-Lab) trains critical thinking skills, creative thinking skills, communication skills and collaboration skills (4C Skills) and produces two project products from the application of the fluid concept, namely the application of Archimedes' law on submarine projects and the application of hydrostatic pressure on the project's hydraulic pumps (Hydram). This study uses a quasi-experimental method involving 112 students studying at two universities located in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. The results of the study show that 4C skills can be improved well with an increase in the high category. Therefore, PJB-Lab has been proven to be effective in facilitating and training the 4C skills of prospective physics teachers at universities and can be considered for application with students in schools.

After the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), people got used to online shopping. Another impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is that many people are interested in caring for plants. This new hobby has increased interest in plant seeds for plant sellers. Many of these plant fans buy plant seeds online. This application aims to help people who want to shop for plant seeds easily and with good quality. Because these plant seeds cannot be airtight for more than 5 days, we provide a feature to track orders so you can find out the location of the order. Therefore, this application is designed to provide solutions to make trading easier. In this design, we use the design thinking method which consists of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. With the Design Thinking approach, the researcher successfully addressed user issues through the development of the Dagang.in application. The integration of features such as Tracking, Trade, Notifications, and others enhances the User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) of the Juragan Kebun application. Usability testing of the prototype with five respondents demonstrated success, reflected in a high satisfaction score of 4.5 out of 5.

Bener Meriah Regency has roads with a high accident rate, including the Bireuen-Takengon National Road from KM 045+000 to KM 047+000 in the Pintu Rime Gayo District. In 2022, there were 34 accidents on this road, resulting in 17 fatalities, 0 serious injuries, and 28 minor injuries. The material losses amounted to Rp. 222,000,000. This study assesses perceptions of the black spot on the road and the plan for constructing the Tajuk Enang-Enang Bridge. The research method includes a survey of geometric conditions and the distribution of questionnaires to 200 respondents. The data were analysed using factor analysis with SPSS software. The questionnaire consists of respondent characteristics and perceptions using a Likert scale with answer choices ranging from 1 to 4. The observation results indicate that many roads need to meet the standards, such as the right of way, space for monitoring roads, and road surfaces. Variable Q8 had the highest average score (3.78), while variable Q12 had the lowest average score (2.42). On average, respondents answered the questionnaire with a mean score of 3.07. The factor analysis results show that the construction of the Tajuk Enang-Enang Bridge affects the economy of the central region (variable weight of 0.825), road safety (variable weight of 0.819), and travel time (variable weight of 0.757).

The goal of this research is to investigate the act of design in discharge concept using Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) approach with Lapindo's Mud phenomenon as a context. Design research was chosen as the method used in this research that consists of three phases, namely preparing for the experiment, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. Based on the result of investigating from findings and the data obtained in this research, it can be concluded that the use of instructional design using PMRI can support students' understanding in learning the concept of discharge. Observing activities Lapindo mud photos, watching videos Lapindo mud, observing miniature discharge of Lapindo mud, volume of water and time of data collection are needed, and finding discharge of Lapindo mud are conducted in this research.

A bibliometric analysis is conducted for a scientific paper in Scopus databases about phenomenon-based learning, focusing on studies related to the use of phenomenon-based learning (PhenoBL) in learning at elementary, secondary, and higher education. The research purposes were 1) To analyze the results of bibliometric mapping visualization on research trends in phenomenon-based learning and its contribution to science learning. 2) To analyze author collaboration on research trends in phenomenon-based learning. 3) Recommendations for future phenomenon-based learning in science learning. In this research, the descriptive method is applied with a bibliometric approach. As much as 324 data were obtained through the Scopus databases published from 2012 to 2021. The study was carried out using R studio and the Bibliometrix R package. The results showed that phenomenon-based learning made a significant contribution to learning in elementary, secondary, and higher education. Phenomenon-based learning can be integrated with learning innovations in schools and can also train/improve students' thinking skills. Phenomenon-based learning also dominates the social sciences. This study examines the development of "science process skill" research through a bibliometric approach to computational mapping analysis using VOSviewer. The article data was obtained from the Google Scholar database using the publish or perish reference manager application. The title and abstract of the article are used to guide the search process by referring to the keyword "science process skill". Nine hundred sixty-seven articles were found that were considered relevant. The study period used as the study material is the Google Scholar-indexed article for the last six years (2018 to 2023). The results showed that science process skill research can be separated into 3 terms: science process skill, process skill, and science process. The first term is "science process skill" that is included in cluster 1, which has 71 links, a total strength of 4342 links, and 888 occurrences. The second term is "process science". This term is included in cluster 4, which has 61 links, a total link strength of 278, and 47 occurrences. The third term is "process skill". This term is included in cluster 3, which has 67 links, a total link strength of 570, and 100 occurrences. There was an increase in the number of publications from 2018 to 2021. However, it experienced a decline in 2022 up to July 2023. This indicates a decreasing trend in the number of publications in research on science process skills in the last three years, from 2021 to 2023. The results show that research related to science process skills still has a high enough opportunity to be researched. Several keywords related to "science process skills" have not been or are rarely used in research, some of which are an integration of learning models, prospective teachers/pre-service teachers, mixed methods research, assessment of learning, assessment as learning, and assessment for learning. This research highlights the crucial role of KH. Ghalib in enriching literacy through Islamic preaching and education in the Lampung Province. The research methodology employs a historical approach comprising four steps: heuristic, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Primary information was obtained through interviews with community figures in Pringsewu who have in-depth knowledge of KH. Ghalib's role in preaching. The research results indicate that KH. Ghalib was a reformist fighter born in 1899 in Mojosantren Village, Krian, East Java. After completing his education at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, he embarked on a preaching journey that took him to various regions in Indonesia, including North Sumatra, Malaysia, and Kalimantan. In 1927, after performing the Hajj pilgrimage, KH. Ghalib arrived in Singapore and from there, he traveled to Pringsewu, Lampung. KH. Ghalib established the first madrasah in the region in 1930, using an education method based on memorization and sorogan. Additionally, KH. Ghalib was active in preaching activities and managed various economic initiatives to support the operation of the madrasah. These efforts demonstrate the significant role of KH. Ghalib in promoting Islamic literacy in the Pringsewu Subdistrict, making a substantial contribution to the development of education and the dissemination of Islamic values in the community during the period of 1930-1945. This study examines the Sufi teachings of Sheikh Imam Manaqib, with a focus on his role in spreading the Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya Sufi order in Adiluwih and its surrounding areas. Sheikh Imam Manaqib, originally from East Java, migrated to Lampung in the 1950s and chose Adiluwih as his place of residence. This study employs a historical research approach with a social perspective. The author utilizes the Great Man Theory as an analytical tool. The results revealed that Sheikh Imam Manaqib played a significant role in his Sufi mission by dedicating himself to disseminating knowledge and seeking spiritual enlightenment. Sheikh Imam Manaqib developed a profound understanding of Sufism through formal and informal education in East Java, especially at the Islamic boarding school Mambaul Hikam. His teachings encompassed various subjects, ranging from the fundamentals of Sufism to the practical implementation of the doctrines of the Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya order. Additionally, unique practices such as "Turu Mayit" were taught to seekers as part of their spiritual development. Sheikh Imam Manaqib's efforts in teaching the Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya order resulted in the rapid formation of a thriving community, officially recognized by the Central Lampung Regent in 1988. His legacy continues to have an impact to this day, influencing spiritual seekers from various age groups and backgrounds. This research provides insights into Sheikh Imam Manaqib's distinctive approach to teaching the Sufi order and underscores the enduring influence of his teachings on the Lampung community. Renewable energy sources have become one of the important roles for sustainable energy development. One of the promising mechanisms to deploy renewable energy is through a Virtual Power Plant (VPP), which can integrate various distributed renewable energy resources into a single controllable and deployable entity. This paper examines the opportunity for VPP adoption in Indonesia, which investigates the minimum implementation criteria, provides a gap analysis for VPP implementation, and proposes recommendations for VPP implementation in Indonesia. The implementation criteria are obtained from the literature review, including the lessons learned from other countries, and categorized into four aspects: regulatory, technical, economic, and social. The gap analysis is performed by evaluating the current state of Indonesia's utility network in correlation with the VPP minimum implementation criteria and then provides a scoring matrix for each criterion. Lastly, the recommendations are arranged to narrow these gaps, organized into ten key focus points, and divided into four phases, initiation, preparation, piloting, and deployment, across a ten-year timeframe. A prominent ocean region exhibiting depleted oxygen concentration is the northern Indian Ocean, whose projected deoxygenation trend in response to climate change requires a comprehensive understanding of the roles of ocean dynamics. We present newly compiled in situ data across platforms (e.g. cruises, Argo, buoy) in the Indonesian coasts of Sumatra and Java between 2010–2022. Combined with reanalysis products, our data detect oxygen-depleted waters attributed to the eastward advection of the northern Indian Ocean waters and monsoon-driven coastal upwelling. Oxygen limited zones (OLZs, DO < 60 μmol kg-1) occupy various depths off the Sumatra-Java coasts, in which dissolved oxygen (DO) reaches ~40 μmol kg-1 in northwest Sumatra. The eastward propagating Equatorial Counter Current plays a major role in delivering the oxygen-depleted waters during the boreal summer; similarly, the South Equatorial Counter Current in the winter monsoon and the Wyrtki Jet during the transition months. Coastal upwelling regulates DO variations via primary production and the respiration of organic matter at intermediate depths in southern Java as the upwelled waters being advected westward towards Sumatra in the summer monsoon. Indonesian Throughflow with enriched organic matter modifies the oxygenated-depleted waters at its outlets. We observe a trend towards deepened OLZ in western Sumatra, while positive Indian Ocean Dipole events (2006, 2012, 2015, 2019) lower DO in the thermocline depths of southern Java on the interannual timescale. Altogether, high-resolution observational biogeochemical data are key to advance our understanding of dynamical DO changes in the southeastern tropical Indian Ocean under the global deoxygenation trend. Digital technology has rapidly developed in recent years, affecting the culture and patterns of transactions. One of the innovations in digital payments is the emergence of the Quick Response Indonesian Standard (QRIS). However, massive QRIS education at all levels of society is not in line with the community's response, which still maintains traditional payment patterns, especially in the Soloraya area. This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the adoption of QRIS (technology use). This approach was carried out using technology acceptance model modification theory. A sample of 100 people was obtained using a simple random sampling method in communities located in the former Surakarta (Soloraya) residency, namely Sragen, Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, Wonogiri, Klaten, Boyolali and Surakarta City Regencies. Data analysis techniques with partial least squares structural equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results show that all variables in the TAM modification construct consisting of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risk and perceived security influence the decision to use QRIS with intention as a mediating variable. This systematic review investigates the efficacy of psychosocial stimulation interventions in improving the developmental outcomes of stunted toddlers during their first 1000 days of life. We used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework to analyse 13 articles that met strict inclusion criteria from various scientific disciplines. Our findings reveal that interventions emphasising family empowerment, enhanced hygiene, and strategic health education significantly impact child growth and cognitive development. Community-based approaches, including cash transfers and educational programs, support sustainable development in resource-limited settings. This review also identifies the importance of cultural adaptation in intervention strategies, ensuring community acceptance and effective implementation. Despite the promising outcomes, the variability in research methodologies and the focus on specific socioeconomic contexts limit the generalizability of the results. Future research should expand the studies' geographical and cultural scope to validate these findings comprehensively. The implications of this review support the integration of psychosocial stimulation into public health policies, highlighting its potential to improve developmental trajectories and reduce stunting in affected populations substantially. Advances in energy storage technology have allowed the application of load shifting in the utility grid for a more efficient power system operation. However, the economy of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) application is not linear to the cost reduction obtained from excluding the costly generators. This paper presents the economic analysis of cost-based load shifting implementation and an approach to determine the generation units to be deactivated and replaced by BESS on three large-scale power grids in Indonesia: Sumbagut, Sumbagteng, and Sumbagsel systems. The economic feasibility is evaluated using the Net Present Value (NPV), considering the savings and the BESS investment cost. The result shows that the proposed approach is more robust than the conventional methods, such as removing the most expensive units, units with the highest cost reduction, units with the best economic return contribution, or the maximum number of units that can be replaced. Objective: This study aims to develop an integrated model of innovation and resilience by examining previous research and identifying opportunities for future research. Design/Methods/Approach: This study interprets the bibliometric analysis report for SMEs' sustainability from 2000 to 2022 based on peer-reviewed journal articles. We used the Scopus database as it is considered to have a broader range of journals. To identify the concept of the relevant topic area, we searched for the article title, abstract, and keywords of journals using keyword combinations' SME' AND 'Sustainability'. We discovered 553 articles, which consist of 1598 authors from 260 journals. Findings: This study discover three clusters based on the bibliometric coupling analysis, which discuss the strategies for SMEs' sustainability. The strategies cover 1) sustainable innovation practice, 2) expanding the role of innovation for sustainable development (from theory to practice), and 3) Supporting SMEs to reach their sustainability. These strategies construct our integrative model for achieving SMEs' Sustainability and develop three stages: early adoption, sustainablebased growth, and full implementation. Along with the identified strategies and model, we also attempt to present two significant elements, innovation and resilience, arguing that both are complementary processes in SMEs' Sustainability. Originality/Value: This research contributes to developing key trends in SME sustainability, delivering key clusters in this topic, and providing an integrative model for sustainability implementation for SMEs. By using bibliometric analysis, such as co-occurrence network, clustering, thematic map, and visualization of state of the art, this study may bring a valuable result in developing the literature by extending the study of innovation and resilience for business sustainability. Practical/Policy implication: The model presented provides a clear process for researchers, managers, and organizations to analyze and adopt the necessary stages to achieve sustainable growth for SMEs. Marine debris pollution can threaten the sustainability of natural resources in coastal regions ecosystem. Marine debris is worldwide issue now and Indonesia considered as a second biggest polluter of plastic to the world ocean. Massive efforts have been applied to tackle marine debris, both by the central government and provincial level, to manage these problems and minimize the impact on the coastal ecosystem. Various types of marine debris threaten the mangrove and seagrass ecosystem by covering its roots and leaves, slowing down its growth rate, and even killing them. The aim of this research is to identify the composition of marine debris in estuary waters and mangrove ecosystem. The research activity was conducted in Muaragembong, Bekasi Regency, which is considered part of Jakarta Bay as the source of the marine debris site. The result showed that the marine debris composition during the east monsoon (July) was dominated by plastic with 71%, while during the transition east-to-west monsoon (November) ranged from 59% and equally distributed surrounding estuary waters and mangrove ecosystem. Fifteen types of macro plastic were found in waters in July, larger than those found in November (13 types). The predominant type of macro plastic is Styrofoam, followed by crackle plastic, sachets, and straws, most of which are single-use plastics that are transported to the estuary and then trapped in the mangrove ecosystem.

This study chose the Pubmed database (one of the world's leading databases) as the research sample and data source to be used in the bibliometric analysis. The research sample of 143 articles was published following keyword search conditions. To explore and identify key thematic areas as well as emerging topics using keyword co-occurrence analysis. To support the visualization and analysis process of the data obtained, the Vosviewer application is used. The results of this study show that APE for ASD is a research field that still needs development, this is seen from the productivity in publications ranging from 2001 to 2023, whose publication range is still below 85 articles per five years. In the visualization section, the density of high keywords is presented in 5 clusters, namely: (1) disorder; (2) service; (3) quality; (4); student (5) intervention. Bibliometric analysis in the form of mapping this analysis provides conveyance to the public regarding the pattern of publication development in the field of APE for ASD. With these findings, it helping make a multi-year research roadmap. Furthermore, it contributes to further next research, namely such as: 1) The need for holistic research on the dimensions of disorder, service, quality, and student that cluster; and, 2) the need for in-depth research focusing on one or more of the themes that are still rarely studied. such as motor skills, eating, COVID, autistic adult, Emily, home, depression, mother, care, and autistic individual. Background: Indonesian nurses receive training for disasters when they take an undergraduate nursing program at the university, but there have been variations in the curriculum. Moreover, there is still limited informal training available specifically for disaster nursing. Therefore, needs assessments are necessary to identify the gap between Indonesian disaster nurses' existing and expected competencies. This study was conducted to identify competencies needed by disaster nurses. Method: A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study. Data were collected from August to September 2019 from three areas in Indonesia: Yogyakarta, Lombok, and Jakarta. These areas frequently experience natural disasters, such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and floods. Thirty-two nurses were interviewed. Data were analyzed with a descriptive qualitative approach. Results: The study highlighted three main competencies needed by Indonesian nurses, which are physical, psychological, and managerial. Conclusion: Training for disaster nurses needs to balance the achievement of competencies related to physical, psychological, and managerial needs. This research aims to evaluate the water quality status and pollution load-carrying capacity of the Way Umpu River based on land use. This was carried out using the survey method by directly measuring the river water debit, pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen (DO) on-site, taking the water sample to analyze the parameters of water quality such as total dissolved solid (TDS), total suspended solid (TSS), water color, turbidity, salinity, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), fecal coli, total coliform, and plankton in the lab, and monitoring the land use. The results showed that the use of land for illegal mining and the settlement of inhabitants in station-4 (ST-4) caused water pollution. Furthermore, based on Class III water use, the parameters in ST-4 exceeded the standards for TSS, color, and BOD, while other stations such as ST-1, ST-2, ST-3, ST-5, and ST-6 showed clean and good water quality statuses. It was also found that the pollution load-carrying capacity of the Way Umpu River has not yet been exceeded for Class III and the quality of the water may be improved when the river water debit increases. In addition, the plankton community structure on ST-1, ST-2, and ST-3 showed the number of species and individuals, and the diversity index was relatively high compared to ST-4, ST-5, and ST-6. It was concluded that the integrated evaluation was based on water quality status, plankton community structure, and pollution load analyses. With increasing age, there is a decrease in the functions of the degenerative body, including a decrease in the functions of the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiovascular areas, as well as a reduced ability to perform daily activities. One of the declines in musculoskeletal function is a decrease in muscle function which causes muscle fibers to shrink, causing a decrease in strength, muscle mass, and bone mass. This causes dynamic balance disorders in the elderly. To improve and maintain dynamic balance, a combination of tera and Square Stepping exercises is recommended for the elderly. This study aimed to determine whether there is an effect of the combination of tera and Square Stepping exercises on the level of the dynamic balance of the elderly in the elderly community at the Sasana Malang. This study followed a pre-experimental, namely One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test, design. 35 elderly people in the elderly community at Sasana Malang for 4 weeks were studied in this research. Timed Up and Go Test instruments were used. The results discovered that the Shapiro Wilk Test data was normal, Pre-Test was 14.2317 and Post-Test was 11.9480. Paired Sample T Test significance was 0.000, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Objectives In order to reduce infant mortality in Indonesia, community case management (CCM) was introduced. CCM is a community-based service delivery model to improve children's wellness and longevity, involving the delivery of lifesaving, curative interventions to address common childhood illnesses, particularly where there are limited facility-based services. This paper reports the findings of a qualitative study that investigated the implementation of CCM in the Kutai Timur district, East Kalimantan Indonesia from the perspective of mothers who received care. Methods Seven mothers and health workers were observed during a consultation and these mothers were interviewed in their home weeks after delivery. Field notes and the interview transcriptions were analysed thematically. Findings Mothers reported that their access to care had improved, along with an increase in their knowledge of infant danger signs and when to seek care. Family compliance with care plans was also found to have improved. Mothers expressed satisfaction with the care provided under the CCM model. The mothers expressed a need for a nurse or midwife to be posted in each village, preferably someone from that village. However two mothers did not wish their children to receive health interventions as they did not believe these to be culturally appropriate. Conclusion CCM is seen by rural Indonesian mothers to be a helpful model of care in terms of increasing access to health care and the uptake of lifesaving interventions for sick children. However there is a need to modify the program to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and meet cultural needs of the target population.
