Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of a mindfulness-based intervention among college students with externalizing behaviors and attentional problems. Participants: Three students attending their first year in college received mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) intervention and data were collected pre-intervention, during the intervention, post-intervention, and follow-up. Methods: The study utilized a single-case design (SCD). Data were collected via the Conners continuous performance test, Third Edition (CPT-3), the Conners Continuous Auditory Test of Attention (CATA), the Behavioral Assessment Scale for Children, Flex Monitor, Third Edition (BASC-3 FM), and the Mindfulness Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS). Results: Data were analyzed by calculating standard error of the difference, reliable change index, non-overlap of all pairs (NAP), and Tau-U. Conclusions: The results of this study strongly suggest that mindfulness may be an effective intervention for addressing externalizing behaviors and attentional problems among first-year college students.

Exorbitant praxis of nitrogen pioneered and opened up the usage of time-specific and need-based nitrogen management. The leaf color chart (LCC), being one of the handy tool, is put to use for the estimation of the indirect leaf N, and also heightens the competence of crop N administration. Integrating leaf color chart assessments into maize cultivation practices can provide a practical and cost-effective approach for tailoring nitrogen applications, leading to improved resource-use efficiency and sustainable maize production. To perceive the specific leaf color chart (LCC) value for precision maneuvering of nitrogen in different maize hybrids, a field experiment was carried out at the research farm of Division of Agronomy, FoA, Wadura, Sopore, SKUAST-Kashmir, in the years 2019 and 2020 (Kharif seasons). Split Plot Design (SPD) employing three maize varieties (Shalimar Maize Hybrid-2 (SMH-2), Kanchan-517 and Vivek-45) in main plots and precision management of nitrogen (T1: Control, T2: Recommended Nitrogen (120 kg N ha–1), T3: 25% N as basal LCC @20 (≤ 3) kg N ha−1, T4: 25% N as basal LCC @30 (≤ 3) kg N ha−1, T5: 25% N as basal LCC @20 (≤ 4) kg N ha−1, T6: 25% N as basal LCC @30 (≤ 4) kg N ha−1, T7: 25% N as basal LCC @20 (≤ 5) kg N ha−1 and T8: 25% N as basal LCC @30 (≤ 5) kg N ha−1) in sub-plots was systemized. The pooled means indicated that SMH-2 chalked up utmost values in growth (plant height 189.4 cm) and periodic leaf area index and yield parameters with a grain yield of 6.1 t ha–1, straw yield of 10.6 t ha–1, respectively. The LCC value of @ 30 (≤ 5) kg N ha–1 set down statistically highest and significant grain (6.0 t ha–1) and straw yield (10.8 t ha–1) pooled over the years amidst other nitrogen management treatments, respectively. LCC @ 20 (≤ 5) kg N ha–1 turned up to have highest apparent N recovery (REN) followed by LCC @ 30 (≤ 5) kg N ha-1 whereas LCC @ 20 (≤ 4) kg N ha–1 which was at par with LCC @ 20 (≤ 5) kg N ha-1 recorded maximum agronomic efficiency (AE). LCC @ 20 (≤ 3) kg N ha–1 showed the highest physiological efficiency (PE) and partial factor productivity (Pfp). Furthermore, different rice genotypes manifested significant effects vis-à-vis Pfp and REN, which were maximum in SMH-2 contrasted with Kanchan-517 and Vivek-45. In the interim, the economics of pooled data divulged that the maximum B: C ratio was observed in SMH-2 and LCC @ 30 (≤ 5) kg N ha–1. This review consists of life cycle of Cuscuta its impact on main plants and its management techniques. There are various methods (physical, mechanical, chemical and biological) to control the infection of Cuscuta. Furthermore, the Integrated used management IWM of Cuscuta is a superior for productivity of both crops and ecosystems. The IWM has various elements (cultural practices, physical removal, biological control and chemical control). In addition, the impact of allelopathy and the use of genetic engineering stops the proliferation of Cuscuta. The yield and quality of field pea are directly influenced by inoculation of Rhizobium and PSB with NPK, which increase various parameters, such as the yield and quality of field pea. This research was conducted during the Rabi season in 2022-2023 at Lovely Professional University in the Punjab region of India. The yields of pea grain and stover are greatly increased by the use of 100% RDF (the recommended dose of fertilizer) with PSB and Rhizobium. In addition to the combination of Rhizobium, PSB and NPK increased the harvest index of field pea. The protein content and number of nodules were strongly affected by this treatment, which was more beneficial than the other treatments. Overall, the net return was greater in T7 (100% RDF+ PSB + Rhizobium). In addition, in comparison with the other treatments, available nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium also had positive effects on T7. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The structural, magnetotransport, and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) of Ag-doped Bi2Se3 single crystals are presented. Temperature dependent resistivity exhibits metallic behavior with a slope change above 200 K for Ag-doped Bi2Se3. The magnetoresistance shows positive quadratic dependence at low fields satisfying Kohler's rule. Hall resistivity measurement shows that electrons are dominant charge carriers. Furthermore, these results agree well with the ARPES spectra observed at T = 20 K, where the Fermi level lies inside the bulk conduction band. The Dirac point of the topological surface states is shifted toward higher binding energy (∼0.12 eV) for Ag-doped samples as compared to pristine Bi2Se3. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lead at any levels can result in detrimental health effects affecting various organ systems. These systematic manifestations under Pb exposure and the underlying probable pathophysiological mechanisms have not been elucidated completely. With advancements in molecular research under Pb exposure, epigenetics is one of the emerging field that has opened many possibilities for appreciating the role of Pb exposure in modulating gene expression profiles. In terms of epigenetic alterations reported in Pb toxicity, DNA methylation, and microRNA alterations are extensively explored in both experimental and epidemiological studies, however, the understanding of histone modifications under Pb exposure is still in its infant stage limited to experimental models. In this review, we aim to present a synoptic view of histone modifications explored in relation to Pb exposure attempting to bring out this potential lacunae in research. The scarcity of studies associating histone modifications with Pb toxicity, and the paucity of their validation in human cohort further emphasizes the strong research potential of this field.
