The paper analyses research output of the journal IJIDT using bibliometric approach for five years from 2011 to 2015. The journal publishes 259 research papers during the study period and published papers were examined and analyzed for distribution of articles, authorship pattern, the degree of collaboration, and geographical distribution of articles etc. Conclusions have been drawn from the analysis and found that two authorship patterns are prevalent with 0.63 Degree of Collaboration, India as the top most contributor of the articles for the journal and amongst foreign countries, Saudi Arabia is the highest contributor. Karnataka is the highest contributor amongst the Indian States and Union Territories. Journal Articles were found the most prevalent source of information for writing research papers and used as a citation. Calculated half-life of the journal citations found to be 8 years. The purpose of study is to measure the coverage of LIS academia in Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic using scientometric indicators. The study is based on simple search queries in Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic for each LIS faculty whose information is available on their university website. Duplicate names for LIS faculties have been filtered by adding the extra search string with their names and non-LIS publications have been removed from the study. The study found more coverage for Google Scholar than Microsoft Academic. Google Scholar based "document types" are quite unclear and considered as its' limitations. The study is limited to 26 LIS faculties from five Central Universities of North-East India. The results are limited due to use of simple search in Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic rather than profile search. The study analyzed papers published in CALIBER conventions held during 2008-2015. The study analyzed themes & subthemes, authorship patterns, the Degree of Collaboration, state-wise geographical distribution, country-wise geographical distribution, references per article, forms of documents and top-cited journals. There are 319 papers analyzed and found that traditional and simple themes and sub-themes have more number of papers than others, prevalent multiple authorship patterns with the strong Degree of Collaboration, Karnataka as the top contributing State and India as the top contributing country, more than 11 references per article, Journal papers as the prevalent form of documents, and "Electronic Library" as the highly cited journal in the study. Study analyses scientometric assessment of LIS research performance of OPEC member countries. The research publication data indexed in Scopus for the OPEC member countries were extracted and used for the analysis. The data are analyzed to identify quantitative research performance of OPEC member countries in terms of total documents, citable documents, and non-citable documents. The citation impact is measured by different parameters, like total citations, citations per document, Relative Citation Impact, self-citations, and self-citations per document. Finally, the quality of the document is assessed by means of h-index. Nigeria has been found to be most productive country in LIS research and Iran is receiving highest citations and also in h-index performance amongst OPEC member countries. Iraq, Libya, and Ecuador are far away in LIS research productivity and needs strong steps to improve LIS research productivity for future endeavor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Scientometric assessment of the performance of scholarly communications of Mizoram University in world scenario. Methods: The ten years of scholarly communications have been retrieved from Web of Science for Mizoram University. The study analyses the scholarly communications, citations data, hindex, prolific contributors, forms of scholarly communications, funding agencies, highly cited scholarly communications, top areas of scholarly communications, authorship patterns and degree of collaboration. Results: Physics and Chemistry subjects found the highest productive area of scholarly communications, multiple authorship is prevalent with high degree of collaboration among authors, Department of Science and Technology (DST) as the topmost funding agency, South Korea found the strong collaborative country with Mizoram University in academic research, "Tiwari D" as the highest cited author, "Thapa RK" as the highest productive author, and increased growth in number of scholarly communications as well as citations. Contributions: The study analyzed the scholarly communications in terms of scientometric assessment and presented the current scenario of Mizoram University's scholarly communications at the world level based on WoS database. It gives the insight to understand the situation of scholarly communications and make the future course of action accordingly. Study analyses information seeking behaviour of post graduate students of School of Life Sciences of Mizoram University, Aizawl. The research data collected from 60 post graduate students; tabulated and analyzed using MS-Excel. The data are analyzed to identify the information needs and use of the students and determine the adequacy of the library resources and services. Analysis of the questionnaires inference that students' visit to the library is need based. Rich collection increases library users but time constraints and isolated library location reduce the number of library visitors and frequency of visits. The study examines the number of backlinks to the websites of libraries belonging to Central Universities of India. The study has presented seven categories of library webpages based on their features. The study was conducted in five rounds to get the primary data through four selected search engines. Analysis is presented for each search engine separately. Study concludes that index page/home page of library websites attracts more number of backlinks than any other webpages of library websites. Examines status of content on websites of librariesâ€(tm) belonging to Indian academic institutions. Establishes a method to measure Overall Website Performance Calculation (OWPC) and Criteria-wise Website Performance Calculation (CWPC) of library websites. Comparative study of 20 central universities and 19 institutes of national importance including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) academic libraries from India suggest that the library websites of institutes of national importance have better content awareness than central university library websites as per the identified criteria.
