Socioecological systems (SSE) of paramo and high Andean forest in Colombia are ecological systems that are characterized by their particularities of structure, composition and functioning. These spaces have been developed as part of historical processes and relationship between humans and nature. These relations have determined their actual status. In this article we analyze the government's perspectives and postures around environmental sustainability, institutions and territorial planning that are used to govern and decide on important matters as the territory and its interaction with SSEs.
