The Middle Jurassic Walloon Subgroup of Daandine gas field contains numerous coal seams with abundant coalbed methane (CBM) resources. However, the vertical gas content distribution of these coal seams is unclear currently, as well as its influencing factors, affecting the formulation of CBM exploration and exploitation strategy. For this purpose, using diverse geologic, experimental, and engineering data from recent exploration and development, this article ascertains the vertical coalbed gas content distribution in the Daandine gas field and discusses how the geological factors affect it. The results show that the coalbed gas contents have two basic trends as the depth increases: (1) increase, and then decrease; (2) increase. The former trend is dominant, and the inflection point occurs in the coal groups within or close to the Tangalooma Sandstone Formation. The correlation analysis shows that the macerals have little influence on the vertical coalbed gas content distribution. The moisture contents affect the adsorption capacity of coalbeds and show a negative correlation with the gas contents, and coal groups with higher moisture contents generally have lower gas contents. Three sets of independent gas-bearing systems exist in the Walloon Subgroup, and the coalbed gas content-depth relationship is relatively independent among different gas-bearing systems. The better the caprock condition, the higher the gas content, which is particularly evident in the coals of Condamine group. The permeabilities show a significant effect on the coalbed gas contents of Daandine coals. The coal groups within or close to the Tangalooma Sandstone Formation have higher permeabilities, as well as higher gas contents, and they are positively correlated. The reason is that the CBM in the study area is dominantly microbial in origin, and the higher permeability coals are conducive to the introduction of more microbial consortia into the coal seams, enhancing the generation of secondary biogenesis methane. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the common complications during pregnancy. Numerous studies have shown that GDM is associated with a series of adverse effects on both mothers and offspring. Due to the particularity of pregnancy, medical nutrition treatment is considered to be the first choice for the treatment of GDM. This contribution reviews the research progress of medical nutrition treatment in GDM, summarizes the international recommendations on the intake of various nutrients and the influence of nutrients on the prevalence of GDM, and the improvement effect of nutritional intervention on it, in order to provide references for research in related fields of GDM and the targeted development of enteral nutrition. Natural pyrethrins (NPs), one kind of bio-pesticide, have been widely used in organic agriculture and ecological environment studies. Studies have shown that NPs may affect the metabolism of rat liver and human hepatocytes; nevertheless, the toxic effects of NPs on the liver and the related mechanisms are still incompletely understood. In this research, we utilized three types of human liver cells to investigate the mechanism of NPs' induction of oxidative stress. The results showed that NPs exhibit noteworthy cytotoxic effects on human liver cells. These effects are characterized by the induction of LDH release, mitochondrial collapse, and an increased production of ROS and MDA content, subsequently activating the Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1/Nuclear factor erythroid 2- related factor 2 (Keap1/Nrf-2) pathway. The ROS inhibitor N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) can alleviate ROS/Nrf2-mediated oxidative stress. In addition, the siRNA knockdown of Nrf-2 exacerbated the injury, including ROS production, and inhibited cell viability. In summary, the ROS-mediated Keap1/Nrf-2 pathway could be an important regulator of NP-induced damage in human liver cells, which further illustrates the hepatotoxicity of NPs and thereby contributes to the scientific basis for further exploration. Liver fibrosis poses a significant global health risk due to its association with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the lack of effective treatments. Thus, the need to discover additional novel therapeutic targets to attenuate liver diseases is urgent. Leucine-rich repeat containing 1 (LRRC1) reportedly promotes HCC development. Previously, we found that LRRC1 was significantly upregulated in rat fibrotic liver according to the transcriptome sequencing data. Herein, in the current work, we aimed to explore the role of LRRC1 in liver fibrosis and the underlying mechanisms involved. LRRC1 expression was positively correlated with liver fibrosis severity and significantly elevated in both human and murine fibrotic liver tissues. LRRC1 knockdown or overexpression inhibited or enhanced the proliferation, migration, and expression of fibrogenic genes in the human hepatic stellate cell line LX-2. More importantly, LRRC1 inhibition in vivo significantly alleviated CCl4-induced liver fibrosis by reducing collagen accumulation and hepatic stellate cells' (HSCs) activation in mice. Mechanistically, LRRC1 promoted HSC activation and liver fibrogenesis by preventing the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of phosphorylated mothers against decapentaplegic homolog (Smad) 2/3 (p-Smad2/3), thereby activating the TGF-β1/Smad pathway. Collectively, these results clarify a novel role for LRRC1 as a regulator of liver fibrosis and indicate that LRRC1 is a promising target for antifibrotic therapies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, polydopamine and silver-modified graphene oxide (Ag/PGO) were prepared using a one-step method, and the effects of Ag/PGO as a lubricating oil additive on the viscosity, thermal conductivity, and lubricating performance of lubricating oil were studied. The influence of additive lubricating oil on the temperature increase and vibration of a high-speed motorized spindle was studied through a motorized spindle experiment. The results showed that the addition of Ag/PGO nanocomposites could improve the thermophysical properties and lubricating properties of the lubricating oil. The Ag/PGO nanoparticles deposited on the friction surface formed a friction protective film, which prevented direct contact between the friction pairs and effectively reduced the heat generated through friction and micro-peak collision during bearing operation. The lubricating oil containing Ag/PGO had high thermal conductivity and a good heat dissipation effect in convection heat transfer in the bearing cavity. The deposition and repair of nanoparticles could improve the micro-morphology of the friction surface and reduce the high-frequency amplitude of the motorized spindle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Value management (VM) and risk management (RM) both involve systematic team decision-making methodologies, but they are often used separately by construction professionals in real practices for different purposes. VM emphases the best project value, while RM is expected to minimize the project risks. The major difference between the two methodologies may lie in the function analysis phase of VM for identifying key functions of projects, and the risk analysis of RM for risk identification. Due to the complementary nature of the techniques involved in both forms of management, the integration of VM and RM has been advocated by scholars for about three decades to optimize the final outcome within limited time and resources. However, little attention has been paid to establishing the complex relationships between value-risk management (VRM) techniques and their outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to find an effective way to integrate VM and RM for enhancing final outcomes. A questionnaire survey was conducted to construction professionals with experience in VM and/or RM. Through various statistical analyses, including factor analysis, correlation, and multiple regression analysis, the findings indicate that (1) information and creativity techniques aided development techniques significantly; (2) presentation techniques are determined by information and function analysis techniques; (3) information techniques, risk analysis techniques, and development techniques enhance team and project performance in VRM workshops; and (4) function analysis techniques, risk analysis techniques, and development techniques can improve overall satisfaction on construction projects. To ensure risk minimization and value maximization in construction projects, VRM workshops should be harnessed and undertaken systematically and logically. Practical recommendations regarding sufficient information and discussion time for VRM participants are given to ensure stakeholders gain the comprehensive understanding of the peculiarity of the project at hand necessary to propel creative ideas and achieve the objectives of the workshop. In the real construction industry, it is time consuming and costly for project practitioners to conduct value management for enhancing project value and risk management to minimize impending risks separately. In this research, value management and risk management techniques were integrated in team decision-making process (value-risk management process) to help project practitioners make the best decisions with fewer risks logically for achieving the best project value. For enhancing final outcomes such as reducing project cost, facilitating team cooperation, and improving overall satisfaction, several practical recommendations are proposed for project practitioners to conduct the value-risk management process effectively: for example, allocating sufficient time for VRM practitioners to share and review information and identify possible risks, conducting function analysis training to the VRM practitioners, using risk analysis software during the VRM process, and requiring VRM practitioners work together to develop a comprehensive final report. The VRM participants need to use function analysis techniques to identify the key functions for value enhancement. The VRM workshop facilitator must be competent in all the techniques for applications on the project. In addition, the report should contain sufficient justifications such as calculations, possible cost-saving, advantages, and disadvantages of final ideas agreed upon by the VRM participants. Objective To investigate the hemostatic effect of transanal prostatic resectoscope technology on massive rectal bleeding after transrectal prostate biopsy. Methods From May 2016 to March 2022, 483 patients underwent transrectal prostate biopsy, 5 patients of them had hemodynamic deterioration due to massive rectal bleeding within 3 to 8 hours after operation. After active rehydration and blood transfusion, transanal prostatic resectoscope technology was applied to check the biopsy region and coagulate the active bleeding point. After hemostasis, the anal tube was retained for drainage for 24 to 72 hours and then removed. Results The average bleeding volume was about 440 mL (400 mL -1 000 mL) ; Average blood transfusion volume; RBC 2. 0 U/case, homoplasma 520 mL/case; The average operation time was 25 minutes (20-30 minutes) ; Rebleeding, local infection, hyponatremia and hypokalemia was not observed; The mean hospital stay was 4. 5 days (3-7 days) . Conclusion Transanal prostatic resectoscope technology is an effective method for rapid control of massive rectal bleeding after transrectal prostate biopsy.
