Abstract In various fields of mathematical research, the Brouwer degree is a potent tool for topological analysis. By using the Brouwer degree defined in one-dimensional space, we interpret the equation of state for temperature in black hole thermodynamics, $$T=T(V,x_i)$$ T = T ( V , x i ) , as a spinodal curve, with its derivative defining a new function f. The sign of the slope of f indicates the topological charge of the black hole’s critical points, and the total topological charge can be deduced from the asymptotic behavior of the function f. We analyze a spherical hairy black hole within the framework of Lovelock gravity, paying particular attention to the topological structure of black hole thermodynamics under Gauss–Bonnet gravity. Here, the sign of the scalar hair parameter influences the topological classification of uncharged black holes. When exploring the thermodynamic topological properties of hairy black holes under cubic Lovelock gravity, we find that the spherical hairy black hole reproduces the thermodynamic topological classification results seen under Gauss–Bonnet gravity.

Abstract Crowdfunding has become important in increasing financial support for the development of green technologies. Self-disclosed information significantly affects supporters’ decisions and is important for the success of green project funding. However, current studies still lack investigations into the impact of information disclosure on green crowdfunding performance. This research aims to fill this knowledge gap by exploring eight information disclosure-relevant factors in green crowdfunding performance. Applying machine learning techniques (e.g., Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision) and logistic regression, this study investigates 720 green crowdfunding campaigns on GoFundMe and empirically finds that the duration, length of campaign introductions, and length of the title influence fundraising outcomes. However, no evidence supports the impact of goal size, emotion of campaign introduction, or image content on funding success. This study clarifies the information disclosure-related data that green crowdfunding campaigns should consider and provides founders with a constructive guide to smoothly raise money for a green crowdfunding campaign. This study also contributes to data processing methods by providing future studies with an approach for transferring unstructured data to structured data.

The die-casting process of ADC12 aluminum alloy right crankcase cover was simulated based on AnyCasting software, and the influence of pouring temperature, initial mold temperature and injection speed on the filling and solidification process of ADC12 right crankcase cover casting was explored by orthogonal experiment method. The optimal process parameters were obtained through optimization, and the die-casting mold was designed. The program was verified in production. The results show that the porosity and shrinkage of the right crankcase cover are mainly concentrated in the thick wall part. The sequence of process parameters that affect the residual melt modulus is pouring temperature, initial mold temperature, and injection speed; The best combination of process parameters: pouring temperature is ∼680 °C, initial mold temperature is ∼200 °C, injection speed is ∼5 m/s. By analyzing the filling process and temperature field simulation results, the casting structure, mold structure and cooling system were optimized, and the process plan was improved. The production verification was carried out according to the optimized process plan. The casting quality is good and has no obvious defects, which meets the actual production needs.

Abstract With the advancements in ocular biometric technology, there have been significant improvements in accurately and efficiently measuring ocular parameters. The aim of this study is to compare the reliability of biometric parameters obtained using a new frequency-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) biometer with the measurements obtained from swept-source OCT (SS-OCT) and optical low coherence reflectometry (OLCR) biometers. This study employed an observational cross-sectional design. Measurements of axial length (AL), flat and steep corneal keratometry (K1 and K2), and central corneal thickness (CCT) obtained using the The Colombo IOL were compared with those obtained with the IOLMaster 700 and SW-9000 devices. The agreement were evaluated using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland–Altman analyses. The differences of the measurements of the three increments were assessed by one-way ANONA. 73 right eyes of 73 healthy pediatric subjects were analyzed. The AL difference measured by Colombo IOL compared with IOLmaster700 and SW-9000 were 0.00 ± 0.02 mm and − 0.07 ± 0.05 mm, respectively (P > 0.05, ANOVA). There was no statistically significant difference in CCT, K1, and K2 among the three instruments (all P > 0.05, ANOVA). The ICC values for AL, K1, K2, and CCT were 0.999, 0.996, 0.995, and 0.998, respectively. The Bland-Altman analysis showed an agreement of AL, K1, K2, and CCT with Colombo IOL and IOLMaster 700 spanned over 0.08 mm, 0.71D, 0.69D, and 12.17 μm, respectively. The agreement of AL, K1, K2, and CCT with Colombo IOL and SW-9000 spanned approximate 0.21 mm, 0.75D, 1.06D, and 14.37 μm, respectively. The new SD-OCT biometer and the SS-OCT biometer showed strong agreement in measuring AL and CCT in healthy pediatric subjects. This supports the reliability of the new SD-OCT biometer as an alternative for assessing these parameters. However, K1 and K2 could not be used interchangeably in clinical practice. Two new spider species of the genus Trachelas L. Koch, 1872 are described from China: Trachelas kavanaughi sp. nov. (♀) and Trachelas ventriosus sp. nov. (♀). The male of Trachelas gaoligongensis Jin, Yin & Zhang, 2017 is described for the first time. Illustrations of the body and copulatory organs and a distribution map are provided.

Abstract Melanoma-associated antigen A6 (MAGEA6) is well known to have oncogenic activity, but the underlying mechanisms by which it regulates tumor progression and chemo-resistance, especially in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), have been unknown. In the study, the differential expression genes (DEGs) in TNBC tumor tissues and TNBC-resistant tumor tissues were analyzed based on TCGA and GEO datasets. MAGEA6, as the most significantly expressed gene, was analyzed by RT-qPCR, western blotting and immunohistochemistry assay in TNBC cell lines and tumor tissues. The potential mechanisms that influence chemo-resistance were also evaluated. Results displayed that MAGEA6 was highly expressed in TNBC and involved in drug resistance. MAGEA6 silencing enhanced the chemo-sensitivity of TNBC to doxorubicin (DOX) in vitro and in vivo, as determined by decreasing IC50 value, proliferation and invasion capacity, and triggering apoptosis. Mechanistically, it was shown that MAGEA6 depletion sensitized TNBC to DOX via regulating autophagy. Ubiquitination assay displayed that knockdown of MAGEA6 decreased the AMPKα1 ubiquitination, thereby elevating the levels of AMPKα1 and p-AMPKα in TNBC cells. Importantly, AMPK inhibitor (Compound C) can reduce the LC3II/I level induced by sh-MAGEA6, indicating that sh-MAGEA6 activated AMPK signaling through suppressing AMPKα1 ubiquitination and then facilitated autophagy in TNBC. Furthermore, we also observed that AMPK is required for SLC7A11 to regulate ferroptosis, and supported the crux roles of MAGEA6/AMPK/SLC7A11-mediated ferroptosis on modulating DOX sensitivity in TNBC cells. These findings indicated that targeting MAGEA6 can enhance the chemo-sensitivity in TNBC via activation of autophagy and ferroptosis; its mechanism involves AMPKα1-dependent autophagy and AMPKα1/SLC7A11-induced ferroptosis.

Abstract Within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD), we calculate the fragmentation function for a charm quark into an S-wave fully-charmed tetraquark, denoted as T 4c . The charm-to-T 4c fragmentation function is expressed as a sum of products of the perturbatively calculable short-distance coefficients and the nonperturbative long-distance matrix elements (LDMEs). The short-distance coefficients are ascertained through the perturbative matching procedure at lowest order in α s expansion. The LDMEs are approximated using the T 4c four-body wave functions at the origin, which have been evaluated by various phenomenological potential models in literature. Incorporating the celebrated QCD factorization and the charm-to-T 4c fragmentation function, we predict the T 4c production rate at high transverse momentum p T regime in colliders. Both the differential distribution over p T and the integrated cross sections are predicted at the LHC. The cross sections for T 4c states production can reach several femtobarns to several hundreds femtobarns, suggesting a substantial potential for T 4c event production at the LHC. Additionally, we estimate for the photoproduction of T 4c in electron-proton (ep) collisions. It is observed that the cross sections for these processes are moderate at the HERA and EIC, and relatively small at the EicC. Given the luminosities of these colliders, the prospect of detecting these fully-charmed tetraquarks at ep colliders is somewhat challenging.

Abstract Patients carrying mutations in polymerase epsilon/polymerase delta have shown positive responses to immune checkpoint inhibitors. Yet, prospective trials exploring the efficacy in those with polymerase epsilon/polymerase delta mutations are still lacking. A phase II clinical trial was initiated to evaluate the efficacy of toripalimab, a humanized IgG4K monoclonal antibody to human PD-1, in patients with advanced solid tumors with unselected polymerase epsilon/polymerase delta mutations but without microsatellite instability-high. A total of 15 patients were enrolled, 14 of whom were assessed for treatment efficacy. There was a 21.4% overall response rate, with a disease control rate of 57.1%. The median overall survival and median progression-free survival were 17.9 (95% CI 13.5-not reach) months and 2.5 (95% CI 1.4-not reach) months, respectively. For patients with exonuclease domain mutations, the objective response rate was 66.7% (2/3), with a disease control rate of 66.7% (2/3). For those with non-exonuclease domain mutations, the rates were 9.1% (1/11) and 54.5% (6/11), respectively. Notably, patients with PBRM1 gene mutations exhibited a high response rate to toripalimab at 75.0% (3/4). This study showed that neither the exonuclease domain mutations nor non-exonuclease domain mutations could fully predict the efficacy of immunotherapy, urging the need for more investigations to clarify potential immune sensitization differences within polymerase epsilon/polymerase delta mutation variants.

Abstract Variations at the event horizon structure of a black hole will emit the signals of the gravitational wave echoes associated with the ringdown of the binary black hole merger. In this work, combining mass model of M87 and Einasto profile for dark matter halo, we construct one formal solution of black holes in dark matter halo, and this solution includes the regular black hole for geometric parameter $$a < 2M$$ a < 2 M and the wormhole for $$a \ge 2M$$ a ≥ 2 M . Then, we test this solution under axial gravitational perturbation and calculate their quasinormal modes (QNM). Our results show that when geometric parameter $$a>2M$$ a > 2 M , a series of gravitational wave echoes appear after the QNM, and one distinctive feature of gravitational wave echoes is the double barrier. Besides, we also study the impacts of shape parameters $$\alpha $$ α of Einasto profile both on the QNM and gravitational wave echoes, and extract their frequencies using WKB method and Prony method. In principle, with the increasing of shape parameter $$\alpha $$ α , the frequencies of the QNM and gravitational wave echoes between the different shape parameters must be different. But now there is zero difference of the frequencies between shape parameter $$\alpha =0.18$$ α = 0.18 and $$\alpha =0.20$$ α = 0.20 . Zero difference is not allowed, so we give an upper limit for shape parameter $$\alpha $$ α , which is approximately $$\alpha

Abstract Dark matter density can be significantly enhanced by the supermassive black hole at the galactic center, leading to a structure called dark matter spike. Dark matter spike may change the spacetime properties of black holes that constitute deviations from GR black holes. Based on these interesting background, we construct a set of solutions of black holes in a dark matter spike under the Newtonian approximation and full relativity. Combining the mass model of M87, we study the quasinormal modes of black holes in the scalar field and axial gravitational perturbation, then compared them with Schwarzschild black hole. Besides, the impacts of dark matter on the quasinormal mode of black holes have been studied in depth. In particular, in the axial gravitational perturbation, our results show that the impacts of dark matter spike on the quasinormal mode of black holes can reach up to $$10^{-4}$$ 10 - 4 . These new features from quasinormal mode of black holes under the Newtonian approximation and full relativity may provide some help for the establishment of the final dark matter model, and provide a new thought for the indirect detection of dark matter.

BackgroundFluoroquinolones are broad-spectrum antibiotics with significant antimicrobial activity. Despite their therapeutic benefits, they are associated with a range of adverse drug reactions (ADRs), particularly those affecting the central nervous system (CNS). This study aimed to analyze the psychiatric ADRs linked to fluoroquinolones using data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database.MethodsA retrospective pharmacovigilance study was conducted using FAERS data from Q1 2004 to Q4 2023. The data processing phase involved the FDA-recommended deduplication method, and ADRs were classified according to Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA). Disproportionality analysis was performed using the reporting odds ratio (ROR), and statistical significance was assessed using the Chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test.ResultsThe study identified 84,777 reports associated with fluoroquinolones, with 359,480 Preferred Terms-annotated entries, 27,816 of these reports were psychiatric ADRs. Mood disorders were the most frequently reported, including anxiety, depression, and delirium, with some reports escalating to suicidal ideation and behaviors. The Standardized MedDRA Query classification system was used to categorize these ADRs into Depression, Suicide/self-injury, Psychosis and psychotic disorders, and Non-infectious encephalopathy/delirium. Ciprofloxacin was most frequently linked to depression and suicidal ideation, while moxifloxacin showed a robust correlation with delirium. The risk of psychiatric ADRs varied by age group, with affective disorders more prevalent in adults under 65 and psychosis and delirium in those over 65.ConclusionFluoroquinolones are associated with a range of psychiatric ADRs, with notable differences between the drugs in the class. The study highlights the need for caution in prescribing fluoroquinolones, particularly for patients with pre-existing mental health conditions or those in higher risk age groups. The findings also underscore the importance of considering age-specific preventive strategies when administering these antibiotics.

ObjectivesSubjective cognitive decline (SCD) as a stage between healthy cognition and early neurocognitive disorders, has been proposed to be helpful in the diagnosis of prodromal neurocognitive disorders. To investigate the prevalence of SCD and the related risk factors on the prevalence.MethodsA cross-sectional study involving 1,120 elderly subjects residing in Baotou, China. From June 2021 to June 2023, the data were gathered by research assistants with training utilizing standardized questionnaires. The following factors were evaluated: subjective cognitive decline, physical and cognitive activity levels, past medical history, demographics, instrumental activities of daily living, and cognitive function. Risk factors of SCD were used chi-square tests and multivariate logistic regression analysis.ResultsThe prevalence of SCD was 43.8%.
