Abstract

AbstractOrder-of-addition experiment is a kind of experiment that considers the addition order of m components. Finding an effective design is crucial since the full design consisting of $m!$ permutations is unaffordable even for computer simulation. Several classes of designs have been proposed for certain models in recent years, but they may be singular under other models. In this article, we propose a robust design called maximin distance component orthogonal array whose minimum pairwise distance is maximized while the balance of any two columns from a component orthogonal array still holds. A genetic algorithm is used to search for such designs. The design, with excellent space-filling property, is robust since it is D-optimal under the component-position model and performs well under other models. A case study and an application show the good performance of the proposed design compared to the existing two classes of designs across many situations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The escalating incidence of breast cancer (BC) in women underscores its grave health threat. Current molecular insights into BC's post-adjuvant therapy cure remain elusive, necessitating active treatment explorations. Immunotherapy, notably chemotherapy-induced immunogenic cell death (ICD), has emerged as a promising BC therapy. ICD harnesses chemotherapeutics to activate anti-tumor immunity via DAMPs, fostering long-term T-cell memory and primary BC cure. Besides chemotherapy drugs, Nanodrugs, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and ICIs also induce ICD, boosting immune response. ICIs, like PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors, revolutionize cancer treatment but face limited success in cold tumors. Thus, ICD induction combined with ICIs is studied extensively for BC immunotherapy. This article reviews the mechanism of ICD related drugs in BC and provides reference for the research and development of BC treatment, in order to explore more effective clinical treatment of BC, we hope to explore more ICD inducers and make ICIs more effective vaccines. Abstract

This article discusses the formation of fistulas in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN), a type of pancreatic tumor. The study found that fistula formation is more common in patients with a longer disease course and in those with main-duct or mixed IPMN. The most frequently involved organs in fistula formation are the stomach, bile duct, and duodenum. While fistula formation is not a surgical indication for IPMN, it should be considered based on the patient's overall condition and clinical symptoms. The article concludes by stating that the 5-year survival rates for IPMN with fistula formation are difficult to determine due to limited sample sizes and varied follow-up durations. 40. Leakage Diffusion Modeling of Key Nodes of Gas Pipeline Network Based on Leakage Concentration.

Abstract

In order to achieve the prediction and early warning of city gas pipe network leakage accidents, as well as to provide rapid and precise support for emergency response to such accidents, this study focuses on a Gaussian diffusion model applied to a large urban gas pipeline network. Specifically, it investigates the gas gate wells, which are key nodes in the pipeline network, to develop a leakage model. The objective is to analyze the variation in internal gas concentration in the gate wells and determine the range of danger posed by external gas diffusion from the gate wells. In addition, Fluent simulation is utilized to compare the accuracy of the model's calculations. The findings of this study indicate that the gas concentration inside the gate well, as predicted by the model fitting results and Fluent simulation, exhibit a high level of agreement, with coefficient of determination (R2) values exceeding 0.99. Moreover, when predicting the hazardous distance of gas leakage outside the gate well, the model's results show an average relative error of 0.15 compared to the Fluent simulation results. Abstract

Background: The aims of this study were to evaluate the feasibility of allergy test dosage of fluorescein sodium (1%) for Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) detection in Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) examination as compared to the regular dosage (20%). Methods: Totally 77 eyes from 42 DR patients were included in this prospective study. Capillary non-perfusion area, neovascularization, diabetic macular edema and microaneurysms were measured by FFA and compared at 1, 5 and 15 min after intravenous injection of 1% or 20% fluorescein sodium. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in the proportions of capillary non-perfusion area and diabetic macular edema as well as the amount of neovascularization between the 1% and 20% fluorescein sodium groups. Yet, the 1% group had a significantly a smaller number of microaneurysms than the 20% group at 1 min (p < 0.001) and a smaller number of eyes with diabetic macular edema than the 20% group at 5 (p = 0.032) and 15 min (p = 0.015). The images from patients with clear vitreous had better quality than the images from patients with vitreous opacity (all p < 0.05, except comparison on neovascularization at 5 min: p > 0.999). All examined indexes showed high correlations between the 1% and 20% groups (r > 0.8, p < 0.001). Abstract

A novel superatom-assembled Zr12O12 nanocage has been theoretically designed and characterized to investigate its potential application as a novel delivery carrier for 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu), mercaptopurine (MP), and thioguanine (TG) via density functional theory calculations in this work. The designed Zr12O12 nanocage possesses high stability in view of its large binding energy (E b), atomic cohesion energy (E col), and highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital gap. Our results reveal that Zr12O12 tends to bind with 5-Fu via a single Zr–O bond and combine with MP and TG through multidentate chelate modes with the adsorption energies of −22.27 to −55.19 kcal mol−1. The Wiberg bond index, atoms in molecules theory, and localized molecular orbitals analyses demonstrate that all the newly formed linkage bonds between Zr12O12 and drugs are polar covalent bonds. In particular, among these studied drugs, the recovery time for the near-infrared light-triggered release of TG drug from Zr12O12 surface is the shortest, indicating that Zr12O12 can serve as an excellent candidate for the delivery of TG.
