Abstract

Comprehensive Summary: A label‐free deoxyribozyme (DNAzyme) biosensor for m6A demethylase activity detection is developed. When demethylase FTO (Fat mass and obesity‐associated protein), an important m6A demethylase of ALKBH demethylase family is present, the m6A group is specifically demethylated, and the cleavage activity of DNAzyme is restored. This allows the cleavage product that contains G‐quadruplex sequence to bind to thioflavin T (ThT) and generate fluorescence signals. The biosensor shows high specificity and sensitivity, and fast reaction speed. Our study demonstrates a new design of allosteric DNAzyme for sensing. This method represents the first label‐free nucleic acid biosensor for FTO assay, providing a feasible route towards inhibitors screening. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A Gw-level high-power CO2 laser system has been developed. A short laser pulse is cut out with a double Pockels cell electrooptical shutter from a hybrid CO2 laser oscillator and amplified with a three-stage dual-path TEA preamplifier, a two-stage TEA preamplifier, a large aperture TEA amplifier, and an electron beam-controlled final amplifier. All parts of the laser system are controlled with a control system. The laser output power is up to 3.2 × 109 W and laser pulse width is 4 ns full width at half maximum.

9. A novel contrast enhancement algorithm in IR imaging systems

Abstract

The contrast enhancement of infrared image is useful and important to the infrared image system. The current techniques of local enhancing exists either over-enhancing or high complexity problems. In this paper, we propose a novel contrast enhancement algorithm which combines histogram equalization based methods (HEBM) and an improved unsharp masking based methods (UMBM). This proposed algorithm uses HEBM to achieve global contrast enhancement and UMBM to achieve local contrast enhancement. Some elaborate strategies are applied to the algorithm to avoid the overenhancement and magnification of noise when contrast is enhanced. The article is organized as follows. First, we review the techniques developed in the literature for contrast enhancement. After then, we introduce the new algorithm in details. The performance of the proposed method is studied on experimental IR data and compared with those yielded by two well established algorithms. The developed algorithm has good performance in global contrast and local contrast enhancement with noise and artifact suppression.
