AIM: To observe the changes of serum Adropin protein(AD)and neprilysin(NEP)levels in patients with diabetic retinopathy and to analyse the influencing factors. METHODS: A total of 167 patients with type 2 diabetes were enrolled in this study. They were divided into simple type 2 diabetes group(DM group)with 59 cases and type 2 diabetic retinopathy group(DR group)with 108 cases. Furthermore, the DR group included patients in two periods of non-proliferation diabetic retinopathy(NPDR group)and proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR group). There were 45 patients in NPDR group and 63 patients in PDR group, meanwhile, another 57 healthy subjects were selected as the normal control group(NC group). Measuring the hight and weight and calculating body mass index(BMI). Indices of fasting plasma glucose(FPG), systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), total cholesterol(TC), triacylglycerol(TG), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST)hemoglobin Alc(HbA1c)were be detected, while levels of serum adropin protein(AD)and neprilysin(NEP)were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The correlation between AD, NEP and other indicators was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis. The independent influence factors of both were analyzed by multiple linear regression. RESULTS: Compared with the NC group, the AD level in the DM group, NPDR group, and PDR group decreased gradually, with the lowest level in the PDR group(PPCONCLUSION: In patients with diabetic retinopathy, AD level would be decreased with the progression of DR, and NEP level would be gradually increased, both of which may be involved in the development of DR.

The study investigated the changes of lipid metabolism histology in rats under the three groups of dietary modifications after dietary intervention in (Sprague-Dawley, SD) SD rats using lotus seed reconstituted rice, ordinary rice, and high-fat feed made from lotus seed starch-rice flour after extrusion and puffing. It was found that the high-fat feed could lead to the disorder of lipid metabolism in rats, and the accumulation of lipid metabolism substances caused by the high-fat feed was significantly increased; the intervention of ordinary rice and high-dose reconstituted rice revealed that the high-dose reconstituted rice could improve the disorder of lipid metabolism and the accumulation of lipid substances caused by the high-fat feed to a greater extent. The main lipid substances were PC, TAG, Cer, CE, SM, PE, LPC, Acar, DAG, FAHFA, OxPI, PI, SQDG, Cer/NS, GlcADG, HBMP, Cer/NDS, HexCer/NS, etc., and the study confirmed that the reconstituted rice made from lotus seeds in this experiment was better than ordinary rice, and the high-dose reconstituted rice obtained from the study has a better modulating effect on lipid metabolism disorders and organism damage caused by high-fat feed.

The title complex, [Cd(Paba)2]·2H2O or [Cd(C12H9N2O3S)2]·2H2O, was synthesized by the reaction of the potassium salt of 2-(2-pyridylmethyleneamino)benzenesulfonic acid (PabaK) with CdCl2·2.5H2O in methanol. The CdII atom lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms from two deprotonated tridentate 2-(2-pyridylmethyleneamino)benzenesulfonate ligands in a slightly distorted octahedral environment. There are extensive hydrogen bonds of the type O—H...O between the uncoordinated water molecules and the sulfonate O atoms, through which the complex forms a layered structure parallel to (001).

Text mining deals with complex and unstructured texts. Usually a particular collection of texts that is specified to one or more domains is necessary. We have developed a customizable text classifier for users to mine the collection automatically. It derives from the sentence category of the HNC theory and corresponding techniques. It can start with a few texts, and it can adjust automatically or be adjusted by user. The user can also control the number of domains chosen and decide the standard with which to choose the texts based on demand and abundance of materials. The performance of the classifier varies with the user's choice.

A triphenylphosphine-modified tetra-nuclear Cu(I) coordinated cluster was constructed for enhanced chemodynamic therapy (CDT) by increasing the number of metal centers. Once inside human bladder cancer (T24) cells, a larger amount of copper accumulated compared with the mono-nuclear Cu(I) complex; the additional copper could generate more •OH and then induce more obvious apoptosis via a Fenton-like reaction, thus further increasing the tumor inhibition effect and ultimately improving the CDT efficiency. In allusion to the insufficiency of the prediction accuracy of artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm for underground cavern rock surrounding stability, the method of ANFIS (adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference systems) machines is applied to researching into evolution law for a nonlinear deformation time series of rock surrounding. ANFIS is a new fuzzy inference system which combines neural network and fuzzy logic organically. The hybrid algorithm of back propagation algorithm and least square method is adopted to adjust the premise parameter and the consequent parameter respectively, which makes full use of the learning ability of neural network and the expression ability of fuzzy logic to realize the adaptive adjustment of the regression model. Using an isospin- and momentum-dependent transport model, we examine the effects of an electric field induced by a variable magnetic field on the π-/π+ ratio in central to peripheral heavy-ion collisions at beam energies of 400 and 1500 MeV/nucleon. It is shown that while the induced electric field does not affect the total multiplicities of both π- and π+ mesons at both the lower beam energy of 400 MeV/nucleon and the higher beam energy of 1500 MeV/nucleon, it reduces (enhances) the emission of π-(π+) mesons in midrapidity, but enhances (reduces) the emission of π-(π+) mesons in forward and backward rapidities especially for the more peripheral collisions at the lower beam energy because of the rapidly transient variable magnetic field at more peripheral collisions and the longer reaction duration time at the lower beam energy. These findings indicate that the total π-/π+ ratio is still a precisely reliable probe of symmetry energy at both the lower and the higher beam energies, but one should consider the induced electric field when using the differential π-/π+ ratio to probe the symmetry energy especially for the lower beam energy and more peripheral collisions. Finally, the relative suppression factor based on the ratio of π-/π+ in different rapidities is proposed to be an effective probe of the induced electric field generated in heavy-ion collisions due to its maximizing effects of induced electric fields on the differential π-/π+ ratio but minimizing effects of some uncertainty factors in heavy-ion collisions.
