Objective: To analyze the development of environmental sustainability practices at the Federal University of Cariri from the perspective of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking. Methodology: It is a case study with a mixed approach, of an applied and descriptive nature. The qualitative approach was applied with a survey of the official documents of the HEI related to sustainability and the realization of a focus group with members of the sustainability management coordination. The quantitative approach aimed to measure the institution's degree of sustainability by completing the UI GreenMetric questionnaire. Originality/Relevance: A detailed technical analysis is carried out on the institution's sustainable actions, identifying its weaknesses and potential in its sustainable management, contributing with reflections on the subject and proposing improvements to the practices currently developed. Main Results: It was evidenced that the HEI has already carried out and are in course several actions related to sustainability and that the theme has been strengthened in the organization. However, there is still no fully institutionalized environmental sustainability policy, which still lacks greater involvement on the part of the university's units and servers. Contributions: The main challenges to be overcome were identified, especially with regard to the involvement of the units and servers, as well as the systematization of information and the need for greater incentives for research in the area, and suggestions for improvements were made in order to offer the university alternatives to advance. in the institutionalization of the theme and in the adoption of good environmentally sustainable practices. The study seeks to find an answer to how to evaluate objectively the quality of management of an enterprise and, by extension, of its managers. The answer involves the evaluation of the financial performance of the companies surveyed. In order to verify the effects of the financial crisis on IT industry performance at 2008, about IT industry performance, it used data from two different periods, 2007 and 2009. The data obtained from factor analysis show that the financial performance of brazilian companies working in the IT industry it is explained by variables associated with operating results, in both periods considered (Before and after the 2008 crisis). The variables related to capital structure assumes greater relevance in the period after to 2008, just right which is a calculated factor attributable to them. It is therefore possible to note that the financial crisis of 2008 produced no significant changes on composition of the financial performance in IT companies, although the most relevant equity structure proves debt (representative measure of capital structure) a differential performance for companies evaluated. The key question in this article consists of identifying the conditions under which the social projects developed by the firm Alpha are really promoting the sustainable development in the state of Ceará, located in Northeast Brazil. The general goal is to discuss if the firm's social projects are related to the sustainable corporate entrepreneurship (SCE). This paper intends to stimulate the scientific community to advance knowledge on entrepreneurial, innovation and sustainability. This case study focuses on four Alpha's projects: Ecological Initiative, Efficient Exchange, Social Energy, and School of Efficient Paths. The thematic content's analysis methodology was used in this article. The documental research served as primary data source and helped to better elucidate the studied object. The researcher obtained 12 questionnaires answered. It was found an agreement of respondents to the categories: values, transparency and governance, workforce, environment, suppliers, consumers and customers and community. For the theme government and society, the results showed a disagreement with the category and for the last theme, innovation, the respondents are indifferent. After lexical analysis of data the results confirm in accordance with state of art of literature the existence of triple bottom line in the social projects of Alpha, by the categories resulted (profit, planet, people) from content's analysis of open questions. Alpha is a strong example of social commitment with poverty and environment. In conclusion, the research confirms that the firm promotes sustainable entrepreneurship and innovativeness leading to sustainable development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
