Pervasive digitalization is changing how firms engage in strategic competition. Some firms are pursuing digital disruption strategies, using digital resources to rewire their value chain and change the landscape of their industry by redefining performance expectations. Other firms are adapting to digitalization by adding digital resources into their existing value chain. Through NK model simulations, we advance our understanding of digital disruption vis-à-vis adaptation in strategic competition in two main ways. First, we unearth important nuances in performance trade-offs: A digital disruption strategy may be effective for relative performance at the expense of absolute performance gains. Storytelling can be considered good professional practice for organizational communication as it resonates with stakeholder audiences and contributes to the process of sensemaking. This paper challenges two key assumptions that underpin storytelling in an organizational context. The first assumption is that clarity is the goal of storytelling and therefore linear modes of organizational storytelling should be used to reduce complexity to achieve clarity of understanding of organizational messages. The second assumption is that organizational storytelling consists only of the stories an organization tells about itself, and multiple understandings or 'mixed messages' are 'noise'. This paper will argue that the storytelling concept antenarrative – or narrative fragments that can form emergent storytelling episodes – will expand the parameters of sensemaking in organizational storytelling. Furthermore, listening to emergent storytelling episodes can provide insights into prospective sensemaking, which has implications for organizational storytelling practices in our digital age. Putting antenarrative alongside concepts such as 'listening' and 'engagement' helps to improve organizational storytelling to work toward more effective organizational communication practice and respond to the challenges of complexity in storytelling, entanglements of the porous organization, and digital disruption. The hospitality business model has undergone profound changes influenced by successive waves of technological advances and platforms. This paper explores how different waves of technologies and platforms are shaping the evolution of the hospitality business model. Employing a systematic literature review, this research analyzes how platform innovation has driven significant shifts in the industry. The analysis yielded four key findings. Firstly, the incorporation of digital technologies resulted in a radical transformation of conventional business models, prompting substantial alterations in marketing strategies, distribution processes, and consumer behavior patterns. Secondly, the industry has undergone five significant technological revolutions, evolving from steam-powered transportation to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), thereby driving a shift towards innovation-centric business models. Thirdly, the advent of digital platforms, most notably online travel agencies (OTAs), posed a challenge to traditional hospitality models by introducing personalized experiences and disrupting established market norms. While digital platforms offer advantages such as enhanced convenience and customization, they also present challenges, including intensified competition and declining profit margins. Nonetheless, technological advancements such as AI, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) present a potential avenue for redefining value propositions and enhancing customer experiences. Fourth, the future of the hospitality business model is poised for further disruption, influenced by the emergence of new virtual platforms and services. This study explores the perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) within the creative sector of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based on 13 semi-structured interviews and a survey with 224 participants among media professionals and their stakeholders. The findings indicate considerable enthusiasm surrounding AI's potential to augment creativity and drive operational efficiency, a perspective that the study's participants share. However, there are also apprehensions regarding job displacement and the necessity for strategic upskilling. Participants generally regard AI as an unavoidable technological influence that demands adaptation and seamless integration into daily workflows. The study underscores the disparity between the UAE's government-led digital transformation objectives and the actual implementation within organizations, underscoring the urgent need for cohesive strategic alignment. This mixed methods study analyzes how broadcast news directors renegotiate their roles under organizational and cultural times of change. Even before COVID-19, local television news directors, one of the two predominant groups of journalism managers in the United States, were experiencing shifts in roles related to their growing work responsibilities. These changes were the result of long-term workplace upheavals including conglomeration and digital disruption. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, news directors found themselves managing through this additional, short-term upheaval. This study aims to investigate the roles and responsibilities of management accountants in Thailand, in a new and sustainable episode that has been disrupted by internal and external factors. Specifically, it also identifies the key factors that drive the changing roles of managerial accountants to be more innovative and business-strategy-oriented. Secondary data were employed in this study via the posted questionnaire to accountants who work in three industry sectors, namely manufacturing, retail and wholesale, and services. Multigroup structural equation modeling (multigroup SEM) was administered from the data. A sample set of 182 was gathered and used in the study’s analysis. 45% of the sample were accountants who worked in manufacturing, 22% in retail and wholesale, and 33% in service companies. The study proposed a structural equation modeling approach to determine key factors-digital technology force, leadership, digital technology readiness, digital technology competency, and attitude-that influence the changing roles of managerial accountants. The study finds that the factors that influenced the changing roles of managerial accountants differ from sector to sector. The digital technology force was found to have a weak influence on the changing roles of accountants, but moderately strong in retail and wholesale services. While the attitude of the accountants themselves was very strong to influence the changing roles, it was moderately strong for retail and wholesale, and rather weak for the services sector. Methods: The authors conducted a literature search using the databases Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar, focusing on papers released between 2003 and October 2023. The following keywords were used to conduct a thorough literature search: ((digital health OR digital disruption OR digital dental health)) AND (medical health OR telemedicine)), ((online doctor OR online consultation OR online health app)) AND (COVID-19 OR pandemic)). A total of 1,244 studies were screened, including duplicates and non-English research. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 72 articles were selected for the review. Results: A total of 72 articles were included in this review. The studies discussed the potential reasons for disrupted access to healthcare, which is linked to avoidable hospital admissions. Delayed care due to disruptions can lead to disease progression, the exacerbation of existing conditions, and chronic ambulatory care-sensitive conditions. Digital health innovations were presented as solutions to enhance care, reduce clinical workload, and promote independent living. Conclusions: In conclusion, this narrative review provides a comprehensive overview of the conceptual and methodological advancements in digital technology related to healthcare. Digital Disruption (DD) has become a hot topic in recent years, yet detailed research is surprisingly lacking. The literature offers almost no insights into how DD occurs at the industry level and what industry factors influence it. This paper advances knowledge of DD by developing and testing a configurational theory. Using a multi‐method research design, we identify two types of DD and four industry factors (downstream DD, digitally enabled structural conflict, transferability of core competitive elements, and industry player size) that contingently lead to the different types of DD. We integrate those findings into a configurational theory that describes causal recipes of how these factors or conditions combine to produce the outcome of transformational DD and destructive DD. The theory offers important implications for researchers and practitioners. The research also contributes methodologically by demonstrating the merits of combining grounded theory with qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) to expand the theory‐building potential of QCA. This research workshop reports on employee relations within ghost kitchens, which are delivery-only food businesses. Surveys conducted with 125 'invisible' ghost kitchen employees revealed that almost 70% of them had less than one year's experience working in ghost kitchens. Yet, close to half could see themselves working in such environments for four years or more. Ghost kitchens also featured a small pool of less than four staff and a workforce aged 18-25. More than half of the respondents possessed undergraduate qualifications, and at least two-thirds of those surveyed were female. Overall, favorable working conditions, as evidenced by ghost kitchen employees, contribute to theoretical and managerial implications for existing and future ghost kitchen practices. This paper presents a reflective examination of challenges to design and communication from the current digital revolution, using the prism of a 1980s television advertisement for the Yellow Pages. Originating at the same time as the height of the desktop publishing revolution, the advert illuminates a transitional period in the evolution of digital technology and media communications, marked by changing user practices and experiences. The advert's storyline follows a young man's quest to convert an old cine film (of his father) to videotape for his mother's birthday, in the process showcasing the impending shift from analogue to digital technologies and encapsulating the multifaceted implications and transitional challenges of the period. The hybrid setting of technologies, alongside the tensions, confusion and ambiguities of different stakeholders metaphorically symbolises and can be contrasted alongside, the challenges impacting the design, media and communications industry of the period and can inform reflection on contemporary challenges. Engaging with the narrative, the Yellow Pages advert is used as a creative device which functions as a cultural, historical, narrative lens with which to contrast against contemporary (and future) transitional challenges within the digital revolution. Design/methodology/approach: Employing a conceptual approach, this paper synthesizes existing literature and theoretical frameworks related to DT, integrating its technological, strategic and organizational dimensions. The study also proposes a research agenda that spotlights pressing DT issues, challenges and actionable strategies for businesses. With the arrival of disruptive technologies, creative industries have had to confront harsh challenges especially in developing countries. In this paper, we examine the endurance of three major creative industries amidst a changing landscape in Malaysia in terms of pressure from disruptive technologies as well as global competition. Our findings are based on in-depth interviews with employees in three major creative industry sectors in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Our findings suggest that the investigated creative industries are at the juncture of significant changes with available limited resources. Even prominent sectors with creative industries are challenged by a lack of a talent pool to embrace new trends and developments due to technological advancements. Summary: Studies examining the digital disruption of diplomacy focus on the micro level of diplomats' working routines. This article investigates the new practice of 'domestic digital diplomacy' to explore interactions between micro- and macro-level disruptions. The practice of domestic digital diplomacy stems from the digital disruption of government ministries that embrace an outward-looking stance. Domestic digital diplomacy also impacts society as diplomats create a prism through which citizens can make sense of their world. Few studies have investigated how ministries of foreign affairs (MFAs) create such a domestic prism. This study addresses this gap by analysing the images shared on Twitter by the British Foreign Office following Brexit. Using Barthes's semiotic approach to image analysis, this study demonstrates that MFAs can use images to shape their citizens' worldviews, values and beliefs. Summary: This article introduces the special issue on digital disruption in diplomacy. We propose a new research agenda, advancing novel conceptualisations and empirical insights into the hybrid nature of contemporary diplomatic practices in a broad range of areas such as peace-making, inter-state signalling, domestic politics, digital communication, public diplomacy and popular culture. Emphasising the major impact of new technologies and the convergence of offline and online diplomatic space, we address the transformative influence at both the micro level of individual actors and the macro level of diplomatic processes and structures. By taking stock of the existing digital diplomacy literature and exploring emerging digital technologies, diplomatic signalling and digital disinformation, we show how new research on digital disruption in diplomacy may be advanced by focusing on agency-structure, method and data collection. Digital social ventures are initiatives that intend to transformatively engage social and environmental problems through the application of digital technology and are a new phenomenon found globally. While the broad influence and consequences of disruptive digital technology are increasingly taken for granted, very little research focuses on the deliberate use of digital technology for social purpose. This study is situated within three areas of literature: disruption caused by digital innovations, the use of digital technology by social purpose organizations, and social entrepreneurship. The process of digital social venture emergence and evolution shows how flashy-sounding technological solutions develop into more modest and incrementally useful tech-supported adjuncts. A preliminary framework for conceptualizing the nature and process of digital social ventures shows how a Schumpeterian approach to social entrepreneurship as disrupting equilibrium gives way to a Hayekian approach as drawing on local, embedded knowledge to achieve incremental change. Purpose – The pervasive impact of the COVID-19 virus on the food services sector in India has created conditions for fundamentally altering the structure of the industry. This paper offers a nuanced evaluation of the transfiguration of the market, explaining descriptive views supported by numerous secondary data sources. Design/methodology/approach – This is a self-driven study grounded in secondary data. Qualitative and quantitative assessments are assimilated from credible market research reports of multiple agencies in the Indian context, as well as news developments during the pandemic period. Findings – Digitally pivoted platforms such as cloud kitchens and delivery aggregators will eclipse all other formats due to the potential long-term prevalence of the COVID-19 virus. These formats would rise to a dominant position in the Indian food services sector in the coming decade. Research limitations/implications – This study is entirely driven by secondary data due to the inherent difficulties of collecting sizeable and good quality primary data as a result of the lengthy and stringent lockdowns imposed across India. Future studies should consider collecting consumer responses to get a better picture of changing dining habits in the post-pandemic scenario. Practical implications – The dynamic and evolving food services in India, catalyzed by the Internet and digital technologies will help academicians study the long-term implications of this change, and how it would impact society at large. The paper provides a rich body of contemporary data and analysis in the food services sphere. Social implications – The COVID-19 pandemic and its long-term persistence would dramatically alter food service consumption across India. This will not only change how the industry is structured, but will reshape how food is consumed into the future. Originality/value – The study is a holistic examination of the relationship between the coronavirus pandemic and the food services industry in India. The macro perspectives aided by news coverage and industry research would help generate potential research questions on its own merits.

It is without a doubt that the impact of digital transformation and disruptive technologies has impacted all industries globally. There is hardly any sector that is left untouched by this form of innovation. This is also true for the power sector, which is the industry targeted for this study. The power sector is crucial for human existence, and hence, it is the use of different kinds of technology that must be employed at the helm of its operations. These different kinds of technology are related to AI, Robotics, IoT, and Big Data. The major intention behind these technologies should be to pace up different projects managed in the industry. Therefore, the company selected for this project is Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). It is a company that is involved with various technological projects ranging from smart grids to digital meters to managing customer data. By interviewing thirteen key people from the company, the study highlights the current status of technology and how it is being employed by different power sector companies. In the end, it has been deduced that the future of the power industry relies on its adaption of green energy generation, and hence, all the efforts of the companies should be directed toward producing green energy with the help of modern technology. Also, it was found that the use of AI can enhance the efficiency of the projects, making them less risky. The management of telework is in essence to correctly perform the technologies continuously at work and thus adapt to the abrupt changes produced by digital disruption; in that sense the present study has as main objective to determine the relationship between the management of telework and digital disruption in the administrative staff of a public university. In the same way it is intended to determine the relationship between the dimensions: IT infrastructure, organization, control and general awareness; and the variable digital disruption. The method used was quantitative, basic type, correlational level, according to the method, general and scientific, non-experimental research design of cross-sectional type; the sample consisted of 201 administrative workers. For data collection, the survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire as an instrument. According to the results, a Rho de Spearman coefficient of = 0.548 was obtained, with a p-value = 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it is concluded that there is a considerable positive relationship between telework management and disruption in the administrative staff of a public university. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This phenomenon is a bait for the occurrence of digital disruption that affects students' language politeness and understanding of digital cultural literacy which is still low. Through online seminars or webinars, education related to language politeness, the use of social media in the era of digital disruption, and cyber security need to be provided so that students have an understanding of how to do digital activities safely and can speak politely so that they can become people of character and intelligence as a efforts to deal with the phenomena that occur. The webinar activity received a positive response as seen from the enthusiasm of the students who were actively involved in the question and answer session to understand how to use language in digital media communication safely and politely. This paper is to establish a fit-for-purpose conceptual framework for the IT Operating model to handle emerging requirements in IT. Currently, there is no standard one size fits all kind of Operating Model. This paper brings a flexible IT Operating model to address emerging requirements. We examined today's various IT operating models suggested by Institutions and experts. Based on our study, we have proposed a conceptual framework for the IT Operating Model by carefully analysing the dimensions and mapping them to elements of IT Strategy and Operations discussed in this paper, giving an adaptive framework that can address various requirements. Our research shows a dearth of consistent framework and definition of an IT Operating Model. Hence, we see many facets of the operating model of organizations. Research, Advisory, and Consulting firms have given definitions and articulated the IT operating model to resolve this challenge. However, they need to be more consistent and address diverse requirements. This paper introduces a conceptual framework of the operating model to address the requirements of digital technology-related disruptions. This paper extends the existing body of knowledge around emerging IT Operating Models, and enhances it to create a conceptual framework. In doing this, we have also tried leveraging the existing knowledge body.

Orientation: COVID-19 pandemic led to a surge in e-commerce with retailers having to embrace digital technologies and develop, implement and/or update digital strategies. Research purpose: This study aims to analyse the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the digital strategies of four JSE-listed retailers. Motivation for the study: The e-commerce industry in South Africa is still developing, and retailers need guidance on how to plan better for and manage new customer behaviour introduced by the pandemic. Research design/approach and method: A multiple case study approach was followed to collect qualitative data from the integrated reports of four JSE-listed retailers for the financial year-ends of 2017 until 2021. A newly developed digital strategy hexagon framework was used as the measuring instrument. Main findings: The findings indicate that the retailers with a pre-COVID digital strategy were better positioned to address challenges associated with the pandemic and also displayed the six components of the digital strategy hexagon framework in their integrated reports. Practical/managerial implications: E-commerce businesses could use the framework to design a digital strategy and/or build on their existing digital strategy. Contribution/value add: A novel digital strategy hexagon framework was designed, which could be used by businesses to build or improve their digital strategy.

Generation Z, who are prospective customers, are digital natives. As the infrastructure and technology of the internet have developed, this study examines whether digital disruption demonstrates the uniqueness of Generation Z and affects their attitudes toward products they rarely see. Digital media, social network sites, and instant messaging are emphasized due to their relationship to digital disruption. Social networks (e.g., social network sites and instant messaging) encourage interactions and are therefore separate from digital media. The questionnaire in this study was based on a thorough literature review, and reliability and validity were ensured. A total of 505 responses were used for hypothesis testing by the bootstrapping method and ordinary least squares. The results partially comply with the suggestion that Generation Z depends more on information from digital media than previous generations. However, social networks have a greater effect than digital media and do not show generational differences. Although the nature and lifestyle differ across generations, certain circumstances (e.g., working requirements) cause people to not conform to the stereotype of a specific generation. Hence, digital disruption creates generational differences, but these differences can be eliminated through practice. Given the development of digital innovation and its wider systemic effects, this study discusses the disruption of digital technology and the emergence of digital natives. The challenge with producing design is how to stay attuned and relevant to the needs of the end users. Professionals are required to understand the demands of their users or consumers for their design to work, including the practice of landscape architecture. To address this challenge, methodologies are always developed for target users. This study tries to add to this, with the consideration of social media as a timely source for aesthetic information. Through the landscape qualities found in big data, designers can be able to access a new type of community - the online commons. For this research, visual content from Instagram shall be translated into aesthetic landscape vocabulary that landscape architects can consider. The main problem was how to establish a method to derive aesthetic vocabulary from the representations found within the images posted on Instagram online. The methodology is segmented into two parts -- big data mining and coding, and evaluation with landscape architects. This study suggests a method for landscape architects to be able to align themselves with what the online community deems as aesthetic landscapes. A new era of 21st-century living appears to be upon us, and project management as a profession appears to be ready to embrace it. Big data collects and stores enormous amounts of data that are becoming increasingly difficult to manage and analyze. The potential benefits and competitive edge of this new technology are motivating the majority of businesses to invest in big data analytics. Structured or unstructured, large amounts of heterogeneous data are processed and managed as "Big Data" in the enterprise. This includes both structured and unstructured data. Analytic methods and technologies are heavily employed in the management and analysis of large and complex data sets for use in a wide range of applications that enhance the performance of a business. This paper analyzes the impact of big data and business analysis on project management. A literature review is followed by primary and secondary data analysis, which includes interviews and surveys for architectural analysis, in an exploratory study. Qualitative and quantitative data are the norm in all studies in this study. The present study is descriptive in nature, as the goal is to examine the impact of big data and business analysis on project management. Housing futures are increasingly diverse as they are reshaped by the intersecting forces of unaffordability, labour precarity and digital disruption. Despite this diversity, the way we think about housing has largely remained tied to frameworks that fit traditional housing markets and governance. While these give valuable insights into the structural form of housing systems, they are less appropriate for understanding the myriad of ways these changes are responded to and experienced on the ground. In this essay, I argue that we need more-than political economy approaches to understand the rapidly changing housing landscape. I pose the housing hack as a way of theorising housing from the minor, assisting in identifying ruptures in housing experiences and taking them seriously as a way to think between major narratives on housing, to show desires and possibilities previously unaccounted for, and to glimpse alternative housing possibilities. I propose the housing hack as useful for doing conceptual, analytical and speculative work demanded of thinking through these changes in housing. While hacks do not always do good, they are useful for revealing what is broken and in their workarounds can point to generative possibilities and alternative housing futures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The purpose of this conceptual article is to explore the drivers behind digital disruption that have taken the whole globe by storm as a result of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic. Motivation of the researcher in constructing the article was to logically alert the present-day and future-world business leaders on how to respond to the digital disruptive forces attributed to deadly viral pandemics like COVID-19. The current article is based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) of secondary data sources, mainly peer-reviewed journal articles, the purpose being to draw conclusions and identify research gaps. It is based on a structural analysis methodology to frame the categories of the major analyses in combination with scientific rigour to a broad and complex problem. Research results proved that the primary forces driving digital disruption in pandemic ravages include technology dynamics, globalization and demographics. They evolve in successive waves. It is these waves that generate novel digital and technological disruptive megatrends. Implications to contemporary business leaders include bringing in present-day digital technologies, incubating survival plans of actions or strategies so as to fully operationalize businesses seamlessly. These may include, but not limited to, establishing technological innovation appetite meant to address, respond and navigate within the associated digital disruptive complexities. The study results underscore the necessity of understanding digital disruption and global businesses' viability under COVID-19 pandemic. Digital innovations are disrupting the accounting profession, and this disruption is likely to increase. Artificial intelligence (AI) applications, blockchain, and decision support technologies are moving beyond the "hype" stage to adoption in the accounting profession. Although accountants are gaining a greater understanding of the potential of these technologies, there is limited consensus on using these new capabilities in the accounting domain and how they are likely to impact the profession. This study investigates the potential impact of emerging technologies on the accountant's role. A review of six relevant international accounting journals was conducted, focusing on keywords relating to these emerging technologies and articles published between 2011 and 2020. The articles examined are used to understand what the digital future looks like for the accounting profession. This means that physicians must increase the time spared for each patient again by the precise proportionality. This may lead to exposing the accuracy and quality of the course of action to be taken for the patients. Increasing the physician’s required time for one patient means that the physician can see fewer patients. This will create an issue with the medical management authority as more physicians are needed, and higher expenses will be required.Purpose: The two questions that arise here are 1. Identify the potential opportunities and challenges for extensive data analysis in the healthcare sector. 2. Evaluate different ways in which big medical data can be analyzed?Methods: The authors identified the four concerned parties representing the four potential solutions dimensions to answer these two questions. These parties are 1. physicians, 2. health information systems management (HISM) departments, mainly the EMR system, and 3. Health management departments 4. Relevant Health Information Systems (HIS) parties. A literature review and 25 interviews were conducted. The interviews covered 1: Two global organizations: John Hopkins and Joint Commission International (JCI), 2: Three United Arab Emirates-based health organizations: Department of health in Abu Dhabi, SEHA in Abu Dhabi, Dubai health Authority (DHA) in Dubai, 3: 10 Physicians from different specialties, 4: Five EMR managers and 5: Five IT (Information Technology) professionals representing the HIS parties. Qualitative analysis is used as the approach for data analysis.Results: Identifying the managerial and the technical recommendations to be utilized mainly based on digital disruption technologies, tools, and processes.Conclusion: Healthcare has been slow in embracing digital disruption and transformation. In most areas, it is still in the initial stages. The Industrial Era 5.0 and the current covid 19 pandemic have made almost all large, medium, and small companies including MSMEs transform by strengthening their business online to survive and compete, but with the development of technology and intense business competition indirectly many penetrate the market and segments that are not good for other competitors, one of which is the MSME sector for processing products from silkworms in Pasuruan Regency. The purpose of this study is to model the management of digital disruption in SMEs Handicraft processing of silkworm products in Pasuruan Regency through the integration approach of Business Model Canvas (BMC) and integer programming. The results showed that the management of digital disruption of SMEs in the craft of processing products from silkworms requires understanding to be able to optimally utilize online media, especially Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in an effort to market products to create added value and to be created into various types of variations so as to increase the selling price. high with an increase rate of 5% at the beginning of its implementation.

Digital evolution has disrupted advertising globally, and the outdated business models used by South African advertising agencies are pushing their customers towards their competitors in the digital space. The objective of the study was to provide a framework of Critical Success Factors (CSF) for marketing decision-makers operating in the digital era by investigating the extent and implications of this digital disruption. Triangulation through a mixed-methods approach with the sequential exploratory design was employed. In the qualitative phase, the impact of digital disruption on South African advertising agencies (AA) was explored through interviews. The findings were used to develop a questionnaire for the quantitative phase, in which exploratory factor analysis was employed. As a result, six factors significant for the operations of advertising agencies in the digital age were identified. These are (i) characteristics of modern marketing; (ii) agency sustainability in the digital age; (iii) characteristics of effective advertising in the digital age; (iv) critical skills for advertising agencies to succeed in the digital age; (v) digital capabilities for agencies' success in the digital age; (vi) agency structure and process considerations for the digital age. The resulting CSF Framework provides the marketing decision-makers with a broader perspective on their strongly digitalised business environment and permits a smoother transition of AA towards a new sustainable business model. Digital transformation is a socioeconomic change across organizations, individuals, societies, and ecosystems formed by the utilization and adoption of digital technologies. This study modeled the factors that drive the degree of digital transformation in the financial services sector in South Africa. Data from 350 participants was modeled in terms of seven factors: organizational IT application portfolios; organizational culture; organizational structure; organizational dynamic capabilities; leadership; employee roles and skills; and ethics. How does the Indian movie industry recoup, rebuild and rejuvenate post-COVID-19? Are there new pathways opening up? Is digitization one of them? These are the hot topics that are being discussed by practitioners in the Indian movie industry, since the global pandemic, COVID-19, reduced India as a nation from a thriving movie industry to a struggling movie industry. They are illustrative of entrepreneurial failure in the Indian movie industry, exposed by COVID-19. There is an urgent need to develop alternate pathways for revenue generation to protect the Indian movie industry from further decline. With close to 2000 movies being released each year, the movie industry was one of the largest employment-generating industries in India, bringing both income and joy to people's lives in a nation beset by vast differences in wealth. However, it has been based on theatrical exhibition rather than digitization, with a lukewarm response to digital providers, to its detriment. During the pandemic, lack of digital innovation flipped from 'might do' to 'must do' in order to ensure the many family businesses in the Indian movie industry survive and monetize developed content. Though India's poor lost out on their share of entertainment due to screen closures, digitization ensured that the growing middle class could be catered to. However, the business model is rapidly changing and the role of the producer as an entrepreneur is diminishing because artists and technicians are directly striking deals and developing content with funding from digital providers.
