Introduction. The results of theoretical and empirical research on the concept of self-esteem and motivation of students receiving psychological education. The structure and types of self-esteem, as well as factors influencing the formation of self-esteem are analyzed. The scientific value of personal characteristics in the profession of future psychologists is determined. The relevance of the influence of self-esteem on the motivational readiness of students for professional activity is substantiated. Features of professional self-assessment of future psychologists are outlined. Purpose. Thus, the pandemic and the war that affected Ukraine make clear the importance of psychological care and the impact of this profession on millions of people. It is also important to understand that the formation of self-esteem and motivation of modern youth is influenced by socio-cultural and political-economic processes in Ukraine. The demands placed on the new generation will have an impact on the future of society. Methods. Theoretical (the analysis of the literature, theoretical date generalization) and empirical (instrumental) research methods are used. Originality. The efficiency and quality of work of any specialist, including a psychologist, largely depends on the established system of self-esteem and motivation . Because psychologists are in constant contact with people, it is very important to be guided by socially significant motives for their behavior. Сonsidering the economic orientation of the modern world, which is more self-centered, we were interested in how it affects the modern psychologist motivation system. The empirical study, which was conducted in two stages: in January 2022 and February 2022, allows us to determine the impact of war, as a socio-economic and political factor, on changing the hierarchy of professional motivation and self-esteem in students. Conclusion. Empirical research has shown what the respondents have an adequate level of self-esteem and low level of frustration. These are motivations about a high level of stress, a positive focus on success and average indicators of the need to achieve the goal. The majority of respondents showed a sufficient level of formation of all components of motivation. The need for professional activity is expressed stably, without sharp fluctuations. Average self-esteem is observed in the rest of the respondents and indicates overestimated or underestimated self-esteem. This, in turn, manifests itself in dissatisfaction with themselves, a categorical perception of the world around them, escape from trouble, refusal to fight. In this category of respondents, the motivational pole is not pronounced, or is aimed at waiting for the fear of failure, respectively, there is no stability and the need for professional activity ranges from too high to very low., У статті представлено результати теоретичного та емпіричного дослідження поняття самооцінки та мотивації студентів, котрі здобувають психологічну освіту. Проаналізовано структуру та види самооцінки, а також фактори, що впливають на формування самооцінки. Визначено наукову цінність особистісних характеристик в професії майбутніх психологів. Обґрунтовано актуальність впливу самооцінки на мотиваційну готовність студентів до професійної діяльності. Окреслено особливості професійної самооцінки майбутніх психологів.
