Inspire par des histoires reelles, Much loved (2015) de Nabil Ayouch fait la chronique la vie quotidienne de quatre travailleuses du sexe a Marrakech. Parce que le corps feminin, le desir et la sexualite sont montres a l'image et a cause de dialogues explicites, le film a ete interdit de projection au Maroc. Pourtant, il a reussi a declencher un debat public sur la liberte d'expression et sur l'ordre moral. A y regarder de plus pres, le film devoile pourtant une autre dimension encore plus subversive. En supposant que Much loved interroge, ou meme trouble, la normativite rigide de genre et de la sexualite, cet article examine les differents modes de transgression a partir des etudes sur le genre et de la theorie queer. Il s'agit en premier lieu de montrer l'ambiguite de la figure de la travailleuse du sexe dans les arts maghrebins et europeens pour explorer ensuite la subversion des roles de genre traditionnels, la representation du corps feminin et la presence du desir non-normatif. Finalement, l'interpretation aide a apporter un eclairage nouveau sur la mise en image contestee du travail du sexe, de la sexualite et du corps feminin. Abstract: Inspired by real events, Nabil Ayouch's drama Much loved (2015) tells the story of four sex workers in Marrakech. Because it shows the feminine body, sex, and desire, and on account of its explicit dialogues, the film was officially banned in Morocco. Nevertheless, the film initiated a debate about freedom of expression and the moral order. On closer inspection, the movie reveals another much more subversive dimension. Assuming that Much loved challenges or even troubles rigid gender and sexual norms, this article explores the different modes of transgression drawing on Gender and Queer Theory. After showing the ambivalence of the figure of the sex worker in Maghrebian and European arts the article investigates the subversion of traditional gender roles, the representation of the female body, and the presence of non-normative desire. Finally, the interpretation helps to shed new light on the contested images of sex work, sexuality, and the female body.
