Involving ww-distances we prove a fixed point theorem of Caristi-type in the realm of (non-necessarily T1{T}_{1}) quasi-metric spaces. With the help of this result, a characterization of quasi-metric completeness is obtained. Our approach allows us to retrieve several key examples occurring in various fields of mathematics and computer science and that are modeled as non-T1{T}_{1} quasi-metric spaces. As an application, we deduce a characterization of complete GG-metric spaces in terms of a weak version of Caristi’s theorem that involves a G-metric version of w-distances.

We deal with some impulsive Caputo-Fabrizio fractional differential equations in bb-metric spaces. We make use of α-ϕ\alpha \text{-}\phi -Geraghty-type contraction. An illustrative example is the subject of the last section.

In this manuscript, we introduce a new hybrid contraction that unify several nonlinear and linear contractions in the set-up of a complete metric space. The essential importance of the best proximity point theory is that "best proximity point theory" appears in the coincidence of "metric fixed point theory" and "optimization theory." So finding best proximity points of mappings satisfying different type of contractive conditions in different structures is one of the fascinating research topics. For this, in this article, we first introduce a new type of proximal property of a pair of subsets of a metric space, which we designate as proximal weakly compact pair. After this, we come up with some new type of proximal contractive and proximal cyclic contractive mappings. In this paper, we consider a new distance structure, extended Branciari b-distance, to combine and unify several distance notions and obtain fixed point results that cover several existing ones in the corresponding literature. In this paper, utilizing the notion of the common limit range property, we prove some new integral type common fixed point theorems for weakly compatible mappings satisfying a $$\varphi $$ -weak contractive condition in metric spaces. Moreover, we extend our results to four finite families of self mappings, and furnish an illustrative example and an application to support our main theorem. Due to its possible applications, Fixed Point Theory has become one of the most useful branches of Nonlinear Analysis. In a very recent paper, Khojasteh et al. introduced the notion of simulation function in order to express different contractivity conditions in a unified way, and they obtained some fixed point results. In this paper, we slightly modify their notion of simulation function and we investigate the existence and uniqueness of coincidence points of two nonlinear operators using this kind of control functions. Sintunavarat and Kumam (W. Sintunavarat, P. Kumam, Gregus-type common fixed point theorems for tangential multi-valued mappings of integral type in metric spaces, Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 2011 12 (Article ID 923458)) extended the tangential property to hybrid pair of mappings which generalizes the idea of tangential property due to Pathak and Shahzad (H.K. Pathak, N. In the present paper, we introduce the notion of strong tangential property and utilize the same to prove an integral type metrical common fixed point theorem for non-self mappings. An illustrative example is also furnished to support our main result.
