Behaviour of structural members under various loads has been a major area of interest. Concrete which takes shape easily resists to high temperature and doesn't require continuous service is a widely used material in construction works. Structures are under the effect of several loads during their economic lives. Impact is the least known one among all loading types. Impact effect is used to determine the mechanical behaviours of structural member under high stress values. Experimental studies are performed to remove the uncertainties occurring from dynamic effects by designing testing apparatuses. In this study, a reinforced concrete beam is produced in the laboratory and tested by a testing apparatus. This member is also modelled by ABAQUS finite elements analysis program. Damage situations, time varying acceleration, velocity, displacement, and impact force values are obtained and compared with both experimental and finite elements analyses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
