Aims: This study aimed to analyze the impacts of digital game addiction on the musculoskeletal system of secondary school children in Kayseri. Patients and Methods: A total of 1000 healthy children have been included. A questionnaire, which has been prepared by the researchers and questions children's socio-demographic knowledge, sport habits, durations of study, types of digital tools they use to play games, using positions and durations of use, has been applied to the children. A visual analog scale was used to assess pain intensity. Game addiction has been evaluated through Computer Game Addiction Scale for Children. Results: Between computer and phone use and neck pain, a significant correlation has been found (P < 0.05). Between game addiction and wrist, back and low back pain, a significant correlation has been detected. While males use more computer, tablet and are more addicted to games, the scores of head, wrist and back pain in females have been found out to be significantly high. Conclusions: As they cause musculoskeletal problems, the higher the time children consume in front of digital devices and the more they use it in wrong posture; the more the complaints about pain are.

Amaç: Bu çalışma, annelerin dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin farkındalıklarını etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışma, kesitsel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 1-17 yaş arası çocuğa sahip 287 anne oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığına İlişkin Farkındalık Ölçeği (DOBİFÖ) kullanılarak, çevrimiçi anket yoluyla toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan annelerin yaş ortalaması 31,21±6,46’dır. Annelerin %36,9’u bir çocuğa sahiptir ve %43,9’u 6-10 yıldır akıllı telefon/tablet PC (personel computer: kişisel bilgisayar) kullanmaktadır. Çalışmada annelerin dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin farkındalıklarının yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Çalışmada 11 ve üzeri yıldır akıllı telefon/tablet PC kullanan annelerin dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin içsel farkındalıkları diğer annelere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde yüksek bulunmuştur. Ek olarak çocuk sayısı bir olan annelerin dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin dışsal farkındalık ve DOBİFÖ toplam puan düzeyleri, iki veya daha çok çocuğa sahip annelere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde yüksektir. Sonuç: Annelerin dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin farkındalıklarının yüksek olduğu, akıllı telefon/tablet PC kullanma süresi ve çocuk sayısının dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin farkındalığı etkilendiği saptanmıştır. Annelerin dijital oyun bağımlılığına ilişkin bilgilerinin artırılması, dijital çevrelerinin ve dijital ebeveynlik rollerinin desteklenmesine yönelik çalışmaların planlanması önerilmektedir., Objective: This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting mothers' awareness of digital game addiction.Methods: The study is a cross-sectional study. The sample of study consisted of 287 mothers with children aged 1-17. The research data is collected through an online questionnaire using the Personal Information Form and the Awareness of Digital Game Addiction Scale (ADGAS). Results: The mean age of the mothers is 31.21±6.46. 36.9% of mothers have one child, 43.9% of them have been using a smart phone/tablet PC (personal computer) for 6-10 years. In the study, it is found that mothers have high awareness of digital game addiction. The internal awareness of digital game addiction of mothers who have been using a smart phone/tablet PC for 11 or more years was found to be statistically significantly higher than the other mothers. In addition, the external awareness of digital game addiction and the total score of ADGAS of mothers with one child are statistically significantly higher than mothers with two or more children.Conclusion: The mothers' awareness of digital game addiction was high, and the duration of smartphone/tablet PC use and the number of children were affected by their awareness of digital game addiction. It is recommended to plan studies to increase the knowledge of mothers on digital game addiction and to support digital environment and digital parenting roles.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının dijital oyun bağımlılıkları ve ebeveynlerin bu süreçte uyguladıkları rehberlik stratejilerinin saptanabilmesi için geçerli ve güvenilir ölçekler geliştirebilmektir. Ayrıca geliştirilen ölçekler aracılığı ile ebeveynlerin uyguladıkları stratejilerin ve çocukların dijital oyun bağımlılık eğilim düzeylerinin saptanabilmesi; elde edilen bu sonuçlar ile çocukların problem davranışları arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İlişkisel tarama desenindeki araştırma iki aşamada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın birinci aşamasında geliştirilen ölçme araçlarının geçerlilik ve güvenirlik çalışmaları için açımlayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın ikinci aşamasında geliştirilen bu ölçekler kullanılarak araştırma verileri elde edilmiş ve bu veriler ile doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini; 2018- 2019 eğitim öğretim yılında Denizli ili merkez ilçelerinde bulunan, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı resmi ilköğretim okulları bünyesinde yer alan anasınıfları ve bağımsız anaokullarına devam eden okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının ebeveynleri oluşturmaktadır. İlk aşama için 956 ebeveyne (Çalışma Grubu-I), ikinci aşama için 437 ebeveyne (Çalışma Grubu-II) ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri geliştirilen “Dijital Oyun Bağımlılık Eğilimi”, “Dijital Oyun Ebeveyn Rehberlik Stratejileri” ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Ayrıca “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Sosyal Yetkinlik ve Davranış Değerlendirme Ölçeği- 30” araçları veri toplama amacıyla kullanılmıştır. Verilen analizinde, SPSS 23 ve SPSS AMOS 26 paket programları kullanılmıştır. Bulguların analizinde ölçeğin faktör yapısını belirlemek için AFA, oluşturulan faktör yapısını doğrulamak için DFA kullanılmıştır. Geliştirilen ölçekler aracılığı ile alt problemler doğrultusunda araştırma sonuçları elde edilmiş, bulguların elde edilmesinde; faktöriyel ANOVA (2x3), Pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyon katsayısı, T-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları; katılımcı okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının her beşinden birinin bağımlılık eğilimi gösterdiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca, tüm yaş gruplarında erkek çocuklarının kız çocuklarına göre daha fazla bağımlılık eğilimi gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ebeveynlerin uyguladıkları stratejiler incelendiğinde, ebeveynlerin aktif ebeveyn rehberlik stratejilerini uyguladıkları görülmektedir. Bu doğrultuda annelerin babalara göre, eğitim düzeyi yüksek ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeyi düşük ebeveynlere göre aktif rehberlik stratejileri daha fazla uyguladıkları, ayrıca dijital oyunlara yönelik olumsuz bakış açısı sergileyen ebeveynlerin, çocuklarını dijital oyuna daha az yönlendirdikleri görülmektedir. Aktif stratejileri uygulayan ebeveynlerin çocuklarında bağımlılık eğilimi saptanmazken; serbest ve dijitale yönlendirme stratejileri uygulayan ebeveynlerin çocuklarının dijital oyun bağımlılık eğilimlerinin arttığı saptanmıştır. Sonuçlar, çocukların dijital oyun bağımlılık eğilim toplam puanları arttıkça olumlu davranışlar içeren sosyal yetkinlik azalmakta, olumsuz sosyal davranışlar içeren öfke-agresyon ve kaygı-geri çekilmenin arttığını göstermektedir. The aim of this study was to develop valid and reliable scales to determine preschool children’s digital game addiction tendencies and children and parental mediation strategies. . In addition, parental mediation strageies and digital play addiction tendency levels of the children were determined and the relationships among the children's problem behaviors were explored. This corelational survey study was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, exploratory factor analysis (AFA) was performed to calculate validity and reliability of research tools developed for this stduy. In the second stage, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed with these data. The sample of the research consisted of the parents who had children attending preschools and kindergartens affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the central districts of Denizli in the 2018- 2019 academic year. Total of 956 parents (Group-I) and 437 parents (Group-II) were participated in this study. In order to collect the data, “Digital Play Addiction Tendency Scale” and “Digital Play Parental Mediation Strategies Scale” were developed. In addition, "Personal Information Form" and "Social Competency and Behavior Evaluation Scale-30" tools were used for data collection. SPSS 23 and SPSS AMOS 26 package programs were used to analyze the data. AFA was used to determine the factor structure of the scales and DFA was used to verify the factor structures. Factorial ANOVA (2x3), Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, T-test, one-way ANOVA tests were performed to determine the realationships among the variables. The research findings revealed that one out of five of the participant children showed an addiction tendency. In addition, it was concluded that boys in all age groups tended to be more addicted than girls. When the parental digital play mediation strategies were examined, the parents more often used “active parent guidance strategies”. Accordingly, it is seen that mothers adopted active guidance strategies more than fathers, parents with higher education levels than parents with low education levels, and parents who display negative views towards digital games, direct their children to digital games. Children’s digital play addiction tendency levels were low for the parents used active mediation strategies; It has been determined that the parent used “monitorig and free strategies” have increased children’s tendency of digital game addiction. The results showed that as the total scores of children's digital game addiction tendency increased, social competence with positive behaviors decreased, anger-aggression and anxiety-retraction with negative social behaviors increased.

1960’lı yıllarda ortaya çıkmaya başlayan bilgisayar oyunlarının bağımlılık yarattığı yapılan farklı araştırmalarla ortaya konulmaktadır. 1990’lı yıllardan itibaren daha fazla popülerlik kazanan bilgisayar oyunları, teknolojinin gelişmesi ile birlikte gerçekliğin de kurgulanmasında rol almaya başlamıştır. Gelişen teknoloji ve teknolojik gereçler bilgisayar oyunlarını dijital oyunlar haline dönüştürerek sadece bilgisayar tabanlı olmaktan çıkarıp mobil, VR gözlük, simülasyonlar, konsollar olmak üzere birçok teknolojik donanım üzerinde de ulaşılabilir kılmaktadır. Teknolojinin gelişmesi sadece bilgisayar oyunlarını değil aynı zamanda gerçeklik algısını da değiştirmektedir. Dijital oyunların ve teknolojik gereçlerin gelişmesiyle ‘kurgulanmış gerçeklik’ gibi kavramlar ortaya çıkmıştır. Dijital oyunlar ile birlikte ortaya çıkan sanal dünya, kullanıcıların gerçek dünyadan kopmadan başka dünya deneyimleri yaşamasına olanak sağlamaktadır. Bu deneyimleri dijital oyunlar sayesinde yaşayan kullanıcılar sanal dünya üzerinde iletişimlerini ve bağlarını genişletirken gerçek dünyanın getirdiği somut kavramlardan uzaklaşabilmektedirler. İletişim bu sanal ortamlarda yüz yüze değil teknoloji dolayımlı bir biçimde gerçekleşmektedir. Özellikle gençlerin bağımlı olduğu bu dijital oyunlar onları gerçek hayatın sosyalliğinden kopararak asosyal yapabilmekte ve sanal sosyal dünyalarını kurmalarına izin vererek gerçeklikten uzaklaştırabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Baudrillard’ın simülasyon ve simülakrlar kuramı temel alınarak dijital oyunların ve sanal gerçekliğin yarattığı bağımlılık ele alınmıştır. The developing technology and technological tools have caused computer games to cease to be only based on computer by converting them into digital games and also make them available on many technological tools, including mobile, VR glasses, simulations, consoles, etc. The development of technology not only changes computer games but also the of reality. The concepts such as constructed reality have been revealed along with the development of digital games and technological tools. The virtual world that emerged with digital games allows users to experience other world experiences without breaking away from the real world. While users, who have these experiences through digital games, extend their communications and ties on the virtual world, they may also get away from the concrete concepts brought by the real world. Communication takes place in a mediated manner, not face-to-face in these virtual environments. These digital games to which especially the young are addicted can make them asocial by breaking them away from the sociality of real life and get them away from reality by allowing them to establish virtual social worlds. In this study, the addiction caused by digital games and virtual reality will be discussed based on Baudrillard's theory of simulation and simulacras. In the study, it will be focused on how digital games have changed along with technology within the history, and the concept of game addiction and its effects will be examined.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the levels of digital game addiction and self-efficacy beliefs of children who do sports and who do not. In this study, which is designed according to quantitative research model, correlational research method is used. The universe of the research; There are 1200 students in the 10-14 age group who study at Atatürk Secondary School affiliated to Niğde Provincial Directorate of National Education in 2018-2019 academic year. The sample of the study was composed of 500 students (202 females, 233 males) who agreed to participate voluntarily (30 min. Digital games each day). As data collection tools; "Secondary School Self-Efficacy Scale" and "Digital Game Addiction Scale for Children" were used. In the analysis of data, paired comparisons and correlation analyzes were done by using SPSS 24. Package program. As a result of the binary comparison analysis, there was a difference between the groups. Similarly, correlations between scale scores were found in the correlation analyzes. ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı, spor yapan ve yapmayan çocukların dijital oyun bağımlılık düzeyleri ile öz yeterlilik inanç düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Nicel araştırma modeline göre tasarlanan bu çalışmada korelasyonel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştıranın evrenini; Niğde İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı Atatürk Ortaokulu’nda 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında öğrenim gören, 10-14 yaş grubu 1200 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini (her gün en az 30 dk. dijital oyun oynayan) araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılmayı kabul eden, 500 öğrenci (202 kadın, 233 erkek) oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama araçları olarak “Ortaokul Öz-Yeterlik Ölçeği ile Çocuklar İçin Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 24. Paket program kullanılarak veri setine ilişkin ikili karşılaştırmalar ve korelasyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Yapılan ikili karşılaştırma analizleri sonucunda gruplar arasında fark olduğu görülmüştür. Benzer şekilde yapılan korelasyon analizlerinde de ölçek puanları arasında ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; günümüzün önemli bir sorunu haline gelmiş olan dijital oyun bağımlılığında sporun ve bireylerin öz yeterlik inançlarının önemli bir faktör olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Today, rapidly-developing technology affects an individual’s life in many fields and it is also effective on games which are the basic need of children. Digital games do not only affect the children’s life affirmatively, they also cause lots of negativities. One of these negativities is the digital game addiction. Especially, in puberty, when children experience social and emotional stressful period, children’s becoming a game addicted can affect their development negatively. From this perspective, determination of factors which are influential in children’s becoming digital game addicted can provide resources for experts and next studies. Aim of this study is to detect whether some variables are influential on the digital game addiction level of children who play digital game and study in secondary school. In the study quantitative research method and criterion sampling which is one of the study group sampling methods were used. The study involves 134 students who study in two different secondary schools in Erzincan and play digital games. In order to determine the demographic characteristics of the children, General Information Form developed by the researcher was applied and also Digital Game Addiction Scale which was developed by Hazar and Hazar (2017) was employed to determine the digital game addiction level of the children. As a result of the study it was found that age and mother’s playing digital game variables had an influence on the digital game addiction level of children but other variables; gender, number of sibling, educational background of father and mother, father’s playing digital game and type of digital game were not influential on digital game addiction level of children.

Günümüzde hızla gelişen teknoloji, bireyin birçok alanda yaşamını şekillendirdiği gibi, çocukların temel ihtiyacı olan oyunlar üzerinde de etkili olmuştur. Dijital oyunlar, çocuğun yaşamına sadece olumlu yönde etki etmemiş, birçok olumsuzluğu da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu olumsuzluklardan birisi de dijital oyun bağımlılığıdır. Özellikle çocukların sosyal ve duygusal açıdan bunalımlı bir dönem yaşadığı ergenlik çağlarında, oyun bağımlısı olması, çocuğun gelişimini olumsuz yönde etkileyebilir. Bu açıdan bakıldığında bu çağ çocuklarının dijital oyun bağımlısı olmasında etkili olan faktörlerin belirlenmesi, konu ile ilgili çalışan uzmanlara ve yapılacak çalışmalar kaynak oluşturabilecektir. Araştırmanın amacı, dijital oyun oynayan ortaokulda öğrenim gören çocukların dijital oyun bağımlılık düzeyleri üzerinde çeşitli değişkenlerin etkili olup olmadığını saptamaktır. The aim of this study was to investigate the digital game addiction levels of the high school students, according to some variables such as sports participation, gender, place of accommodation and level of income.The sample group comprises 931 high school students (508, %54,6 female and 423, %45,4 male) from several villages, districts and Kutahya city center (a town in the west part of Turkey with the population of 325.000). They participated to the study voluntarily. In addition to personal information from prepared by the researcher, the game addiction scale developed by Lemmens et al. (2009) and adapted to Turkish by Irmak and Erdogan (2015) was used as a data gathering tool. It is a five point Likert type scale and has one factor and seven items. In order to evaluate the results the descriptive statistical methods (percentage (%), frequency (f) and t-test, one-way ANOVA) were used.As a result, the significant difference was determined regarding digital game addiction [t (931)=-3,76; p=0,00] between the students who participate to the sports activities and who do not. So, the non-participant students found more game addicted. According to the gender, male students were determined more addicted than females [t (931)=9,45; p=0,00]. No significant difference was determined in terms of the place where the students lived (p=0,56, p>0,05). Finally, the significant difference was determined in terms of the income levels, [f (931)=3,07; p=0,01] on behalf of the students who had good income level. They found more addicted.

The aim of this study is to determine the validity and reliability of the Digital Game Addiction Scale for Children. The sample group with a mean age of 12 consisted of 364 persons, 152 female (42%) and 212 male (58%). Explanatory factor analysis (AFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (DFA) were performed to ensure the validity of the scale. In the explanatory factor analysis, the items are aggregated under four factors and explain 47.953 of the total variance. The first sub-factor consists of 7th, 10th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 30th, the second sub-factor consists of 1st, 3rd, 16th, 22nd, 24th, 28th, 31st, the third sub-factor consists of 17th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, the fourth sub-factor consist of 2nd, 4th, 13th,14th items. Within the scope of item analysis, the mean scores of the sub 27% (individuals with high levels of measured characteristics) of the group and the top 27% (individuals with low levels of measured characteristics) of the group was examined by conducting independent t-test. Confirmatory factor analysis results have been found to meet standard compliance indices. The reliability of the instrument was tested by the Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient and the Test-retest method. When the reliability analysis results are taken into account, it can be said that the scale is a reliable measuring tool. ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı; “Çocuklar İçin Dijital Oyun Bağımlılığı Ölçeği” nin geçerlik ve güvenirliğini tespit etmektir. 152’si kız (%42), 212’ si erkek (%58) toplam 364 kişilik çalışma gurubunun yaş ortalaması 12’dir. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini sağlamak amacıyla açımlayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) yapılmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizinde maddeler dört faktör altında toplanmış ve toplam varyansın 47.953’ ünü açıklamaktadır. Birinci alt faktör 7.,10.,12.,15.,19.,20.,30., ikinci alt faktör 1.,3.,16.,22.,24.,28.,31., üçüncü alt faktör 17.,21.,23.,25.,27.,29., dördüncü alt faktör 2.,4.,13.,14., maddelerden oluşmuştur. Ölçek maddelerinin ayırt ediciliğini belirlemek amacıyla madde analizi kapsamında, toplam ölçek puanına göre belirlenen alt % 27 ve üst % 27 gruplarının ortalama puanları bağımsız t-testi yapılarak incelenmiştir. Yapılan analizlerde ölçekte yer alan maddelerin alt-üst grupların ayırt edilmesinde oldukça güvenilir sonuçlar verdiği söylenebilir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçlarının standart uyum indekslerini karşıladığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Ölçme aracının güvenirliği, Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlık katsayısı ve Test-tekrar test yöntemi ile test edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, yapılan analizler, “ÇİDOBÖ’ nün çocukların dijital oyun bağımlılık durumunu ölçme ve değerlendirmede geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.
