This article presents essays on childhood obesity. Article topics include the health education theory, a practice guide on childhood obesity prevention, and the promotion of child and adolescent health and well-being. Additionally, the involvement of schools in the process of weight management, eating disorders and dieting among children, how to involve parents, teachers, community members, and school staff in preventative programs, as well as physical activity and exercise goals, are also discussed. School-based programs designed to reduce teasing and unhealthy-weight behaviors are presented, as well as intervention techniques to increase physical activity in high school and middle school students.
