- Abstract
This book presents an annotated listing of the Young Adult Library Services Association's "Best Books for Young Adults" (BBYA) from 1966-99. Selected books are listed in topical bibliographies under the following subjects: Too Good To Miss; Adventure; Animals; Family; Fantasy; Friendship; Historical Fiction; The Holocaust; Humor; Mystery; Not Quite Human; Other Lives; Quest; Romance; Short Takes; Sports; Starting Over; Survival; Suspense; War; Westerns; The Writing Life; and Youth In Trouble. A complete listing of all 1,800 books is then provided with annotations, organized by author. A list of author and title for each book, organized by year, is included, as well as a list of the "Best of the Best" by preconference. Also included are a description of how the books are selected, an essay entitled "Trends in Young Adult Publishing," BBYA policies and procedures, and an index. (MES)
