The article presents the response of tea framers in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey on the possibility of growing bamboo as an alternative crop. The survey reveals that only 18.3 percent of the farmers were willing to try growing bamboo as an alternative crop after providing them with the information on bamboo. The potential of bamboo was an information not known to 49.6 percent of the respondents. Tea farming was not a satisfying farming practice to 77.6 percent of the respondents. The consideration to grow an alternative crop was revealed in 76.8 percent of the respondents' answers.
