The distributive power of the arithmetic operators: multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction, gives the arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) its unique ability to find the global optimum for optimization problems used to test its performance. Several other mathematical operators exist with the same or better distributive properties, which can be exploited to enhance the performance of the newly proposed AOA. In this paper, we propose an improved version of the AOA called nAOA algorithm, which uses the high-density values that the natural logarithm and exponential operators can generate, to enhance the exploratory ability of the AOA. The addition and subtraction operators carry out the exploitation. The candidate solutions are initialized using the beta distribution, and the random variables and adaptations used in the algorithm have beta distribution. We test the performance of the proposed nAOA with 30 benchmark functions (20 classical and 10 composite test functions) and three engineering design benchmarks. The performance of nAOA is compared with the original AOA and nine other state-of-the-art algorithms. The intent is to demonstrate that the processes of learning and of problem solving incorporate an elaborate interplay between operational and structural conceptualizations of the same mathematical ideas. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are useful tools for many applications. However, autonomous path planning for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in unfamiliar environments is a challenging problem when facing a series of problems such as poor consistency, high influence by the native controller of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. In this paper, we investigate reinforcement learning-based autonomous local path planning methods for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles with high autonomous decision-making capability and locally high portability. We propose an autonomous local path planning algorithm based on the TD3 strategy to solve the problem of local obstacle avoidance and path planning in unfamiliar environments using autonomous decision-making of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The simulation results on Gazebo show that our method can effectively realize the autonomous local path planning task for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, the success rate of path planning with our method can reach 93% under the interference of no obstacles, and 92% in the environment with obstacles. Raven's Progressive Matrices (RPM) is highly correlated with human intelligence, and it has been widely used to measure the abstract reasoning ability of humans. In this paper, to study the abstract reasoning capability of deep neural networks, we propose the first unsupervised learning method for solving RPM problems. Since the ground truth labels are not allowed, we design a pseudo target based on the prior constraints of the RPM formulation to approximate the ground-truth label, which effectively converts the unsupervised learning strategy into a supervised one. However, the correct answer is wrongly labelled by the pseudo target, and thus the noisy contrast will lead to inaccurate model training. To alleviate this issue, we propose to improve the model performance with negative answers. Moreover, we develop a decentralization method to adapt the feature representation to different RPM problems. Extensive experiments on three datasets demonstrate that our method even outperforms some of the supervised approaches. Our code is available at https://github.com/visiontao/ncd.

Allowing members of the crowd to propose novel microtasks for one another is an effective way to combine the efficiencies of traditional microtask work with the inventiveness and hypothesis generation potential of human workers. However, microtask proposal leads to a growing set of tasks that may overwhelm limited crowdsourcer resources. Crowdsourcers can employ methods to utilize their resources efficiently, but algorithmic approaches to efficient crowdsourcing generally require a fixed task set of known size. In this paper, we introduce cost forecasting as a means for a crowdsourcer to use efficient crowdsourcing algorithms with a growing set of microtasks. Cost forecasting allows the crowdsourcer to decide between eliciting new tasks from the crowd or receiving responses to existing tasks based on whether or not new tasks will cost less to complete than existing tasks, efficiently balancing resources as crowdsourcing occurs. Experiments with real and synthetic crowdsourcing data show that cost forecasting leads to improved accuracy. This paper proposes a predictive power control strategy for the three‐phase, six‐switch Vienna rectifier without grid voltage sensors to reduce the hardware cost and complexity of a high‐power PWM rectifier system. Firstly, an algorithm for calculating the AC‐side voltage in the αβ coordinate system is derived according to the operating principle of the Vienna rectifier, and a voltage observer is constructed by combining a second‐order low‐pass filter to estimate the grid voltage. Secondly, a soft start method is designed to solve the problem that the rectifier is prone to inrush current when it is started. Furthermore, the control method of grid voltage sensorless is combined with predictive power control with good dynamic characteristics and simple parameter settings to form the control strategy proposed in this paper. Finally, simulation analysis and experimental verification are carried out on the proposed control strategy. Simulation and experimental results show that the grid voltage estimation has high accuracy, a good surge current suppression effect, unit power factor operation, low input current harmonic content, and good dynamic and steady‐state performance. The adoption of blockchain platforms to bolster the security of Internet of Things (IoT) systems has attracted significant attention in recent years. Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive and systematic survey papers in the literature addressing these platforms. This paper discusses six of the most popular emerging blockchain platforms adopted by IoT systems and analyses their usage in state-of-the-art works to solve security problems. The platform was compared in terms of security features and other requirements. Findings from the study reveal that most blockchain components contribute directly or indirectly to IoT security. Blockchain platform components such as cryptography, consensus mechanism, and hashing are common ways that security is achieved in all blockchain platform for IoT. Technologies like Interplanetary File System (IPFS) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) can further enhance data and communication security when used alongside blockchain. To enhance the applicability of blockchain in resource-constrained IoT environments, future research should focus on refining cryptographic algorithms and consensus mechanisms to optimise performance and security. In autonomous driving, the fusion of multiple sensors is considered essential to improve the accuracy and safety of 3D object detection. Currently, a fusion scheme combining low-cost cameras with highly robust radars can counteract the performance degradation caused by harsh environments. In this paper, we propose the IRBEVF-Q model, which mainly consists of BEV (Bird's Eye View) fusion coding module and an object decoder module.The BEV fusion coding module solves the problem of unified representation of different modal information by fusing the image and radar features through 3D spatial reference points as a medium. The query in the object decoder, as a core component, plays an important role in detection. In this paper, Heat Map-Guided Query Initialization (HGQI) and Dynamic Position Encoding (DPE) are proposed in query construction to increase the a priori information of the query. The Auxiliary Noise Query (ANQ) then helps to stabilize the matching. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed fusion model IRBEVF-Q achieves an NDS of 0.575 and a mAP of 0.476 on the nuScenes test set. DNA computing, as one of potential means to solve complicated computational problems, is a new field of interdisciplinary research, including computational mathematics, parallel algorithms, bioinformatics. Capacitated vehicle routing problem is one of famous NP-hard problems, which includes determining the path of a group same vehicles serving a set of clients, while minimizing the total transportation cost. Based on the bio-heuristic computing model and DNA molecular manipulations, parallel biocomputing algorithms for solving capacitated vehicle routing problem are proposed in this paper. We appropriately use different biological chains to mean vertices, edges, weights, and adopt appropriate biological operations to search the solutions of the problem with O(n 2 ) time complexity. At present, there are many semantic segmentation algorithms with excellent performance for intelligent driving vehicles, but most of them only work well on scenes with good illumination. In order to solve the problem of scene segmentation under low illumination, this paper proposes a novel semantic segmentation algorithm that combines visible and infrared images. In this algorithm, two parallel encoders are designed as the input of the images, and the decoder divides the fused images output from the encoder. The model is based on ResNet algorithm, and the residual attention module is used in each branch to mine and enhance the spatial features of multilevel channels to extract images information. Experiments are carried out on publicly available thermal infrared and visible datasets. Artificial intelligence is an enabling technology for autonomous surface vehicles, with methods such as evolutionary algorithms, artificial potential fields, fast marching methods, and many others becoming increasingly popular for solving problems such as path planning and collision avoidance. However, there currently is no unified way to evaluate the performance of different algorithms, for example with regard to safety or risk. This paper is a step in that direction and offers a comparative study of current state-of-the art path planning and collision avoidance algorithms for autonomous surface vehicles. Across 45 selected papers, we compare important performance properties of the proposed algorithms related to the vessel and the environment it is operating in. We also analyse how safety is incorporated, and what components constitute the objective function in these algorithms. Finally, we focus on comparing advantages and limitations of the 45 analysed papers. In industry, the task of defect classification and defect localization is an important part of defect detection system. However, existing studies only focus on one task and it is difficult to ensure the accuracy of both tasks. This paper proposes a defect detection system based on improved Yolo_v4, which greatly improves the detection ability of minor defects. For K_Means algorithm clustering prianchors question with strong subjectivity, the paper proposes the Density Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) algorithm to determine the number of Anchors. To solve the problem of low detection rate of small targets caused by insufficient reuse rate of low-level features in CSPDarknet53 feature extraction network, this paper proposes an ECA-DenseNet-BC-121 feature extraction network to improve it. And the Dual Channel Feature Enhancement (DCFE) module is proposed to improve the local information loss and gradient propagation obstruction caused by quad chain convolution in PANet networks to improve the robustness of the model. The experimental results on the fabric surface defect detection datasets show that the mAP of the improved Yolo_v4 is 98.97%, which is 7.67% higher than SSD, 3.75% higher than Faster_RCNN, 10.82% higher than Yolo_v4 tiny, and 5.35% higher than Yolo_v4, and the detection speed reaches 39.4 fps. In order to solve the problem of lack of detail information and serious damage to the texture of the light source area when the dark channel prior dehazing algorithm processes fog images at night, this paper proposes a dehazing algorithm for nighttime fog images using the dark‐state point light source model. By introducing the dark state point light source model, the dark channel credibility weight factor and the pseudo dehazing image, combined with the nighttime image imaging model, the improved transmittance distribution is obtained, and the fog image at night is dehazed. The experimental results show that the image processed by the algorithm in this paper has little loss of texture details, high image definition, and the contrast between the light and dark of the image is better stretched, which can effectively dehaze the fog image at night. Balancing convergence and diversity has become a key point especially in many-objective optimization where the large numbers of objectives pose many challenges to the evolutionary algorithms. In this paper, an opposition-based evolutionary algorithm with the adaptive clustering mechanism is proposed for solving the complex optimization problem. In particular, opposition-based learning is integrated in the proposed algorithm to initialize the solution, and the nondominated sorting scheme with a new adaptive clustering mechanism is adopted in the environmental selection phase to ensure both convergence and diversity. The proposed method is compared with other nine evolutionary algorithms on a number of test problems with up to fifteen objectives, which verify the best performance of the proposed algorithm. Also, the algorithm is applied to a variety of multiobjective engineering optimization problems. The experimental results have shown the competitiveness and effectiveness of our proposed algorithm in solving challenging real-world problems.

In the carrier-based coverage repair problem, a single mobile robot replaces damaged sensors by picking up spare ones in the region of interest or carrying them from a base station in wireless sensor and robot networks. The objective is to find the shortest path of the robot. The problem is an extension of the traveling salesman problem (TSP). Thus, it is also called the one-commodity traveling salesman problem with selective pickup and delivery (1-TSP-SELPD). In order to solve this problem in a larger sensor distribution scenario more efficiently, we propose a two-stage approach in this paper. In the first stage, the mature and effective Lin-Kernighan-Helsgaun (LKH) algorithm is used to form a Hamiltonian cycle for all delivery nodes, which is regarded as a heuristic for the second stage. In the second stage, elliptical regions are set for selecting pickup nodes' and an edge-ordered list (candidate edge list, CEL) is constructed to provide major axes for the ellipses. The process of selecting pickup nodes and constructing the CEL is repeated until all the delivery nodes are visited. The final CEL stores a feasible solution. To update it, three operations-expansion, extension, and constriction-are applied to the CEL. The experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the computing time and achieves better results in higher-dimensional problems, which may facilitate the provision of solutions for more complicated sensor networks and can contribute to the development of effective and efficient algorithms for the one-commodity pickup-and-delivery traveling salesman problem (1-PDTSP)., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.

This paper presents a grammatical evolution (GE)-based methodology to automatically design third generation artificial neural networks (ANNs), also known as spiking neural networks (SNNs), for solving supervised classification problems. The proposal performs the SNN design by exploring the search space of three-layered feedforward topologies with configured synaptic connections (weights and delays) so that no explicit training is carried out. Besides, the designed SNNs have partial connections between input and hidden layers which may contribute to avoid redundancies and reduce the dimensionality of input feature vectors. The proposal was tested on several well-known benchmark datasets from the UCI repository and statistically compared against a similar design methodology for second generation ANNs and an adapted version of that methodology for SNNs; also, the results of the two methodologies and the proposed one were improved by changing the fitness function in the design process. The proposed methodology shows competitive and consistent results, and the statistical tests support the conclusion that the designs produced by the proposal perform better than those produced by other methodologies.

Teaching which does not in any significant way address the genesis of mathematical ideas hides the fact that mathematics is created by people; that it involves intuition, exploring, conjecturing, and reasoning; and that it is purposeful. Such teaching can give students appearance that much of mathematics is very arbitrary; it just falls from the sky and lands in textbooks. (Author)

To solve the problem of inaccurate user phase identification, the paper proposes a new algorithm based on improved cloud model and adaptive segmented voltage algorithm. Firstly, the new algorithm uses improved cloud model to calculate the digital features of station area and users' voltage sequences quickly. Secondly, the paper uses the adaptive segmentation voltage algorithm to divide the full voltage sequences into three parts automatically to add local features into phase identification. Finally, the paper calculates cosine similarity between each segmented voltage cloud model to identify users' voltage phase. The analysis based on station data and field verification shows that the new algorithm has not only improved the calculation efficiency by 41% compared with traditional user phase identification algorithm, but also increased the difference in identification results between different phases by 1000 times. In the final result, the accuracy of the new algorithm is 95%. The new algorithm has more obvious differentiation and higher accuracy. The analysis results based on the actual engineering data also prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the new user phase identification algorithm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The vehicle routing problem (VRP) has a wide range of applications in the field of logistics distribution. In order to reduce the cost of logistics distribution, the distance-constrained and capacitated VRP with split deliveries by order (DCVRPSDO) was studied. We show that the customer demand, which can't be split in the classical VRP model, can only be discrete split deliveries by order. A model of double objective programming is constructed by taking the minimum number of vehicles used and minimum vehicle traveling cost as the first and the second objective, respectively. This approach contains a series of constraints, such as single depot, single vehicle type, distance-constrained and load capacity limit, split delivery by order, etc. DCVRPSDO is a new type of VRP. A new tabu search algorithm is designed to solve the problem and the examples testing show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. This paper focuses on constructing a double objective mathematical programming model for DCVRPSDO and designing an adaptive tabu search algorithm (ATSA) with good performance to solving the problem. The performance of the ATSA is improved by adding some strategies into the search process, including: (a) a strategy of discrete split deliveries by order is used to split the customer demand; (b) a multi-neighborhood structure is designed to enhance the ability of global optimization;, ((c) two levels of evaluation objectives are set to select the current solution and the best solution; (d) a discriminating strategy of that the best solution must be feasible and the current solution can accept some infeasible solution, helps to balance the performance of the solution and the diversity of the neighborhood solution; (e) an adaptive penalty mechanism will help the candidate solution be closer to the neighborhood of feasible solution; (f) a strategy of tabu releasing is used to transfer the current solution into a new neighborhood of the better solution.)

A fundamental assumption in addressing real-world problems is acknowledging the presence of uncertainty and dynamism. Dismissing these factors can lead to the formulation of an optimal solution for an entirely different problem. This paper presents a novel variant of the capacitated dispersion problem (CDP) referred to as the stochastic and non-static CDP. The main objective of this problem is to strategically position facilities to achieve maximum dispersion while meeting the capacity demand constraint. The proposed approach combines stochastic and non-static elements, introducing a new paradigm to address the problem. This innovation allows us to consider more realistic and flexible environments. To solve this challenging problem, a novel sim-learnheuristic algorithm is proposed. This algorithm combines a biased-randomized metaheuristic (optimization component) with a simulation component (to model the uncertainty) and a machine learning component (to model non-static behavior). The non-static part works by using black box and white box mechanisms to learn the uncertainty with some related facilities’ variables. Based on an extended set of traditional benchmarks for the CDP, a series of computational experiments were carried out. Remote Sensing Image Object Detection (RSIOD) faces the challenges of multi-scale objects, dense overlap of objects and uneven data distribution in practical applications. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a YOLO-ACPHD RSIOD algorithm. The algorithm adopts Adaptive Condition Awareness Technology (ACAT), which can dynamically adjust the parameters of the convolution kernel, so as to adapt to the objects of different scales and positions. Compared with the traditional fixed convolution kernel, this dynamic adjustment can better adapt to the diversity of scale, direction and shape of the object, thus improving the accuracy and robustness of Object Detection (OD). In addition, a High-Dimensional Decoupling Technology (HDDT) is used to reduce the amount of calculation to 1/N by performing deep convolution on the input data and then performing spatial convolution on each channel. When dealing with large-scale Remote Sensing Image (RSI) data, this reduction in computation can significantly improve the efficiency of the algorithm and accelerate the speed of OD, so as to better adapt to the needs of practical application scenarios. Through the experimental verification of the RSOD RSI data set, the YOLO-ACPHD model in this paper shows very satisfactory performance. The F1 value reaches 0.99, the Precision value reaches 1, the Precision-Recall value reaches 0.994, the Recall value reaches 1, and the mAP value reaches 99.36 % , which indicates that the model shows the highest level in the accuracy and comprehensiveness of OD. Path planning is one of the core issues in the autonomous navigation of an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV), as the accuracy of the results directly affects the safety of the USV. Hence, this paper proposes a USV path planning algorithm that integrates an improved Particle Swarm Optimisation (PSO) algorithm with a Dynamic Window Approach (DWA). Firstly, in order to advance the solution accuracy and convergence speed of the PSO algorithm, a nonlinear decreasing inertia weight and adaptive learning factors are introduced. Secondly, in order to solve the problem of long path and path non-smoothness, the fitness function of PSO is modified to consider both path length and path smoothness. Finally, the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) are utilised to achieve dynamic obstacle avoidance while complying with maritime practices. As blockchain technology advances, cross-chain interoperability has become a crucial requirement for achieving seamless interaction among multiple chains. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a scholarly approach to the development of a cross-chain-secure transmission technique, incorporating the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and the SM algorithm, which is based on trusted roots. This research paper elaborates on the design and implementation of the cross-chain-secure transmission technique based on TPM and the SM algorithm, emphasizing the academic rigor necessary for addressing the security requirements of cross-chain interactions. The research shows that compared with the previous method, the throughput of production capacity is not significantly different from that before and after adding the network delay, and the success rate of preventing attacks is increased by 46.9% by simulating related attacks. A bullet point cloud registration algorithm with a low overlap rate based on line feature detection was proposed to solve the problem of the difficulty and low efficiency of point cloud registration due to the low overlap rate among point clouds sampled by the bullet model. In this paper, voxel downsampling is used to remove some noise points and outliers from the bullet point cloud and applied to the specified resolution to reduce the calculation cost. The bullet point cloud is transformed to a better initial position by fitting the central axis with the geometrical features of the bullet. Then, the direction vector of the bullet linear features is obtained by using an icosahedral fitting discrete Hough transform to simplify the parameter space of the search transformation. Finally, the optimal rotation angle is searched for in the parameter space by using the improved Cuckoo algorithm to realize the registration of the bullet point cloud with a low overlap rate. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed registration method can accurately register bullet point clouds of different densities with a low overlap rate. Compared with the commonly used ICP, GICP, and TRICP algorithms, the registration error of the proposed algorithm is reduced by 92.68% on average when the overlap rate is 52.85%. The registration error is reduced by 98.87% in the case of a 41.36% overlap rate, by 99.52% in the case of a 33.02% overlap rate, and by 98.89% in the case of a 22.75% overlap rate. To solve the control problem of time-varying state-scale nonlinear systems whose initial state is not affected by settling time, fixed-time convergence algorithms are proposed for first-order systems and higher-order systems in this paper. First, a scalar model is used to illustrate how the time-varying feedback parameter can guarantee that the system achieves asymptotic stability while achieving finite-time convergence, and it is proved that the settling time obtained in this paper is only related to the prescribed boundary. This allows us to design the settling time with an appropriate parameter based on the prescribed boundary. To exhibit the effectiveness and extensibility of the proposed algorithm for first-order scalar systems, the results are subsequently extended to general higher-order systems based on the backstepping method. By introducing numerical simulation results, this paper verifies that the proposed algorithm will make the system achieve asymptotic stability and its output can converge to a given boundary, regardless of the system's initial states. Disjoint paths are defined as paths between the source and destination nodes where the intermediate nodes in any two paths are disjoint. They are helpful in fault-tolerance routing and securing message distribution in the network. Several research papers were proposed to solve the problem of finding disjoint paths for a variety of interconnection networks such as Hypercube, Generalized Hypercube, Mesh, Torus, Gaussian, Eisenstein–Jacobi, and many other topologies. In this research, we have developed a general algorithm that constructs maximal node-to-node disjoint paths for symmetric networks where all paths are shortest. The algorithm presented in this paper outperforms other algorithms in finding not only the disjoint paths but shortest and maximal disjoint paths with a complexity of O (n 2) . It is difficult to visually detect internal defects in a large transformer with a metal closure. For convenient internal inspection, a micro-robot was adopted, and an inspection method based on an image-enhancement algorithm and an improved deep-learning network was proposed in this paper. Considering the dim environment inside the transformer and the problems of irregular imaging distance and fluctuating supplementary light conditions during image acquisition with the internal-inspection robot, an improved MSRCR algorithm for image enhancement was proposed. It could analyze the local contrast of the image and enhance the details on multiple scales. At the same time, a white-balance algorithm was introduced to enhance the contrast and brightness and solve the problems of overexposure and color distortion. To improve the target recognition performance of complex carbon-trace defects, the SimAM mechanism was incorporated into the Backbone network of the YOLOv8 model to enhance the extraction of carbon-trace features. Meanwhile, the DyHead dynamic detection Head framework was constructed at the output of the YOLOv8 model to improve the perception of local carbon traces with different sizes. To improve the defect target recognition speed of the transformer-inspection robot, a pruning operation was carried out on the YOLOv8 model to remove redundant parameters, realize model lightness, and improve detection efficiency. To verify the effectiveness of the improved algorithm, the detection model was trained and validated with the carbon-trace dataset. The results showed that the MSH-YOLOv8 algorithm achieved an accuracy of 91.80%, which was 3.4 percentage points higher compared to the original YOLOv8 algorithm, and had a significant advantage over other mainstream target-detection algorithms. Meanwhile, the FPS of the proposed algorithm was up to 99.2, indicating that the model computation and model complexity were successfully reduced, which meets the requirements for engineering applications of the transformer internal-inspection robot. This paper is devoted to the development of general algorithm for solving to the stability problem of anisotropic plates using the additional load discretization method. The study of the stability problem is relevant for all types of structural elements and machine parts, and its importance is especially increasing with respect to anisotropic thin plates. This is due to the fact that with the use of new structures and materials, the material intensity is reduced, the area of application of thin-walled systems with low stiffness, for which the danger of elastic loss of stability increases, and, therefore, the importance and relevance of the theory and methods of practical solution of problems of elastic stability of such structures increases. In many works, analytical expressions for determination of critical load are given. At present, the determination of critical loads causes great difficulties in their numerical determination. Therefore, the article presents the most effective numerical and analytical solution of this problem. As a rule, to solve stability problems of anisotropic plates, different representations of the bending deflection function in different rows are used. But the use of such representations is justified only under certain boundary conditions and under the condition of uniformly distributed load. The study described in this paper offers a way to overcome these difficulties, allowing the numerical values of critical forces to be determined without much difficulty. With increasing grid density, the accuracy of the critical load value increases rapidly and with an 8×8 grid, the deviation from the exact solution equal to is 1 %. From a practical point of view, the discovered mechanism of numerical realization of this problem allows to improve engineering design calculations of stability of anisotropic plates with different conditions on supports and with different loading. Since the performance of the spectral moment estimation algorithm commonly used in engineering degrades under the conditions of low SNR, this paper introduces the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) to the spectral moment estimation of weather signals based on the correlation of the signals of adjacent range cells. To solve the problem that the hidden layer nodes of ELM algorithm are difficult to be determined, the Bidirectional Extreme Learning Machine (B-ELM) algorithm is applied to achieve the high resolution of spectral moments. Firstly, to improve the SNR of the training samples, time-domain pulse signals are converted into weather power spectrum by Welch method. Then, the parameters of the B-ELM hidden layer nodes are directly calculated by backpropagation of network residuals. The model parameters are optimized according to the least-squares solution, where the optimal number of hidden layer nodes is determined adaptively. Finally, the optimized B-ELM model is employed for the spectral moment estimation of weather signals. The algorithm is validated to be fast and accurate for spectral moment estimation using the measured IDRA weather radar data and is easy to implement in engineering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Underwater acoustic channels often have to face the interference of impulsive noise, which is usually modeled by α-stable distribution in simulation experiments. To solve the problem of underwater acoustic channel estimation under impulsive noise, this paper proposes a convex combination–variable-step-size least mean p-norm algorithm. The algorithm incorporates a convex combination into the variable-step-size least mean p-norm algorithm and uses the convex combination of different convergence domains provided by changing the parameters of the Gaussian function to further improve the effect after convergence. The simulation results of channel estimation show that the convex combination–variable-step-size least mean p-norm algorithm provides a more stable, robust, and universal solution than the variable-step-size least mean p-norm algorithm.
