This article describes the use of nano-CuO and H2O2 to treat antibiotic wastewater. The amount of catalyst, the initial concentration of antibiotic wastewater, hydrogen peroxide dose, pH, temperature that affect degradation of antibiotic wastewater are studied. The results showed that adding nano-CuO significantly improved the oxidant effect of hydrogen peroxide. Nano-CuO presented good catalytic activity. Increasing the amount of catalyst, hydrogen peroxide dosage, pH and temperature promoted decomposition of antibiotic wastewater. Greater than 80% COD removal from antibiotic wastewater was achieved via using nano-CuO and H2O2. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
