[EN] The Jorge Oteiza Foundation Museum in Alzuza (Navarra, Spain) was designed by the architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza, with the sculptor Jorge Oteiza intervening in the architectural decisions at particular moments. The building marked the conclusion of a series of collaborations between them, beginning in the early 1950s, marked by an intense convergence between art and architecture. The building contains and interacts with the artistic works in a powerful way, but at the same time with great care and awareness, demonstrating the extent to which Sáenz de Oíza understood the sculptural work of Oteiza. This article explores the connection between the museum (2003) and the artistic experiments of the sculptor in pieces called “Light Wall” (1956), made using glass models and collages whose main references are the Suprematist paintings of Malevich. Sáenz de Oíza made use of Oteiza’s artistic concept, which took shape in the fabric of the architecture. Le Corbusier’s chapel in Ronchamp serves as a bridge between their ideas, a reference found in Oteiza’s sculptural experiments and in his text Experimental Proposal (1957) and in the architecture proposed by Sáenz de Oíza for the museum, [ES] La Fundación Museo Jorge Oteiza en Alzuza (Navarra, España) es obra del arquitecto Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza en la que, en ciertos momentos, el escultor Jorge Oteiza intervino en las decisiones arquitectónicas. Este edificio concluye una serie de colaboraciones entre ambos, que se iniciaron en los primeros años cincuenta, en las que arte y arquitectura confluyen con gran intensidad. El contenedor arquitectónico acoge e interacciona con las piezas artísticas de una forma potente, pero, al mismo tiempo, con gran cuidado y una consciente intención que demuestran cómo Sáenz de Oíza comprendía la obra escultórica de Oteiza. En el artículo se establece la conexión entre el Museo (2003) y los experimentos plásticos del escultor en su piezas denominadas “Pared luz” (1956), realizadas mediante maquetas de vidrio y collages y que tienen como referencia las pinturas suprematistas de Malévich. Sáenz de Oíza recurre a este concepto plástico de Oteiza que toma cuerpo en la propia materialidad de la arquitectura. Como puente entre las ideas de ambos se establece la Capilla de Ronchamp de Le Corbusier, referencia tanto en los experimentos escultóricos oteizianos y su texto Propósito Experimental (1957) como en la arquitectura propuesta por Sáenz de Oíza para el Museo.
