The article focuses on an exhibition by artist Howardena Pindell at the Sragow Gallery in SoHo, New York. The show, which features thirtyfour of the artist's works, shows the breadth and range of Pindell's art, as well as a hint of the evolution of the artist. Rarely do art lovers have an opportunity to see this type of diversity of an artist's work while he or she is still alive. And alive Pindell is, with no fewer than thirteen of works in the show having been made in the last four years. This is not work that hits the viewer over the head with its intent; rather, Pindell's work slowly reveals itself to the patient admirer, not unlike a rose that slowly blossoms in a garden.
