Synalpheus biunguiculatus (Stimpson, 1860) Material examined. For this species, samples from Zacatoso (17 ° 39´N, 101 ° 37´W), in the Ixtapa region were numerous, with six males (ICMyL MAZ 9062 A), five females (ICMyL MAZ 9062 B), 12 juveniles (ICMyL MAZ 9062 C), and four ovigerous females (ICMyL MAZ 9062 D). Remarks. It is a common species on corals and is widespread in the Gulf of California (Wicksten 1983) in Bahía Santiago and in the Huatulco region (Hermoso 1999). In our study, the species was surveyed in several sites from the Islas Marietas to the Huatulco region, associated with corals.

Harpiliopsis depressa (Stimpson, 1860) Material examined. This species was recorded by visual census in all sampled sites. Vouchers also were collected in almost every site from the Islas Marietas, one male (ICMyL MAZ 9021) to the Huatulco region at El Maguey (15 ° 43´N, 95 °08´W), six males (ICMyL MAZ 9087 A) and two females (ICMyL MAZ 9087 B). Remarks. Previous records from Mexican waters were made at the Loreto region by Hernández et al. (2009). Because this species is symbiotic to Pocillopora corals, this species has a wide distribution along the Indo-Pacific, Central America, and Galápagos Islands (Wicksten & Hendrickx 2003). Previous records in Mexican waters south of the Gulf of California were done by Hermoso (1999) at the Huatulco region. For our study, this species was recorded in all the sampled sites and confirms its presence throughout the Mexican Pacific coast.

Hapalocarcinus marsupialis Stimpson, 1859 Material examined. This species was recorded only by collected specimens because of its cryptic behavior. One ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9306) from Ixtapa region; one ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9080) from El Maguey. Remarks. This species is considered symbiotic to corals and has a wide distribution in the Indo-Pacific, Central Pacific, and Eastern Pacific (see Pereyra 1998). In Mexican tropical waters out of the Gulf, there were no records, so our study closes a gap in its distribution and confirms the presence of H. marsupialis in the study area. The new range for Mexican waters is in the Huatulco region, about 1,700 km south of the previous data. This species occupies crevices in coral branches, so if is not easy to record by surveys, and our records were possible because of our collection of corals and picked out of the coral branches. Only ovigerous females were collected.

Calcinus californiensis Bouvier, 1898 Material examined. Six males (ICMyL MAZ 9038 A) form Islas Marietas and one female from the Huatulco region (ICMyL MAZ 9055). Remarks. The distribution of this species has been from the Gulf of California to the Acapulco region and the west coast of the Baja California peninsula (Brusca 1980). There is a sibling species (C. explorator Boone 1930) whose distribution ranges from the central-south Mexican Pacific to the Galápagos Islands (Brusca 1980). However, the sampled material was determined as C. californiensis because of its color pattern of the walking legs (Brusca 1980). Our data, sampled south of the Acapulco region (its previous geographic limit), is the southernmost limit for the species in the Eastern Pacific, increasing its range about 350 km south.

Two males from Islas Marietas (ICMyL MAZ 9313), and one male (ICMyL MAZ 9312 A), and one ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9312 B) from La Boquita. Remarks. This crab ranges from the Gulf of California to the Galápagos Islands (Villalobos-Hiriart et al. 1989). There are some records at Zihuatanejo, Acapulco, and the Huatulco regions (see Pereyra 1998) and at Bahía Navidad (Álvarez del Castillo et al. 1993). This species occurs in several habitats and is frequently found on corals. We registered some individuals on coral heads.

Harpiliopsis spinigera Ortmann, 1890 Material examined. This species was common in most sites, in a way similar to its congener. We recorded one male from the Islas Marietas (ICMyL MAZ 9298 A) and one ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9298 C), with two females (ICMyL MAZ 9303 B) and two ovigerous females (ICMyL MAZ 9303 C) from Estacahuite (15 ° 39´N, 96 ° 28´W). Remarks. The presence of this species in Mexican waters was confirmed by Wicksten & Hernández (2000) in the southern Gulf of California. The northernmost sites were from the Loreto area by Hernández et al. (2009). Our study provides new sites along the Mexican coast as far south as Estacahuite, about 1,900 km from the previous records.

Trapezia digitalis Latreille, 1828 Material examined. Two males (ICMyL MAZ 9388 A) and three juveniles (ICMyL MAZ 9388 C) from Faro de Bucerías (18 ° 21´N, 103 ° 31´W), and one male (ICMyL MAZ 9385) from La Manzanilla. Remarks. This species is also symbiotic with Pocilloporid corals and has a wide geographic distribution in the Pacific Ocean and the Red Sea (Castro 1997). On the Mexican tropical Pacific coast, T. digitalis was recorded at Zihutanejo (see Pereyra 1998) and the Huatulco region (Ramírez-Luna et al. 2002). In our study we recorded this species in intermediate sites to those previously documented and apparently its abundance is lower than T. bidentata.

Alpheus lottini Guérin-Méneville, 1829 Material examined. This species was found at all sampled sites. Vouchers were collected from the Islas Marietas with two males (ICMyL MAZ 9028 A) and two females (ICMyL MAZ 9028 B); as well at Estacahuite, close to the Huatulco region, with one male (ICMyL MAZ 9037 A) and five females (ICMyL MAZ 9037 B). Remarks. This species is commensal on pocilloporid corals and has a wide distribution along the Pacific Ocean and Red Sea (Wicksten & Hendrickx 2003). In Mexican waters, A. lottini was noticed as far north as Isla Coronados (26 °06´N, 111 ° 16´W) in the Loreto area on Pocillopora corals (Hernández et al. 2009), in Bahía Santiago, and in the Huatulco region (Hermoso, 1999). In our study, the species was recorded from all sampled sites along the Mexican tropical Pacific coast.
