Incubation of conessine with Stachybotrys parvispora Hughes yielded Δ4-conenin-3-one and 11α-hydroxy-Δ4-conenin-3-one. Fermentation with Gloeosporium fructigenum f. americana Kr u ger yielded a mixture of 7α-hydroxy-conessine, 7-β-hydroxyconessine and 11α-hydroxyconessine.
