The article presents information on events and activities related to the Pacific Science Association. The 28th International Council for Science General Assembly was held in Shanghai and Suzhou, China from October 17-22, 2005. The Pacific Science Association was represented in this gathering by its executive secretary Burke Burnett. The General Assembly was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology. The General Assembly consisted of both plenary sessions and sessions for National Members and Scientific Union Members. Meanwhile, in the third quarter of 2005 the Biodiversity Task Force of the Pacific Science Association addressed regional bioinformatics issues through the development of the Pacific Biodiversity Information Forum that is aimed at the development of a Web site that includes information and photographic images of animas, plants and various Pacific Islands. In a related event, the Pacific Science Association has continued to revise and improve its Web site, www.pacificscience.org.
