The article reports on the expanding commitment of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) to grow the society in the context of a global profession. It relates that ASSE members have pursued many possibilities in fiscal year 2008, achieved many of their goals, and they are individually and collectively learned and progressed. The ASSE's ability to help members succeed is reflecting in their growth trend in fiscal year 2008, during which membership increased 2.8% to reach 32, 211 members. Moreover, it cites the effort of the ASSE members to advance its practitioners through technical excellence, social responsibility and safety, health and environmental excellence on their workplaces and communities.
