Abstract

The article presents a study focusing on the relation between genetic susceptibility to obesity and the risk of developing asthma in Hispanic Americans. Topics discussed include the presence of physician-diagnosed asthma in the patients under study; the calculation of a body mass index (BMI)-based genetic risk score (GRS); and the analysis of BMI-increasing alleles.
