Résumé Objectifs Cet article interroge l’impact de la pornographie sur la satisfaction sexuelle en fonction des profils d’attachement adulte. Méthode Cinq cent quatre-vingt-dix sujets (460 femmes, 130 hommes ; âge moyen : 24 ans), recrutés suivant les méthodes de snowball sampling , ont participé à une recherche en ligne investiguant leur consommation de pornographie, leur satisfaction sexuelle et leur profil d’attachement évalué à l’aide de l’Attachement Style Questionnaire. Principaux résultats Quarante pour cent des sujets ( n = 236) déclarent consommer de la pornographie. Les principaux médias utilisés sont les sites Internet, les films et la littérature. Les analyses bivariées montrent que les hommes tendent à davantage consommer de la pornographie que les femmes. La médiane du nombre de partenaire est plus importante pour les consommateurs de pornographie. Les analyses multivariées montrent (1) que les variables sociodémographique ne sont pas significativement associée à la satisfaction sexuelle, contrairement à l’attachement évitant qui a un impact négatif sur cette dernière ( B = –0,423, p < 0,001), (2) un effet de l’interaction entre les dimensions anxiété, évitement et consommation de pornographie sur la satisfaction sexuelle ( B = 0,868, p = 0,001). Dans l’ensemble, les résultats soulignent l’impact différentiel de la consommation de pornographie sur la satisfaction sexuelle en fonction des styles d’attachement : celui-ci est quasi nul chez les sécures ; négatif chez les individus anxieux ou évitants, positif chez les individus craintifs. Conclusion Il paraît désormais évident que la pornographie ne puisse être pathogène per se. Si elle peut être vectrice de souffrance et affecter la santé, ce n’est qu’en fonction des particularités de chacun. Des implications cliniques sont envisagées. Bivariate analyzes show that men tend to consume more pornography than women. The median number of partners is more important to consumers of pornography. In multivariate models, (1) the sociodemographic variables were not significantly associated with sexual satisfaction, unlike avoidant attachment that has a negative impact on sexual satisfaction ( B = –0.423, P < 0.001), (2) an effect of the interaction between anxiety dimensions, avoidance and viewing pornography on sexual satisfaction ( B = 0.868, P = 0.001) is found. Overall results highlight the differential impact of pornography consumption on sexual satisfaction according to attachment styles: the impact of pornography consumption on sexual satisfaction is almost zero in secures; negative in anxious or avoidant individuals, positive in fearful individuals. Conclusion It seems now clear that pornography is not be pathogenic per se. If it can be a vector of suffering and affect health, it depends on interindividuals psychological particularities.
