The article offers an examination of tenure and promotion (T&P) documents to determine how the value of editing work and collaborative editing work, is addressed. Topics covered include the suggestion that programs that value collaborative work also tend to value editorial work, the ways in which professional organizations might direct initiatives to challenge the hierarchy of scholarship, and how they might support the efforts and the careers of faculty in rhetoric and writing studies.
