The article discusses a study on the mammalian target of rapamycin complex (mTORC) pathway's role in vascular lesions associated with the antiphospholipid syndrome. Topics addressed include cell proliferation's nature in the vessels of patients, molecular pathways via which the mTORC pathway were manipulated by antiphospholipid antibodies, the effect of sirolimus in kidney transplant patients with the antiphospholipid syndrome, and mTORC function's pleiotropic effect in renal pathophysiology.
