The objective of this study was to evaluate the bioclimatic conditions of an experimental shed broiler Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri (UFVJM) in JK campus in Diamantina, MG. The assessment was made based on the measurement of environmental variables of air temperature, relative humidity, black globe temperature and air velocity within the facility, in 42-day trial. With the collected data we calculated the temperature and humidity index (THI), the black globe temperature and humidity index (BGTHI), the radiation heat load (RHL) and the enthalpy index (Hº). The performance was evaluated at 42 days of age the broiler chickens through the parameters live weight (LW), average daily gain weight (ADGW), feed intake (FI), feed conversion ratio (FCR) and production viability (PV). It was found that most of the trial period the temperature inside the shed was out of thermal comfort zone for birds and the relative humidity was found above the recommended limits, except in the 15:00. The THI was below the comfort zone until the second week, indicating that the birds were in cold stress in this period. The BGTHI at 21:00 was outside the recommended throughout the experimental period. RHL and the Hº also were below the recommended throughout the trial period, indicating little amount of heat in the facility where the animals were housed. The performance of the broiler chickens proved to be lower than expected. In this sense, it is recommended to make changes in the shed to: reduce air intake, decrease the volume of air to be heated in the first weeks of bird life and provide additional heating to the shed level in order to, provide the best thermal comfort and hence higher performance of broilers. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar as condições bioclimáticas de um galpão experimental de frangos de corte da Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM), no campus JK, em Diamantina, MG. A avaliação foi feita com base na mensuração das variáveis ambientais de temperatura do ar, umidade relativa do ar, temperatura de globo negro e velocidade do ar no interior da instalação, em 42 dias de período experimental. Com os dados coletados foram calculados os índices de temperatura e umidade (ITU), o índice de temperatura de globo negro e umidade (ITGU), a carga térmica de radiação (CTR) e o índice de entalpia (Hº). O desempenho foi avaliado aos 42 dias de idade dos frangos, através dos parâmetros de peso vivo (PV), ganho de peso médio diário (GPMD), consumo de ração (CR), conversão alimentar (CA) e viabilidade criatória (VB). Verificou-se que, na maior parte do período experimental, a temperatura no interior do galpão esteve fora da zona de conforto térmico para as aves e a umidade relativa do ar encontrou-se acima dos limites recomendados, exceto no horário de 15:00 horas. O ITU esteve abaixo da zona de conforto até a segunda semana, indicando que as aves estiveram em estresse por frio neste período. O ITGU às 21:00 horas esteve fora do preconizado durante todo o período experimental. A CTR e o Hº também estiveram abaixo do preconizado em todo o período experimental, indicando pouca quantidade de calor na instalação onde os animais foram alojados. O desempenho dos frangos de corte mostrou-se inferior ao esperado. Neste sentido, recomenda-se realizar alterações no galpão como: reduzir as entradas de ar, diminuir o volume de ar a ser aquecido nas primeiras semanas de vida das aves e fornecer aquecimento suplementar ao nível de galpão, afim de, proporcionar o melhor conforto térmico e, consequentemente, maior desempenho produtivo dos frangos.

Poultry raising and consumption have increased greatly in recent decades, specially due to population growth in large urban centers. Parallel to this development, began to pay attention to how activities are performed, and the machinery, equipment and facilities in the broiler industry influence the occurrence of injury. Based on the risk that activities performed at the slaughterhouse present, this work aimed to evaluate the postural and biomechanical analysis of employees working in that facility. Postures and biomechanics of workers were analyzed from photographic records of the individual in a situation of actual work. The postural analysis was interpreted using the OWAS method (Ovako Working Posture Analyzing System) and for the biomechanical evaluation it was used a two-dimensional biomechanical model computer program for predicting postures and strength (Michigan). After collecting all data, it was observed that the postures adopted to unload chicken boxes off the truck and to clean the scalding and plucking sector, as well as the act of lifting and pushing boxes from various sectors to the freezing area, are worth checking in a short term. With respect to biomechanics, it was observed that the loading of boxes with chicken pieces, coming both from the cutting room and the shredded sector, can injure elbows and shoulders of workers. Thus, it can be concluded that the weight of loads and incorrect postures are responsible for injuries that affect the health of employees working in the slaughterhouse. A criação e o consumo de frangos têm aumentado muito nas últimas décadas, isso é devido ao crescimento da população dos grandes centros urbanos. Paralelo a este desenvolvimento, começou-se a prestar atenção na forma como as atividades são realizadas, e como as máquinas, equipamentos e o ambiente na indústria de frangos de corte influenciam na ocorrência de lesões corporais. Baseado nos riscos que as atividades realizadas no abatedouro oferecem objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a análise postural e biomecânica dos trabalhadores atuantes em um abatedouro de frangos de corte. As posturas e a biomecânica dos trabalhadores foram analisadas a partir de registros fotográficos do indivíduo em situação de trabalho real. A análise postural foi interpretada a partir do uso do método OWAS (Ovako Working Posture Analyzing System) e para a avaliação biomecânica utilizou-se programa computacional de modelo biomecânico bidimensional de predição de posturas e força (Michigan). De posse dos dados coletados observou-se que as posturas adotadas para realizar o descarregamento das caixas de frangos do caminhão, limpeza do setor de escalda e depenagem, assim como o ato de erguer e empurrar as caixas dos vários setores para a área de congelamento, merecem verificação a curto prazo. Com relação à biomecânica, observou-se que o carregamento de caixas com peças de frangos, advindas tanto da sala de corte e setor de desfiados podem lesionar o cotovelo e ombro dos trabalhadores. Assim, pode-se concluir que o peso das cargas e a adoção de posturas incorretas são responsáveis por injúrias que acometem a saúde dos trabalhadores atuantes no abatedouro.

The ambient temperature can influence the performance of birds, such as feed intake, animal welfare, productivity, cost of production and the maintenance requirement. Thus, in countries with tropical and subtropical climates, as is the case of Brazil, intense solar radiation and high values of temperature and relative humidity, especially in the summer, create conditions of thermal discomfort generating considerable economic losses due to reduction in performance and increased mortality of animals. The objective of this work was to study the influence of different levels of thermal stress from the environment, including granges of comfort(25°C), lighta stress(28°C), moderate heat(31°C), high heat (34°C) and severe heat (37°C), on the performance of broilers in the late growth(22-42 days), housed in environmental chambers. Have been determined the physiological and behavioral parameters of chickens, according the specific ranges of temperature and calculated the Temperature Index Black Globe Humidity(ITGU), for control and evaluation of the thermal environment of the treatments. The study was conducted in five climate cameras located in the experimental area of Center for Research in Agro-Industrial Ambience and Engineering Systems (AMBIAGRO) Rural Ambience Constructions and the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa-MG, 150malechicksofone day old Cobb strain, withuniformweights45,36grams. The birds were on a bed of coffee hulls in thickness from 10 cm in order to play a field environment throughout the experimental period. This research was conducted in two stages, a pre-trial phase for the preparation of birds for research, ranging from the 1st day of life the chicks until the end of the 3rd week of life (1-21 days) and a test phase with 140 chicks, between the beginning of the 4th week of life until the end of the 6th week (22 to 42 days of live), in a completely randomized design, with belt thermal environments, four replicates per treatment and seven birds per unit experimental. Feed and waterwere supplied libitumand duringall the time, at nightall birds were keptinthermal comfort. In general, birds kept in temperature of light heat (28°C), according to literature as already causing heat stress during the three last week of life of chickens, performed better than those exposed to other situations, indicating this would be the ambient temperature to the desired setting for birds in its final phase environment, compared with originating the other treatments, including those who remained at recommended temperature as thermal comfort throughout the experimental period. Based on regression analysis of results ITGU, it was observed that at 28°C showed values 72,9 ± 1,4 for the fourth week, 75,5 ± 1,8 for the fifth week, and 73,7 ± 1,8 for the sixth week. The increase of 3,0°C in the process of creating of birds in relation to ambient temperature currently used in the literature in the second stage of creation of broilers it is feasible to improve the production rates of birds and has less waste of electrical energy in the process of cooling the environment, fitting for this, a readjustment of parameters currently used in poultry production in Brazil. A temperatura ambiente pode influenciar o desempenho zootécnico das aves, tais como: consumo de ração, bem-estar animal, produtividade, custo de produção e exigência de mantença. Desta forma, em países de climas tropicais e subtropicais, como é o caso do Brasil, a radiação solar intensa e elevados valores de temperatura e umidade relativa do ar, especialmente no verão, geram condições de desconforto térmico gerando perdas econômicas consideráveis devido a redução no desempenho e aumento na mortalidade dos animais. Objetivou-se com este trabalho, estudar a influência de diferentes níveis de estresse térmico do ambiente, incluindo faixas de conforto (25°C), estresse por calor leve (28°C), calor moderado (31°C), Calor acentuado (34°C) e Calor severo (37°C), sobre o desempenho zootécnico de frangos de corte na fase final de crescimento (22 a 42 dias), alojados em câmaras climáticas. Determinou-se os parâmetros fisiológicos e comportamentais dos frangos, de acordo com as faixas específicas de temperatura do ambiente e calculou-se o Índice de Temperatura de Globo Negro e Umidade (ITGU), para o controle e avaliação do ambiente térmico dos tratamentos. O trabalho foi conduzido em cinco câmeras climáticas localizadas na área experimental do Núcleo de Pesquisa em Ambiência e Engenharia de Sistemas Agroindustriais (AMBIAGRO), setor de Construções Rurais e Ambiência do Departamento de Engenharia Agrícola,da Universidade Federal de Viçosa,Viçosa MG, com 150 pintinhos machos de um dia de vida da linhagem COBB com pesos uniformes 45,36 gramas. As aves ficaram sobre cama de casca de café na espessura de 10 centímetros com finalidade de reproduzir um ambiente de campo durante todo o período experimental. O experimento foi conduzido em uma fase experimental com 140 pintinhos, compreendida entre o início da 4a semana de vida até o final da 6a semana, de 22 a 42 dias, em delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com cinto ambientes térmicos, quatro repetições por tratamento e sete aves por unidade experimental. As rações e a água foram fornecidas à vontade e durante o período noturno todas as aves foram mantidas em ambiente de conforto térmico. De forma geral, as aves mantidas na temperatura de calor leve (28°C), apresentaram melhor desempenho zootécnico que aquelas expostas às demais situações, indicando que esta seria a temperatura ambiental desejável ao ambiente de criação das aves na fase final. Com base na análise dos resultados de ITGU, observou-se que a temperatura de 28°C proporcionou valores de ITGU de 72,9± 1,4 para a quarta semana, 75,5 ± 1,8 para a quinta semana e de 73,7± 1,8 e para a sexta semana, considerados valores ideias de conforto térmico. O aumento de 3,0°C na temperatura do ambiente de criação das aves em relação à utilizada atualmente pela literatura na segunda fase de criação de frangos de corte é viável por melhorar os índices produtivos das aves e apresentando menor dispêndio de energia elétrica no processo de arrefecimento do ambiente, cabendo para isto uma readequação dos parâmetros atualmente empregados na avicultura de corte do Brasil.

The excess in cold or warmth temperature is reverted in low productivity in poultry, affecting their general performance and their health, could occurring extremes situations, as the allotments increase mortality. Therefore, become much relevant to know the thermal level considered comfortable and adequate to the high poult meat production performance in different stages. However, it‟s believe that the temperatures range currently establish as great by the poultry lineage standard could be lagged because the nutrition and genetic changed, as the birds acclimatization in Brazil‟s weather. In view of the exposed, was realized this research, with the aim in evaluate and establish the rang really representative of the thermal comfort to different ages in poultry acclimated in Brazilian conditions, as the different temperatures influence in cold or warmth stress in creation initial stage (poult heat period) on the final performance in birds submitted to the comfort or different conditions in caloric stress situation that happens almost invariably in natural conditions in Brazil). To this, the field work was realized in five chamber climate situated in AMBIAGRO - DEA/UFV, with male poult of COBB linage, being conducted in two stages: first stage with 600 birds in 1 to 21 days and second stage with 240 birds in 21 to 42 days. In the first stage was identify the influence in five different ambient thermal conditions, on performance, physiology and birds behavior in 1 to 21 days, constituted as five treatments: thermal comfort recommended by literature to the three firsts weeks in the birds life (33, 30, 27°C, respectively), two level in cold stress (30, 27, 24°C e 27, 24, 21°C), as the influence in this different treatments in the first stage on the general behavior to the final in the creation period. In the second stage experimental, the birds redistributed in the way that poult in each one of the five treatments of first stage were submitted to a situation in thermal comfort recommended (23°C) and in two heat stress level (27 e 31°C) during 12 hours per day, constituted, in this way, 15 new treatments. During the night period, all birds were kept in comfort thermal ambient. Were analyzed parameters in the animal performance (weight gain, ration and water consume, food conversion, corporal weight and carcass income), physiologic (rectal and surface temperature, T3 and T4 hormone concentrations in blood plasma and the viscera relative weight) and behavior aspects too (as the stress demonstrations, space distribution and feeder and drinker presence). In general, the birds kept in 30, 27 and 24°C temperature, known by literature as caused stress by cold, during three first weeks in their lives, respectively, presented better performance that one expose to the most situations, indicating that these would be the ambient temperature desirable to the poultry creation in initial stage. In the same way, when submitted to the thermal comfort recommended during the second stage of life, these birds maintained better performance that those original from the others treatments, including those that kept in recommended as being thermal comfort in all experimental period. As base the regression analyze of the performance result, ITGU, behavior and physiologic, concluded that the comfort temperature to poult in the first three weeks in their lives were 31,3ºC in the first week, between 26,3 and 27,1ºC in the second week and between 22,5 and 23,2 ºC in the third week, and the temperature that the bird is expose in the first stage in life echoes in the allotment final performance. O nível de conforto térmico no interior de instalações avícolas é fator altamente importante na determinação do sucesso da atividade de produção de frangos de corte. O excesso de frio e/ou de calor, revertem em menor produtividade das aves, afetando sua performance geral e saúde, podendo ocorrer situações extremas, como o acréscimo da mortalidade dos lotes. Por esta razão, torna-se muito relevante que se conheça os níveis térmicos considerados confortáveis e adequados ao máximo desempenho produtivo das aves de corte em suas diferentes fases de desenvolvimento. Entretanto, acredita-se que as faixas de temperaturas atualmente estabelecidas como ótimas pelo padrão das linhagens das aves podem estar defasadas devido à mudança na genética e nutrição, bem como a aclimatização das mesmas ao clima do Brasil. Tendo em vista o exposto, realizou-se esta pesquisa, com o objetivo de avaliar e estabelecer a faixa realmente representativa de conforto térmico para as diferentes idades de frangos de corte aclimatizados nas condições brasileiras, bem como a influencia de diferentes temperaturas de estresse por frio e por calor na fase inicial de criação (período de aquecimento de aviários) sobre o desempenho final de aves submetidas a conforto ou diferentes condições de estresse calórico (situação que ocorre quase que invariavelmente nas condições naturais do Brasil). Para isto, o trabalho de campo foi realizado em cinco câmaras climáticas situadas no AMBIAGRO DEA/UFV, com frangos machos da linhagem COBB, tendo sido conduzido em duas fases: primeira fase com 600 aves de 1 a 21 dias de idade e segunda fase com 240 aves de 21 a 42 dias de idade. Na primeira fase identificou-se a influência de cinco diferentes condições térmicas ambientais, sobre o desempenho, fisiologia e comportamento das aves na idade de 1 a 21 dias, constituindo-se assim cinco tratamentos: conforto térmico até então preconizado pela literatura para as três primeiras semanas de vida das aves, (33, 30, 27°C, respectivamente), dois níveis de estresse por calor, (36, 33 30°C e 39, 36, 33 °C, respectivamente), dois níveis de estresse por frio (30, 27, 24°C e 27, 24, 21°C), assim como a influencia destes diferentes tratamentos da primeira fase sobre seu comportamento geral ao final de seu período de criação. Na segunda fase experimental as aves foram redistribuídas de forma que aves de cada um dos cinco tratamentos da primeira fase fossem submetidas a uma situação de conforto térmico preconizado (23°C) e a dois níveis de estresse por calor (27 e 31°C) durante 12 horas do dia, constituindo assim, 15 novos tratamentos. Durante o período noturno todas as aves foram mantidas em ambiente de conforto térmico. Foram analisados parâmetros de desempenho animal (ganho de peso, consumo de ração e água, conversão alimentar, peso corporal e rendimento de carcaça), fisiológicos (temperatura retal e de superfície, concentrações de hormônios T3 e T4 no plasma sanguíneo e peso relativo de vísceras) e também aspectos comportamentais (tais como demonstração de estresse, distribuição espacial e presença em comedouros e bebedouros). De forma geral, as aves mantidas nas temperaturas de 30, 27 e 24°C, entendida por literatura como já causadora de estresse por frio, durante as três primeiras semanas de vida, respectivamente, apresentaram melhor desempenho que aquelas expostas as demais situações, indicando que esta seria a temperatura ambiental desejável ao ambiente de criação das aves na sua fase inicial. Da mesma forma, quando submetidas a conforto térmico preconizado durante a segunda fase de vida, estas aves mantiveram melhor desempenho que aquelas originarias dos demais tratamentos, incluindo as que permaneceram em temperatura preconizada como sendo de conforto térmico por todo o período experimental. Com base na análise de regressão dos resultados de desempenho, ITGU, comportamentais e fisiológicos, concluiu-se que a temperatura de conforto para frangos de corte nas três primeiras semanas de vida são 31,3ºC na primeira semana, entre 26,3 e 27,1ºC segunda semana e entre 22,5 e 23,2 ºC na terceira semana, e que a temperatura a que a ave é exposta na primeira fase de vida repercute no desempenho final do lote.

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico In the animal production field it is really visible and significant the poultry industry progress, where the broiler chicken is one of the animals with the best efficiency in its development speed. One of the worse problems in the accommodation of these broiler chickens is the high environmental temperature inside of these facilities, caused by the architectural characteristics and the material used to build these accommodations. These problems associated with the physical and physiological characteristics of birds limit the highest productivity provided by the genetic of these animals. Using the pluvial water, which would be wasted, through the store and aspersion of this water on the covering, it is one interesting alternative to the sustainable development of the poultry sector, once it promotes the thermal cooling of the facilities, contributing to reach better results in the productive development of these animals. In this way, the objective of the present work is to evaluate one conventional cooling system upon the covering and project a sustainable thermal cooling system using the water on the zinc steel covering in some commercial broiler production housing in the Brazilian centro-oeste . Some variables were considered during the evaluation, such as: thermal comfort index; thermal charge radiating (TCR); roof surface temperature; bed surface temperature; operation duration and power consumption of the thermal cooling systems of the facilities, with and without the aspersion on the covering; water consumption through the aspersion system, animal performance index. The research was made in six commercial farms integrated of the Perdigão Company, in the region of Rio Verde, Goiás, during the final breeding phase (21 to 42 days) in the period of January of 2007. The six facilities were equipped with the same negative tunnel ventilation and fogging system, but in three of them was settled an additional cooling system with water aspersion on the covering. We used a completely randomized design with two treatments and three repetitions. The statistical analysis of the data of the animal performance was made using the software SAS® (STATISTICAL ANALYSIS SYSTEM). The thermal environment was evaluated using the data of the characteristic days with the lower and higher temperatures of the external air in the beginning phase (21 to 31 days of life) and in the final phase (32 to 42 days), using the aspersion on the covering. To search the characteristic days were made daily analysis of the climatic data of the internal and external environment of the facilities. The duration of the aspersion system working, as well as the ventilation and fogging system of the aviaries, were searched using the internal temperature data of the aviaries for each treatment. The potential use of the aspersion on the covering using the pluvial water was considered according to the climatological rules of the Agricultural Ministry available in the National Meteorological Institute (1961 to 1991). The water aspersion on the covering provided the following results: a) reduction of until 27°C in the roof surface temperature; b) temperature reduction to 0.25 m under the roof for until 10°C for both characteristic days with the lower and higher temperatures of the external air; c) temperature reduction in the level of the birds until 3°C in the characteristic day with the higher temperature of the external air in the beginning phase using the aspersion on the covering, d) increase of until 6% in the relative humidity in the level of the birds in the characteristic day of the lower temperature of the external air in the final phase using the aspersion on the covering; e) maintenance BGHT between 77 and 86, respectively to the characteristic days of lower and higher temperature of the external air , both in the beginning and final phases using the aspersion on the covering; f) TCR maintenance inferior to 500 W.m-2 for both characteristic days as much as in the beginning and final phases using the aspersion on the covering; g) time working reduction of the second extractor group of 4.8%, in the third group of 7.5% and 9.6% in the fogging system; h) approximated water consumption of 5,865 L.h-1; i) 2.03 % of mortality reduction; j) 6.09 % increase of the feed conversion; k) increase of 0.109 kg.animal-1 of the body weight during the slaughter; l) increase of 48.3 in the productive efficiency index; m) it doesn t have any significant difference among the treatments in the bed surface temperature. No campo da produção animal, verifica-se um significativo progresso da indústria avícola, pois o frango de corte comercial é, hoje, um dos animais com maior eficiência de desempenho e rapidez de desenvolvimento. Um dos maiores problemas no alojamento de frangos de corte comercial são as elevadas temperaturas ambientais encontradas no interior das instalações, decorrentes das características arquitetônicas e dos materiais utilizados na construção das instalações, que associadas com as características físicas e fisiológicas das aves, limitam a máxima produtividade proporcionada pela genética dos animais. A utilização da água da chuva que seria desperdiçada, por meio do armazenamento e aspersão da mesma sobre a cobertura é uma alternativa interessante para o desenvolvimento sustentável do setor avícola, uma vez que promove o arrefecimento térmico das instalações, podendo contribuir para alcançar melhores resultados no desempenho produtivo dos animais. Tendo em vista o exposto objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar um sistema convencional de aspersão sobre a cobertura e projetar um sistema sustentável de arrefecimento térmico de ambiente por meio da aplicação de água sobre a cobertura de aço zincado, em instalações comerciais para frangos de corte, na região centro-oeste do Brasil. Na avaliação consideraram-se as seguintes variáveis: índices de conforto térmico, carga térmica radiante (CTR), temperatura da superfície da telha, temperatura da superfície da cama, tempo de funcionamento e consumo de energia pelos sistemas de arrefecimento térmico dos aviários com e sem aspersão sobre a cobertura, consumo de água pelo sistema de aspersão e índices de desempenho zootécnico. A pesquisa foi realizada em seis aviários de produção industrial de frangos de corte do Sistema de Integração da Perdigão Agroindustrial S/A, na Região de Rio Verde, Goiás, durante a fase final de criação (21 aos 42 dias de idade), no período de janeiro de 2007. Os seis aviários eram equipados com idêntico sistema de ventilação negativa e nebulização interna, sendo que em três destes foi instalado um sistema de resfriamento adicional com aspersão de água sobre a cobertura. Utilizou-se um delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC) com dois tratamentos e três repetições. A análise estatística dos dados de desempenho zootécnico das aves foi realizada no software SAS® (STATISTICAL ANALYSIS SYSTEM). O ambiente térmico foi avaliado com base nos dias característicos de menor e de maior temperatura máxima do ar externo na fase inicial (21 aos 31 dias de vida das aves) e na fase final (32 aos 42 dias de vida das aves) de utilização da aspersão sobre a cobertura. Para escolher os dias característicos foram realizadas análises diárias de todos os dados climáticos do ambiente externo e interno das instalações. O tempo de acionamento do sistema de aspersão, bem como do sistema de ventilação e nebulização interno aos aviários, se deu com base nos dados de temperatura interna dos aviários para cada tratamento. O potencial de uso da aspersão sobre a cobertura utilizando água pluvial foi considerado de acordo com as normais climatológicas do Ministério da Agricultura e Reforma Agrária disponível no Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (1961 a 1991). A aspersão de água sobre a cobertura proporcionou os seguintes resultados: a) Redução de até 27 oC na temperatura da superfície da telha; b) Redução da temperatura a 0,25 m abaixo do telhado em até 10 oC para ambos os dias característicos de menor e de maior temperatura máxima do ar externo; c) Redução na temperatura ao nível das aves em até 3 oC no dia característico de maior temperatura máxima do ar externo na fase inicial de utilização da aspersão sobre a cobertura; d) Aumento de até 6 % na umidade relativa ao nível das aves no dia característico de menor temperatura máxima do ar externo na fase final de utilização da aspersão sobre a cobertura; e) Manutenção da faixa de ITGU entre 77 e 86, respectivamente para os dias característicos de menor e de maior temperatura máxima do ar externo, tanto na fase inicial como final de utilização da aspersão sobre a cobertura; f) Manutenção da CTR inferior a 500 W.m-2 para ambos os dias característicos, tanto na fase inicial como final de utilização da aspersão sobre a cobertura; g) Redução no tempo de funcionamento do segundo grupo de exaustor de 4,8 %, no terceiro grupo de 7,5 % e na bomba de nebulização de 9,6 %; h) Consumo de água de aproximadamente de 5.865 L.h-1. i) Redução na mortalidade de 2,03 %; j) Melhora na conversão alimentar de 6,09%; k) Aumento no ganho de massa corporal média ao abate de 0,109 kg.animal-1; l) Aumento de 48,3 no Índice de Eficiência Produtiva; m) Na temperatura da superfície da cama não houve diferença significativa entre os tratamentos.
