Search

The renewed interest in neutrinoless double beta decay (DBD) is discussed in view of the recent evidence in favor of neutrino oscillations. The various direct and indirect experimental approaches to search for DBD, especially in the neutrinoless channel, are reviewed and compared, together with the presently available experimental results. Second generation experiments on DBD are reported, discussed and compared, by considering both those planned with conventional methods as those based on new techniques. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
