- Abstract
With a new technique for the assessment of lipid peroxidation products in chloroform bile extracts it was possible to register an increase in the ratio malonic dialdehyde/phospholipids in patients with both calculous and acalculous cholecystitis. Bile of all patients with acute cholecystitis was characterized by a decrease in concentration of all the components, but use of relative parameters (malonic dialdehyde/phospholipids, index of bilirubin fractions and cholesterol/lecithin index) allows to verify the stage of the inflammation. The changes were unidirectional in B-bile and C-bile portions in all the patients with acalculous cholecystitis.
