The preparation mechanism and liquefaction mechanism is reviewed, then the preparation method and modification mechanism of bio-asphalt is given, and the research situation and development prospects of bio-asphalt are concluded at home and abroad.Compared with traditional asphalt, bio-asphalt has better road performance, economic and environmental benefits, and could be used as a good substitute for traditional road asphalt.
