Abstract

Research has been conducted on the putative gene that encodes O-acetyl transferase and is involved in the O-polysaccharide biosynthesis in Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 strains. The effect of the gene's presence and absence on the O-polysaccharide O-acetylation from Philadelphia 1 strain has been investigated.

Research has been conducted on Euglena gracilis docosahexaenoic acid. The authors have investigated the ability of E. gracilis to be the source for cloning cDNA which encodes Delta4-fatty acyl group desaturase.
