Neolissochilus soroides (Duncker 1904) Lissochilus tweediei: Herre & Myers, 1937: 61 (River Yum, a tributary of the River Plus). Neolissochilus soroides: Ahmad et al., 2014: 18 (Sungkai Wildlife Reserve); Ahmad & Zakaria-Ismail, 2014 (Sg. Cha Chor; Sg. Kejar; Sg. Ketir; Sg. Purun; Sg. Tiang); Shafiq et al., 2014: 825 (Sg. Ara; Sg. Kurau); Authors' data (Lata Papan; Lata Tebing Tinggi; Lata Ulu Chepor; Malim Nawar; Sg. Ara; Sg. Bikam; Sg. Jelai; Sg. Jelutong; Sg. Ijok; Sg. Temelong; Sg. Ulu Kenas; Sg. Bongkok). Remarks. We considered any specimen that resembles the morphological features of the Neolissochilus genus as Neolissochilus soroides because the latest literature indicates that congener N. hendersoni can only be found in neighbouring Penang, Kedah and Kelantan. It is not recorded in Perak so far (Khaironizam et al., 2015). Neolissochilus soroides closely resembles but differs from N. hendersoni by having slightly higher scale and gill rakers count (lateral scales 20-24 vs. 18-22; gill rakers 14-17 vs. 12-14). Moreover, there are three mouth forms in N. soroides to add to the confusion. To be conservative, we felt it is best to regard all specimens found by studies in Perak as N. soroides for the time being until more investigations are carried out., Published as part of Ng, Casey Keat Chuan, Lim, Teow Yeong, Ahmad, Amirrudin & Khaironizam, Md Zain, 2019, Provisional checklist of freshwater fish diversity and distribution in Perak, Malaysia, and some latest taxonomic concerns, pp. 515-545 in Zootaxa 4567 (3) on page 524, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4567.3.5, http://zenodo.org/record/2599047, {"references":["Duncker, G.
