[Objective] The sugar transport protein gene STP (SUGAR TRANSPORT PROTEIN) is a key gene for the transport of apoplast monosaccharides into cells. Sugar transportation and distribution are of great significance to the flower bud differentiation and fruit quality formation of chestnut. In order to understand the STP gene family information, function and expression pattern in chestnut. [Method] Using HMM3.0 software, based on STP hidden Markov model, in the chestnut genome database, identify the members of the chestnut CmSTP family. Use TBtools, ExPASy, MEME and other software to analyze the CmSTP gene structure, the physicochemical properties of the encoded protein, the structural domain and the phylogenetic relationship. And extract the expression of CmSTP from the transcriptome data of chestnut mixed buds at different stages and analyze its expression pattern. [Results] There are 17 STP family members in the chestnut genome, the length of the open reading frame is 843~1584 bp; the molecular weight of the encoded protein is between 32 122.5~57 788.3 Da, and the isoelectric point is between 5.46~10.46, all located on the cell membrane, Most of the transmembrane domains are 8-12. There are 10 conserved motifs in the CmSTP family members, of which Motif1, Motif3 and Motif5 are present in 17 CmSTP proteins at the same time, and the remaining motifs have varying degrees of deletion at the N-terminus or C-terminus. According to the evolutionary relationship, CmSTP can be divided into 4 categories. Among them, Group III and Group IV have more CmSTP members, including 8 and 5 CmSTP proteins, respectively. Transcriptome data analysis showed that CmSTP6, CmSTP12 and CmSTP15 were higher in mixed buds during the budding stage of chestnut tree in early spring. The high expression of CmSTP6 in mixed buds lasted longer. The expression of CmSTP family members has temporal and spatial specificity. CmSTP6 may be involved in carbohydrate transport during early spring development of flower buds. [Conclusion] The results of this study lay a foundation for further exploring the molecular mechanism of STP gene family in the process of plant growth and development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
